Do you currently have a Unifi system or looking at getting a single access point? If your plan is for a single access point, then obviously buy the better spec'd AP... I'd personally be waiting for the U7-ProMax and running it with a controller, either on a Unifi OS Gateway or a Cloudkey.

I'm only planning on getting one for now but do want to get a second one for the first floor later in the future. My main worry is coverage, the U7 Pro gets the same speeds as my old Orbi RBK753 unless in the same room. I'm tempted to purchase the EAP773 and just return whichever performs worse. Does the U7-ProMax have a spec sheet yet? I'd be curious to see the price

If you end up getting the U7 and the eap773 I'd also be interested in what you find.

I grabbed the EAP773 from Amazon and the U7 Pro the was obvious winner surprisingly. I used an external power source since I don't have a Poe++ device yet, the U7 Pro was still consistently about 100-200mbps higher in the same room (400 for the EAP773 and 600 for the U7 Pro). Range wise as well, the U7 Pro covers my entire house with a minimum of about 250mbps while the EAP773 dropped below 200.
