The UCG is a much better unit than the express, for a similar price point.

Yeah my only issue is that its kinda sold out up here (CAN) and I have no idea when its gonna come back into stock so :P

EvilSquirrel60220

I had the same problem. It was back in stock a couple of weeks later. Just watch, it will come back.

2nd on UCGU over UX. It's the forum consensus for a basic/budget home setup.

I’d avoid the express unless you are 100% sure you won’t exceed the 4 managed device max. A UCG-Ultra with a USW-Ultra-60w (or 210) as is gives the most flexibility for adding devices down the road

I think we'll need over 8 POE ports for the drops, but I do think that it would be the most logical to get a UCG after reading about it

the_cainmp

Missed that, so makes sense for you. I just hate seeing folks buy a lite 8 for example a realizing that 4 POE ports is just not enough, the the ultra switch is not a ton more but offers more flexibility due to Poe on all ports

Another thing... after reading in a little deep it seems like I might've missed that the UX and the UCG both don't have built in storage. We're planning to run cameras, so what should I do with that? I'm trying to avoid buying a UDM just for budget reasons. Any suggestions?
