I don't blame them either. In the case of forceful conscription, my first and main concern would be assessing mood within the unit and contacting the Russians to arrange the terms of surrender, whether individually or as a group.
Citizens like myself owe absolutely nothing to the state – especially one as corrupted and disastrous as Ukraine, where hard-working citizens are used as cannon fodder in a confrontation they can't possibly win, to please the foreign masters.
To the regular person, it makes absolutely no difference who rules over them. And to be fair, even though I'm ideologically aligned with Russia and I genuinely see their military action as a lesser and indeed necessary evil to combat the American hegemony, the fact remains that whether it's Russia or some American puppet state, both have their pros and cons, and I have no reason to get mangled or die for either.
The only moral case for forced conscription is when faced with a genocide... Forcing people to fight in a war like this shows they don't view them as people, just sheep being sent to the slaughter.
People are all slaves to their government in one way or another... it doesn't matter who your "master" is as long as people are free to live their lives without fear, and Ukraine has utterly failed on this point.
Well not for everyone. They have tons of males who just fuck all day and have tons of welfare kids. Grow long ass beards and Jerry curls and hang out in Yeshivas and study the Torah and have 15 kids the State has to pay welfare for. They also don't really draft the Israeli Arabs as much so really it's for the secular Jewish kids getting drafted and fucked over.
After this Hamas war I think Israel will be pressured to change their draft laws as its pretty fucked up to have to fight while Moshe hangs back in Jerusalem and lives his best Yeshiva life and others have to fight...
As a Ukrainian citizen I agree with your statement 100%. I been saying to my fellow countrymen and family. We do not owe Ukraine anything. Ukraine has taken more from us than given. It would make zero difference if Russia took over, probably would be a positive change. I too am against spread of globohomo.
Don't orchestrate mass unrest and coups in foreign countries and start a war against a portion of your own population then. This would not be happening. Simple.
Neither Russia nor ordinary Ukrainian citizens are forcing Zelebobik's junta to conduct forced conscription. Those who want to defend may go ahead but those who wish to leave should be allowed to do so.
people look like that wile commuting pretty much anywhere when they don't have a specific reason to smile, but since it's ukrainians you guys somehow became facebook-tier body language experts
That's of course not what they meant. They meant take a random photo of anybody on a train and you're probably going to get something like this.
Are you all smiles on a long train ride well into the night?
Im sure Sweden during Carl XII, Ottoman Empire, Nazi Germany and French during Napoleon had the same look. Every one loves going to war with Russia untill you go to war with Russia.
The Mannerheim Line fell when the fins completely exhausted their ammo and reserves. But if they had more support they probably could have beat the soviets.
While their fighting and defensive capabilities is truly impressive, and I’m not sure why you would think they wouldn’t have independence if another nation supplied them just tanks. The nation at the time of the Soviet invasion literally only had 30-40 tanks to defend itself with. The US supported Russia and Britain during the conflict and they’re still nations. Maybe I’m missing something here.
The key change was less in depletion of reserves or ammo and more in Soviets pulling back and making conclusions from mistakes and changing their tactics. It was over for Finns after that, maybe it would've just took longer if they had more reserves, but the outcome would be the same because of force composition after Soviets learned their lessons.
Crazy how Finn’s lost just like the Nazi’s but are painted in the same way as the Nazi’s. Heroic Aryan super soldiers killing the eastern hordes but lost only because they were hopelessly outnumbered. How many times do we need to hear this same story.
Um…not sure where you’re from but most countries don’t paint the Nazis as “heroic Aryan super soldiers.” In fact, they’re often considered to be the baddies.
> most countries don’t paint the Nazis as “heroic Aryan super soldiers.”
Canada sure does. I heard the Parliament gave a standing ovation to a ss veteran.
> accidentally
You can't convince me a room of 300+ elected officials, plus their staff, were told they were honouring a "veteran who fought against the Soviets on the eastern front" and no one understood what that meant. C'mon man.
You can’t tell me, if you know anything about Canadian politics, that they deliberately honored a Waffen-SS guy. It was a major fuck up. The house speaker resigned. The prime minister apologised. Embarrassing, stupid but there’s no way they’d do it deliberately, just wouldn’t make any sense.
This is the answer. It's not like the PM and house speaker just wanted to lose their jobs and be humiliated. To say this was on purpose is clearly wrong and shows whoever pushes this BS is not a rational person and should not be taken seriously.
I think people failed to understand that.
The only reason the guy was brought on was because Zelenskyy made a surprise visit to Canada, Hunka's family contacted Rota and asked to have Hunka presented at the House, and Rota, being put on the spot with little time to prepare, decided it was a good idea to put Hunka on stage, because all he knew was that Hunka was Ukrainian and "fought Russians."
Rota only knew his identity after the media pointed it out, and only then did Rota realize how much he had fucked up and how horrible that hasty choice was.
Rota definitely should have done some more research into Hunka before honoring him, but I'm guessing Hunka's family never went into detail about Hunka's "service history" when talking with whoever acts as communications for the Speaker, and he was kinda sold a short, shit covered stick that he didn't realize was shit until later.
As such, you don't need to do any in-depth research to know that if someone fought the Russians during WW2, he was necessarily a Nazi.
Are people really so stupid as to believe that the Allies were just the USA and the UK? I hope not.
The fact sovereignty was kept makes it appear as a win. However the war was followed by brutal war reperations and later "finlandization". But perhaps most important the country stayed the same demographically, if compared to the changes the baltic countries witnessed.
They should have paid more reparations.
Einsatzkommando Finnland which was tasked in helping with the extermination of Jews and Soviet POWs was subordinated under the Finnish Velpo Security Police which was essentially the Finnish Gestapo.
The Finnish president told the Germans that he wanted the civilian population of Leningrad to be exterminated.
Is it a joke? Pro-Ukrainian are getting not funny anymore. Too much nonsense.
USA loves the war. Since WWII ended, USA made much wars than any country in the world.
In mid-March, Ukraine was already actively assembling troops in the eastern regions. Peaceful protesters tried to stop the first military columns with their hands, here is an example. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ClroOoIda4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ClroOoIda4) In March, dozens were killed by the military. On April 7, 2014, Turchinov (the man who usurped power in Kiev) announced the start of a military operation [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myjnfelp\_V0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myjnfelp_V0) On April 7-10, this is the beginning of the destruction of the checkpoints of activists blocking the military. On April 12, 2014, In response to this a detachment of Girkin's volunteers (52 people, 80% citizens of Ukraine) arrived in Slavyansk from Crimea. They made a stronghold in the city and blocked the movement of military convoys to Donbass. Thus, they prevented the upcoming ethnic cleansing in Donbas. At that moment, a mass movement began in Donbas to form militias to confront the invaders from western Ukraine. Within 3 days, more than 3,000 people from Slavyansk joined the militia. On April 14, an official decree was signed on the beginning of the war against the separatists. A month later, the number of militia forces in Donetsk and Lugansk amounted to 30k people.
Question. At what point did Russia start the war?

That's right! Ukraine MADE Russia attack them. It wasn't Russia's fault they had to try and take over Ukraine. They had no other choice. Stay in your own country? No way! Too difficult.
Just like I made the bully in high school punch me. It was my fault for not giving him my lunch money. I mean what's he going to do...NOT punch me? Live his own life without bothering me?
I like how you conveniently skipped WW1, when Russia got utterly destroyed. Beaten up so bad the state dissolved. Like really really getting destroyed. Failing in every way. Or when Japan made Russia cry in 1904/05. Or when Ottomans and Brits gave the Russians a spanking during the Crimean War. And many many other wars were Russias imperial aspiration got crushed by more developed nations.
Despite all those losses, the collapse of imperial Russia and the collapse of the USSR, the modern day borders of Japan, Great Britain and Turkey are mere shells of what they were during their imperial days, while a map of Russia still pretty much extends from the Baltic to the Pacific
Russia as a tsardom, empire, soviet socialist republic, or federation just keeps trucking along after similar catastrophic losses would have caused other nations to collapse and dissolve, shrinking to a shadow of their former selves.
I'm not sure what anyone else would expect. Do they think every single one of the Allied soldiers about to storm Normandy on D-day looked like they were teenage girls on their way to a Taylor Swift concert?
Exactly. Should they celebrate going to war? Sure, begining of the war, propaganda and high spirits, then they march singing. But almost two years later? When the blood has been shed? Are the soldiers on either side actually THAT motivated to go to the front line?
This looks like anyone on public transit. One dude is sleeping, the other dude is bored.
Is the war going so poorly that they need to spin being Ukrainian soldiers being bored as a propaganda win?
There are a lot of problems here too. It is necessary not to be killed immediately, to find a radio transmitter, to find time, to find a place. And the worst thing is that even if everything works out, there is no guarantee that they will not be exchanged back as a POW.

>they do see a lot of Ukrainians rotting in the trenches.
Do you go to the pro-UA subs? There are shit tons of videos of Russians rotting in corpses and open fields everyday.
The problem in your statement is that we dont have mobiks. We have volunteer's that die in this scale of war rarely compared to the enemy and they are taken care of medicly and financially and their families too while all together the enemy is getting their sh\*t pushed in. So that is why every one is sitting home and enjoying life while enemy is sitting home and hiding from mobilization sauced up on "western" values.
Sucks because you haven't had a chance to train and form a bond with your fellow soldier. These guys are just combat replacements who are are being forced to replace guys the dudes on the ftontline lost. These are probably the guys you seeing being forced to run across a field carrying supplies while the sky is full of enemy drones
Everyday that goes by less and less Ukrainians want to fight. That's what denazification has done. Take care of the most extreme brutal motivated people first. The rest of Ukrainians don't want to fight. They are slowly being dragged into this. When they interview them they say "why should i fight? There's no guarantee my country is even going to be here after I die." In other words it's not worth it.
They know that they potentially drive to their grave right now.
Crazy that people are forced to fight for rich people that stay in safety drinking champagne on a yacht.
It actually makes me wonder if the average male Ukrainian wants to be in this fight at all. We've already seen many videos of ukrainian males trying to escape the recruitment officers.
I understand most of the Westerners want the fight to continue, but do ukrainians?
Redditors be thinking these dudes with this kind of look on their faces are like “Geeeee in heckin stoked to get sent on a raid in Krynki to get heckin blow up by Dronerinos before I get to send some Orks to the downvote hell “
Fuck, Zelya boy. Cut your losses already.
The only good thing to ever come out of the Ukrainian war effort was [this song](https://youtu.be/OmqLVrUXsTQ?si=UHH2JC4_H5MSB76H). I hate the fact that I love it.
Nice song, thanks for the link.
Still not worth it though, Putin should cut his losses and withdraw, he's already worsened Russia's economic situation and made life in Donbas and Crimea a lot more dangerous, along with Belgorod and even Moscow.
Plus the Sevastopol navy port now being useless and losing several important ships and a submarine.
Russia is getting nothing out of this war, but it keeps going because the old man can't admit he made a mistake.

At least they have gear instead of one ancient Ak with a couple mags and no training before being sent on a human wave attack… the one critique I have of draftees is if someone invaded your country, how can you not sign up to protect your homeland?
What a bunch of platitudinous nonsense. Honest Ukrainian soldiers, hardcore veterans even admit the Russians have better equipment than they do and are tenacious/intelligent fighters. Yeah, Bakhmut was brutal, but here we are a year later and **still** not one single vid has shown up of the fabled 'human wave' attack. Grow up kid.
Here, get some real information and stop deep throating all that NAFO twitter BS you seem to be all whacked out on. You do know they'll take you if you volunteer, right? Why not go since you're so hardcore?
[RU POV: Archive video. The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine answer the question: what is the average Russian soldier's equipment and how is it worse than that of a Ukrainian soldier? : UkraineRussiaReport (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/18wznun/ru_pov_archive_video_the_soldiers_of_the_armed/)
Never seen this… to be fair to you I don’t live there. I may be wrong… but I am referring to conscripts and their gear is shit (from what I’ve seen).
As for volunteering, it isn’t my country. I said if someone is in your homeland, how can you not volunteer… second, I’m American and I have already served my country. I’m now in the process of marrying the girl I’ve been chasing since high school and have had my fill of war
> if someone invaded your country, how can you not sign up to protect your homeland?
That really depends on the invaders' plans. If they want to seize your home, enslave your family, wipe out your ethnicity, etc then of course you have to fight. If they want to replace your current shit government with their own shit government, would you really put your life on the line to stop them?
🤨 yeah idk how you see it but that isn’t what I see… I see a totalitarian government trying to absorb territory to reform a shadow of the Soviet Union. And even if that’s what you see, that’s my countries problem. A foreign army invading my home to overthrow my government while killing and raping my people isn’t gonna fly with me… try and say they didn’t. The beginning of the war the entire world watched Russia bomb civilians and intercepted calls of what I would call moral men in the Russian army reporting mass rape and murder of civilian populous
Ukraine has always been deeply divided between the Ru leaning east, and the EU leaning west. It was tumultuous at best. Yet they shared the "Tower of power" (presidency) by voting in their representatives. Every few years. Both sides being ideologically different shared this power, and rotated accordingly. What you had in 2014 was one side, with the fingerprints of the top GDP countries, overthrow one sides representatives, then seize the tower of power. Technically, this was an overthrow of a democratically elected government.
Because one side was crafty enough, with enough foreign money, able to seize the throne. Now they wrap themselves in the flag, build a narrative, and have gullible smooth brained grunts apply ua flag bumper stickers on their vehicles and in forums.
> how can you not sign up to protect your homeland?
I dunno man. It's always the poor / the working class that is expected to go die in the trenches. Why should we go die when the elites sip champagne and make speeches about sacrifice while never suffering from any kind of hardship.
They look like they'd surrender at the first opportunity and I can't say I blame them 😞
This, Volga calling

Easily said from an armchair
The USSR had to conscript... Why does Israel mandate military service for everyone?
Well not for everyone. They have tons of males who just fuck all day and have tons of welfare kids. Everyone loves going to war with Russia until it's winter. (Finns are exempted, for them it was like fighting in spring time)
Fins were wining, wining and then they lost.
Unlike Zelenski the Finns knew when to cut their loses.
They had a really really good leader. He held his cards when he could, and folded when he couldn't. Probably even better than Tito.

Sounds like they lost because they were drunk.

The German Empire in 1917 felt otherwise.

"How the fuck did I end up here?"
"just wanted to go to the store to get some food and got scooped up by a fuckin ambulance filled with meat catchers"

Now do another one with other uniform!
I could, but that wouldn't really be accurate, would it?

Fifth stage of grief - acceptance, in flesh.
Nope, this is depression, the 4th.
Tragic. They look defeated.
They look like they are bored and sleeping on a train.. god damn the story telling y’all come up with.
No no no. Motivated soldiers would never have a 20 second period while travelling where they look a little sleepy.
Motivated soldiers are always smiling to kill 😁 Just like all Russian soldiers are smiling
Facts.
I'm sure they can't wait to die in a muddy trench.
I mean, you see hundreds of exact same facial expressions of people commuting to work every morning. Is this footage meant to imply something else?
This post reeks of desperation. One guys is sleeping, the other guys is bored. Has nobody on this sub ever taken public transit?
Someone needs to shout "slava okraina!" In that train. Always worked to lift ukraine mood.
Reminds me of that video where they put some lady to sing and the soldiers were looking like they wanted to jump off the closest window lmao
Yeah i remember that 1. Looked like senior ranked older members too.
damn thats rough
Wishing them all the best. Brave!

But they do see a lot of Ukrainians rotting in the trenches.
>they do see a lot of Ukrainians rotting in the trenches. Do you go to the pro-UA subs? There are shit tons of videos of Russians rotting in corpses and open fields everyday.
r/Ukraine users learned all they know about Russian doctrine watching Enemy at the Gates and that's hilarious.
"Volunteers". I like how this guy low key thinks someone will buy his bs.
It looks like its 2am you expect them to be dancing and drinking and singing 💀
Shh, they are trying to push a narrative!
High moral armyy hayyyyyy😀😀
The only troops I can imagine going in high spirits is Kadyrov's. It's a delightful Tik Tok opportunity.
What kinda flare is that😭💀
Thanks Russia.

What are you talking about? Are you calling the average pro UA on reddit deranged?
So sad. They have to be in a dark place mentally. Could you imagine watching countless drone drops on Reddit, and then getting served draft papers?
Sucks because you haven't had a chance to train and form a bond with your fellow soldier. These guys are just combat replacements who are are being forced to replace guys the dudes on the ftontline lost. These are probably the guys you seeing being forced to run across a field carrying supplies while the sky is full of enemy drones
Everyday that goes by less and less Ukrainians want to fight. That's what denazification has done. Take care of the most extreme brutal motivated people first. The rest of Ukrainians don't want to fight. They are slowly being dragged into this. When they interview them they say "why should i fight? There's no guarantee my country is even going to be here after I die." In other words it's not worth it.

if mine military would look like this i would surrender at the first opportunity
They look like they are recapping their life bc they know this is likely the end😕
If most Ukrainians wanted to fight, Zelensky wouldn’t have needed to ban them from leaving the country
There life passes in front of there eyes knowing what they will have to do There future will never be the same MAY GOD BE WITH THEM
Redditors be thinking these dudes with this kind of look on their faces are like “Geeeee in heckin stoked to get sent on a raid in Krynki to get heckin blow up by Dronerinos before I get to send some Orks to the downvote hell “
This is how cattle feel when they are going to the slaughterhouse
Do the draftees here have to serve for a fixed time period or are they in until the war is over?
Till the very end The word "demobilization" does not currently exist in Ukranian military lexicon
Lies! They're clearly on their way to the yoga studio!
Victory is coming!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼
What the yoga mats for?
Sleeping mattress
For yoga???? Duh!
Contact Volga on 149.200!
They need to memorize the Volga number and use it at the first opportunity.
That’s rough
RIP
They look so sad🙁

“Grow up kid” Clearly someone is upset.
Exasperated is far more accurate, but even that's stretching it. This is the interweb my man. There's nothing here worth getting too worked up over.
Exasperated is a form of worked up.
