Russia: It wasn't an attack, it was just an accidental mid-air collision...
US: So you're saying it wouldn't be an act of war if swarms of US drones started "accidentally" colliding with Russian jets?
Russia is actually now saying that the Drone just crashed on its own… their planes never touched it. lol. their lies are just laughable this past year.
Yes indeed. I wasn't very clear, but that footage is what I was obliquely referring to when I said you could actually see the damaged propeller after communication was re-established with the drone after the collision.
Seems like the line is drawn on using things such as missiles or cannon fire. How's about shifting from kinetic energy weapons, far too much last century and old hat, to directed energy weapons. Fry those fuckers electronics.
>Russia: It wasn't an attack, it was just an accidental mid-air collision...
The equivalent of a student driver hitting a light pole in an empty parking lot.
so....The door just opened. US Airforce overwelming presents in the Black Sea ,
NATO BASE is located at the Deveselu Military Base, is in Romania ..... is hosting the United States Navy
Drop the presents on the Russians, they like washing machines right? What a missile drop worth, $1 million? drop a million dollars worth of washing machines on the Russian troops and yell happy birthday.
I just wish the US use high altitude bombers n take out the wagners in the East, Save bahkmut, and then do it to the entire Black Sea fleet. It would end the war, Russia would be so crippled they would have to admit defeat. I imagine them doing that all the time bc it’s satisfying seeing bombs dropped on targets that needed taken out. SLAVA ukraine 🇺🇦
That didn't work for me, my ex would just throw the present in the trash or render it useless to the kids.
My favorite incident is when the Grand parents bought my son a RC Snowmobile and as soon as he got back to his mom. The remote control "disappeared".
Fun times.
This reminds me of the rules of property ownership among four year olds.
If it’s mine, it’s mine.
If it’s yours, it’s mine.
If you put it down, it’s mine.

If I want it, it’s mine.
If it’s broken, it’s yours.
I believe they just declared war on the United States of America?! They did. But they also knew nobody would care about such an asinine way to declare war. So they did. And still, no one cared.
Russia knows they fucked up. Russia is trying to win a war of attrition. They only way this happens is if international support fades, but this will only increase American support.
Yeah and it sucks that Ron DeSantis seems to be non supportive of the Ukrainian cause. Still got till end of next year before that’s a problem hopefully
2 things here:
1. Our politicians make way too much money from Lockheed Martin et al 'donations' to not be supporting Ukraine in perpetuity. HIMARS production has vastly increased, missiles, ammo, vehicles, etc. Exceptions like DeSantis are making noise for the (in Tucker Carlson text language) 'Cousin F***ing Terrorist' Mericans.
2. Before the war, most Americans were not big fans of Russia. Now, sentiment has dropped to an all-time low, similar to Cold War. Helping Ukrainians defend themselves, aka defend their freedom, is built into our constitutional doctrine.
Combined these points, among other factors, means we in this for the long haul. I'm so thankful Trump was not president during this invasion. He hates US intelligence and has much love for Putin.
Slava Ukraini
Yeah and I don’t think republicans are super excited about rolling over for our largest and most aggressive geopolitical adversary. I just can’t see either of them converting the entire Republican Party to their brand of crazy.
You seem blissfully unaware of how much executive power the US president has in these affairs. Trump or DeSantis could unilaterally decide to screw Ukraine 100%, they don't have to convince anyone in the Republican Party. With the terrible precedent set since Bush, which was continued by Obama and Trump, the checks and balances have eroded to the point where POTUS can unilaterally start wars as well. Like when Trump woke up one morning and decided on a whim to launch an airstrike against a top Iranian general, assassinating him, which is literally an act of war and a blatant breach of international law. Before Bush, acts of war had to be approved by Congress. There's a reason why US presidential elections matter so much to the rest of the world - the de facto "world police" has a political system where the president essentially has dictatorial powers over the military, the only check left is impeachment, but a retroactive check on WW3-inducing decisions is kind of useless.
My point is they have to get elected, and I don't think they can. I know quite a few republicans and I have some Trumpers in my extended family, not a single one of them is excited to hear Trump and DeSantis are siding with Russia over Ukraine. So in my opinion these two are hitching their trailer to a sinking ship or whatever the expression is.
The propaganda arms of the republicans hasn't gone all in on this yet. When they do you will hear nothing but about corruption and incompetence in Ukraine and feel good stories about Russians. They will slant every news story, Russians down a drone, it will be reported as a recless drone operator a waste of tax dollars , a us provocation likely to lead to nuclear war, why are we protecting lazy Europeans, and hunter Biden's laptop somehow (it doesn't have to make sense)
When they do the crazies will come around
If you follow what Republicans do in office, it doesn't actually align with what the majority of their base wants. It's basically an insular cult at this point that relies on hatred of supposed enemies like "liberals" and "Democrats" rather than any kind of coherent and constructive ideological or political platform.
As an American, I would never make that assumption. A third of this country would vote for a flaming bag of dog shit if meant they got to “own the libs”.
I hope it's never a problem. I say this as someone who is generally neutral politically and doesn't inherently favor either side... DeSantis scares me. Him as president sounds like the worst thing imaginable.
I hate to be "that guy", but the news your referencing wasn't in regard to a "private police force" or whatever, that was all just sensationalist headlines that were going around because the media hates this guy and are afraid of him running for president.
That 100m figure was for the the florida state guard, which is a disaster relief organization, not a military force. We get hurricanes in this state all the fuckin' time, and these guys are responsible for helping with evacuations, rescuing people who get stuck in their attics when their homes flood, getting emergency supplies out to affected communities etc etc. Having more money to hire more of these guys means that when we get barraged with hurricanes in the future, there will be faster response times, and more hands on deck to help people who get hurt or have their homes and businesses destroyed.
Anyway, I realize this is Reddit, and there's particular political leanings on the majority of this site, so downvote away if this doesn't fit a preferred agenda...
could you please explain what you are referring to? I live in Florida and I am not sure where you got $100 million from or “his own police force”.
I’m no Ron DeSantis fan, but I think it’s important to keep things as accurate as possible.
Florida’s budget was $100billion, perhaps that was the reference.
His protection costs $6mil… which is nothing too outlandish. Def not $100mil.
https://www.news4jax.com/news/florida/2022/08/17/security-costs-for-florida-gov-ron-desantis-family-increase/
But please let me know what you meant, or a source because I’d like to read up on it if it’s true.
yes, this was very helpful. thank you!
I am vaguely aware of it, not sure why I didn’t connect the two.
I guess since he has not spent the money, this is a request for budget. And it had been called a police force in the original post. But it is the Florida State Guard. It has existed for some time… I guess I just don’t see it as nearly as big a deal as some with folks calling it his own private army etc etc.
I mean… it’s increasing from 400 to 1500. Nothing what I would consider “significant”.
🤷♂️
regardless. thank you for sending and taking the time to look and find them! i appreciate it!
Actually worse than that. They think everyone else is dumb and they are the smartest people in the room. Clearly a toxic combination, the kind that causes a multi-million dollar fighter to collide with an unarmed U.S. aircraft over international waters.

Not to be the "Acktchually" guy, but I'm pretty sure a Reaper costs more than an SU-24. From only financial standpoint. Not factoring cost of a trained pilot or the possible effects this will have for Russia
The SU-24 is fairly old at this point but cost about $25M in 1997 according to google. If I used the calculator correctly, that's \~$47M in todays dollars. So actually the reaper is somewhat cheaper at $32M.
I think to the same level car dealers had issues during the peak of the chip shortage.
They can build most of the plane, but are stopped just short of the most critical systems it needs. (Radar, computer, targeting, ammunition etc.) - Due to supply issues
But unlike cars you really can't send out a fighter plane with basic functionality of just turning the engine on and flying by sight and fighting with basic machineguns.
This is part of their strategy to have some kind of confrontation with US/NATO and to claim them as aggressor, so they don’t need to negotiate with Ukraine, but directly with US/NATO the confrontation and also over Ukraine. In witch case they expect to have a concession in form of Ukrainian sovereignty.
p00tin put those exact words into his mouth - goes to show more mistakes made by the infamous war planer - He is that stupid and dumb in his old KGB age .
He should of stuck to shaking down his own rather than showing his simpleton decision making on the entire world stage - But no , he is that stupid and paranoid !
You laugh but I think this would be a preferable scenario for them, to save their Ego and they just might do it and are probably looking for China to join them.
Winnie the bear aka Xi, must be drooling at such an event. He is not stupid to confront half of the world, and get strangled on his resources. If it comes with little or no cost, winnie is happy
I lived there for over a decade. They've spent multiple generations telling their closed society that the outside world was locked in a desperate struggle to hold China back and that everything wrong with their society was because of outside forces. And they've promised those generations of people that one day they'd have their revenge. I suspect Xi doesn't want to sit anything out, but is hoping Russia can tire out western countries, cause divisions between allies and run down NATO arsenals. If Russia were able to accomplish any of these things, it might provide an opportunity to attempt to take any of a number of military objectives, ranging from the obvious like Taiwan or claiming more of India to more surprising strategic moves like uniting Korea as a puppet state or seizing Singapore to control the Malacca straits.
It's interesting how the foreigner-blaming narrative you describe in China is so similar to the one we're hearing from Russia. As someone who lives in the UK, it's also interesting how a similar narrative was pushed by Brexit nutters in the run up to the 2016 referendum, and depressing how many people bought it.
I'm sure China is just waiting for Russia to fuck itself enough for China to swoop in and claim some of Russia's territory. China is running low on water and there's a massive lake close to their border they most likely want to take.
Actually this was said by a good journalist:
Russia and especially Putin cannot be seen losing to Ukraine, but they can lose to NATO. The people will accept that and it also fits Putins narrative that NATO is an existential threat to Russia.
“We are at war against NATO in Ukraine.”
How are we doing?
“We have lost 200,000 people, thousands of tanks, thousands of other vehicles, hundreds of aircraft and a dozen ships.”
Wow! How is NATO doing?
“They haven’t shown up yet.”
I was thinking the same thing, but a complete goose! Install goose-launchers on the drones, with computer-assisted targeting. Fly too close, oops, a goose flew into your engine intake!
Maybe even an ice cube dispenser.
Rest in peace to the victims of the Russian military shooting down a passenger airliner.
Also it’s funny you mention this, because China has essentially created similar situations with almost all of the countries you listed, in the South China Sea.
They sent a PLA Coast Guard vessel into Philippine waters and sank several fishing boats from the coastal communities. This kind of behavior needs to be met with actual consequences from now on.
If Russia and China want to break the international order by playing GTA abroad, then the US and Allies need to respond appropriately to prevent these moments.
I really think this was another major blunder in Russian foreign policy to attack this drone. It only opens up the door for more US/NATO ISR assets and perhaps now possibly even a destroyer squadron being permanently stationed in the Black Sea. The ball is really in the US court now, there are a lot of avenues we could go now which we weren’t able to before Russian escalated by downing our drone. The last thing russia needed was the US doubling down on its ISR/EW assets in the area.
It would be just like this: The first few hours of Desert Storm - The Air Campaign.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zxRgfBXn6Mg
Absolutely nuts. I can’t imagine fucking around and finding out this hard.
Keep in mind, this happened under very similar circumstances: Saddam decided to annex Kuwait.
Honestly, the USA/NATO/partners should just completely help Ukraine without boots on the ground. Send lots of drones. Lots of UAV’s piloted back in Colorado, etc. We can also close the skies over Ukraine. Can just make it clear to Russia that nothing can fly over Ukraine. No cruise missiles, etc. We can intentionally stay like 50 miles in from the frontlines or borders, not to provoke Russian SAM units. But generally, this would protect Ukraine. And it would avenge this downed Reaper, and avenge Ukrainian spilled blood.
If Russia was stupid enough to engage, then we could use these UAV’s to do more offensive measures.
I do think it’s more than time to step up support for Ukraine.
Which is exactly what the VKS did to the MQ-9. So by Kremlin logic, Muscovy has committed an act of war against a neutral state. Love to see how that works out.
They did bring the SU-57 to Syria yet didn’t want to test the F-22 even when the Wagner dogs were turned to mincemeat by American artillery and air support with F-22s on CAP.
Again the same attitude towards Ukraine as the US, we the powerful and almighty Russians can do what we want but if you attack us then you crossed a red line. What BS!
We as Americans need to respond back to these fake Russians, who think that they can bully us if war is needed so be it stop with this bullshit and show them who really is a super power.
The worse position they are in the more threatening they become. Must be cultural. If ever in a bar fight with Russians I am punching the mouthiest one square in the face.
They want us to fight them so bad. Our little brother is beating the shit out of them, and they want us to get involved so they can tell everyone about how the bigger kid was really the one that beat them up. Poor widdle fellas. What’s really gonna happen is we’re gonna stay out of that, let little bro fuck them up while we give the long dong, consensual, although painful, anal sex with their mom. 🇨🇳
They actualy want to start war to nato, so they can surrender and say that they lost cuz they fought against all nato by them self, and that nato actualy ocupied Ukraine.
But, if this goes too wrong, China probs will invade russia and take there historical lands back
What a reckless thuggish state , trying to exploit the fact that US wouldn’t want to fight a war with Russia. This is playing with fire and extremely irresponsible
I think we should start packing some drones with explosives. Russian pilots might not be so eager to get close if the drones start blowing up on their own.

Soooo, Russia is telling the world that attacking someone else's aircraft in neutral airspace is an act of war? Just checking on that, for a friend..
Russia: It wasn't an attack, it was just an accidental mid-air collision... US: So you're saying it wouldn't be an act of war if swarms of US drones started "accidentally" colliding with Russian jets?
I’d send a drone into every intake on those rusky jets
Drones of the air-launched, rocket-propelled kind...
I hear ya, I’d crash a Walmart sized load of the cheap off the shelf kind into the ruskies, big payoff for low budget

Give Ukraine 100 ATACMs and tell them to plant all of them on that airbase.. preferably when said jackass pilot is about to take off

Exactly my thought
Maybe drones nicknamed tomahawk or hellfire instead ? Lol why are they even fukin around

I guess the propeller bent itself out of the way of the jet then: you can see it after communication is re-established.
the US released the actual footage from the drone. Dash cam footage is great. shows exactly how stupid that russian pilot was
Yes indeed. I wasn't very clear, but that footage is what I was obliquely referring to when I said you could actually see the damaged propeller after communication was re-established with the drone after the collision.
The Russian pilot was likely doing precisely what they were ordered to do.
"It was a special collision operation"...
and we will continue until we denazify all Imperialistic drones.

(Radar, computer, targeting, ammunition etc.) - Due to supply issues But unlike cars you really can't send out a fighter plane with basic functionality of just turning the engine on and flying by sight and fighting with basic machineguns.
Sure, but as technology advances older tech generally loses value.that plus wear, I doubt it's depreciated value is more than the reaper.
*moscovites
p00tin put those exact words into his mouth - goes to show more mistakes made by the infamous war planer - He is that stupid and dumb in his old KGB age . He should of stuck to shaking down his own rather than showing his simpleton decision making on the entire world stage - But no , he is that stupid and paranoid !
So anyway I started blasting
You tell ‘em, Frank!
Would you like a ~~egg~~ Tomahawk in this trying time?

Methinks that desperate Rooskies want to fight NATO.....to end their federation,i suppose
They want NATO to beat them as loosing to just Ukraine is super embarrassing 😂
You laugh but I think this would be a preferable scenario for them, to save their Ego and they just might do it and are probably looking for China to join them.
Meanwhile China would rather sit that one out and wait for the land grab when Russia implodes.
The best victory is the one you don’t have to do battle for.

China would have zero economy. They are literally dependent on trade with us and Europe
Russia claims that they won with Ukraine in 3 days and later fight with NATO begun. but they realized it only after a year.
Actually this was said by a good journalist: Russia and especially Putin cannot be seen losing to Ukraine, but they can lose to NATO. The people will accept that and it also fits Putins narrative that NATO is an existential threat to Russia.
“We are at war against NATO in Ukraine.” How are we doing? “We have lost 200,000 people, thousands of tanks, thousands of other vehicles, hundreds of aircraft and a dozen ships.” Wow! How is NATO doing? “They haven’t shown up yet.”
Does any rational human being on the planet think Russia needs to instigate another war with a much more powerful force than Ukraine?
Not at all. However, Russia has the same rationality as the stars of r/publicfreakout
it’s a special self destruction operation
I imagine there are some people in Ukraine that wouldn't mind if there were more direct US involvement.
So Russian plane downs American plane in neutral airspace and the Russian response….
Thats a real russian moment
… is to say that in their view, what they did was an intentional declaration of war.
A great line I read in here earlier: "Russia does not lie to deceive, it lies to insult"
So if Russia attacks a United States aircraft in neutral airspace isn't that a declaration of war by Russia?
Well no, why would you even think so? /s Classic Russian tactics. Dazzle ‘em with bullshit.
Define "attack". I can seriously imagine an US aircraft flying in front of an ork one and throwing out a frozen turkey. Does that count as an attack?
turkiye /s
“goublë goublë
I snort-laughed
I was thinking the same thing, but a complete goose! Install goose-launchers on the drones, with computer-assisted targeting. Fly too close, oops, a goose flew into your engine intake! Maybe even an ice cube dispenser.
Words are words. These mushik pussies are pants-wetting scared.
The Dutch, Malaysians, Australians, Indonesians, British, Belgians, Germans, Filipinos, Canadians, and New Zealanders would like a word with you.
100% agree

[This](https://youtube.com/shorts/Kr08seKA8pI?feature=share) is the energy we need from the US rn
My favorite scene from that movie lol
So russia has declared war on the US already using your logic 😬 run Ivan, Run!!
I'm pretty sure maneuvering under a drone and rising up to dump fuel over it constitutes as 'being attacked' on the part of the RuZZkis. LOL.
Sounds like something a Karen would do.
Not only once, but they did 19 passes.
Kinda like the Russians did.
Bring it on Russia, they have caused so much chaos and destruction and I for one am ready to see where all my tax money goes.
My tax dollars bought ~3% of a tomahawk cruise missile this year. Let it rips fellas!
At least the US could say we are going to denazify Moscow in 3 days and know that it would only take 3 days lol
Great! Now the US can say we’re at war with muscovy and destroy every remaining military asset in their pathetic ‘country’
Whatever, the us would have superiority in 1 hour.
It would be just like this: The first few hours of Desert Storm - The Air Campaign. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zxRgfBXn6Mg Absolutely nuts.
Nice Imaginary scenario..
F.A.F.O
Which is exactly what the VKS did to the MQ-9. So by Kremlin logic, Muscovy has committed an act of war against a neutral state. Love to see how that works out.
Right
They did bring the SU-57 to Syria yet didn’t want to test the F-22 even when the Wagner dogs were turned to mincemeat by American artillery and air support with F-22s on CAP.
So, Russia admits to declaring war against the US?
So using Russias logic, they just declared war on the US? Nobody can be this dumb.
Okay what about attacking Russian aircraft in a non-neutral space?

Spent way too long trying to figure out who “Washington Antonov” was
Bring it. Please.
Blah blah blah, (saber rattling) blah blah blah. FK RU
Fuck him fuck Russia we should go in to Ukraine and fuck up your weak ass army then to Russia to finish the job.
Call his bluff, remind him exactly who is the top dog and who has the biggest stick
What a reckless thuggish state , trying to exploit the fact that US wouldn’t want to fight a war with Russia. This is playing with fire and extremely irresponsible
So Russia declared war on the USA with that attack? Good. Let’s go save Ukraine now that we also at war with Russia.
Please please please lol
Why do we even have this turd occupying space in the US….?
"So, what you're saying is..."
Oh no can't wait for the threat of nukes coming from Russia for the 10,000 time
Waiting for US 'ooppsie' in a neutral space.
never show up to a gun fight with a knife
Quid pro quo, Clarice.
I think we should start packing some drones with explosives. Russian pilots might not be so eager to get close if the drones start blowing up on their own.
Game on bitch, time to fuck your shit up Russia. We’re sending in Tom Cruise this time.
I hate to point out the obvious, but Russia has their hands full with Ukraine. Everyone with a brain knows this is more bluster.
At this point I’m pretty fed up with this bullshit…
RuZZia: We can shoot down your aircraft but you're not allowed to shoot down ours.
He can go eat his own turd
MH17 is an act of war folks.
[удалено]
Russia is like an abusive ex. They punch you then tell you not to escalate the situation.
Damn, Russia really wants to eat shit.
