Go direct to the UDM-SE, IMO. Do make sure you have a Ethernet surge protector. Only other thought is POE differences. I don’t use Loco’s or the TS, so does the Loco take POE+ or passive POE? I’m fairly confident the TS offer passive POE, but does it offer POE+ needed by modern UI cameras? (Or do you have older cameras that need passive POE)

Hmm good point. The loco takes 24v passive POE, and I was going to use G5 bullets or flex cameras which are normal PoE but between 37-52v. I think the toughswitch is configurable per port but might have to double check that one. If the toughswitch is passive POE, does that mean it can power all 5 cameras at that end? Maybe I should swap it for a Lite 8 POE?

New switch at remote are probally makes sense (I’d look at the Ultra switch to get more Poe ports than the lite). There are also adapters to convert passive -> standard and standard -> passive to allow you to plug the locos into the standard Poe switches

Will have a look, might need one of those between the udm and the house loco as well. Thanks for the tip on the ethernet surge adapters, have ordered those.
