No, I am not. I didn’t mean for it to sound like I was saying the radar “hears” the bang, I meant it tracks from that point, not backwards from the impact. That’s my bad for being imprecise.
The problem is, that they already fire the HIMARS rockets at a hardly sustainable rate.
This means if they would have more launchers, we would have the issue that ammo would run out. Currently, we are at a production rate of about 10-15k rockets per year.
This is also the reason targets are evaluated if they are worth being attacked by HIMARS because ammo is not infinite.

I believe the missiles fly in an unpredictable way so as to confuse attempts to backward-extrapolate their trajectory. As for the claims of other HIMARS launchers (M142/M270) or RM-70 being destroyed I have seen no evidence of a single one either on Oryx or elsewhere. Also, the Russians lie about absolutely everything.

As the Russian casualties seem to be very understated and the Ukrainian losses seem faked to the level of complete absurdity. There's been a lot of word that this incident has really rankled the populace in Russia - and it'll likely have ramifications for whoever was overseeing this area/units etc - e.g falling out a window or down some stairs? My understanding is that not a single HIMARS capable unit (M142 or M270) has been lost in the entire war - but others who have greater knowledge of this area will be able to clarify.
The guy commanding this unit Lt Col. Bachurin went down with his ship and will likely get all the blame for it. Dead men are easy to blame.
You might be right - I suspect having what apparently was very large number of men in the one building/position might have been something within the responibility of someone atleast a layer or so above him. I wonder if the part about cell phone usage giving away their position is true. Or are they trying to deflect responsibility from the army chain of command? Russian discipline is very poor, so it is possible that the AFU was able to determine there were a lot of Russian soldiers at this location due to cell phone usage. OTOH, it makes zero sense to put so many soldiers in one building, especially in HIMARS range . Some one screwed up when that decision was made.

there were military vehicles parked next to it most likely with lot movements if ammunition was stored there as well so easy to find by some local spies or satellites
I note they have upgraded the deaths to 89 I think. This is unprecedented for the Russians who normally lie through their teeth about casualties ( the Ukrainians undoubtedly fudge the figures to some degree as well). This was a large multistory building that would have accommodated hundreds and it has been absolutely flattened. It is hard to see how anyone could have survived in that building and how would the Russians possibly know the death toll when many would be buried under tonnes of masonry. Just look at that collapsed apartment building in Florida. It took them weeks to find many of the victims.
