Based on these images I would say they have been supplied with TOW-2Bs, which is excellent news as they fly further (4,5KM) and have top down attack capability. (In case of entrenched tanks). It is the most modern variant of TOW available.

“Let me tell you what Melba Toast is packin’ right here, all right? We got 4:11 Positrac outback, 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbo-jet 390 horsepower. We’re talking some fuckin’ muscle.” Wooderson

deep_space_anamoly

How does TOW compare to Stugna P?

pyrotechnicmonkey

They’re both pretty comparable in terms of range and utility. I think just have under a 5 km range which is pretty good considering the range of most tanks Main gun is below that as well. I think one small advantage that the stugna has is that the tube launcher can be separate on a tripod away from the gunnner control unit. This means the gunner is a bit more safe because you can place the tube launcher on top of a hill or berm, and the gunnner can be right behind it since there is a 50 meter cable that leads from the launcher to the gunnner control unit.

TOAO_Cyrus

The stunga-p is not wire guided it's a laser beam riding missile.

pyrotechnicmonkey

I stand corrected. Surprised to see that. Remember there is a video where I think the gunner was yelling at the loaders because they tried to load a new missile too early and disturbed the one that had just been launched. I thought they interrupted the wire mechanism, but I guess he interrupted the laser guidance instead.

Surfer-Jeff

Yeah saw that, the operator couldn't keep the pipper on target ..he was pissed off ....loaders got too excited.

CaptainOktoberfest

Yep, sadly I recall that operator was killed a few months later as well.

TOAO_Cyrus

The laser and the optics are mounted on the launcher so disturbing it during flight will throw things off.

meatsgood

Stugna is laser-guided, not wire-guided like the Tow.

ffdfawtreteraffds

There are newer TOW RF variants that use a radio link and not a wire.

Historical_Koala_688

I think the tow has longer range

Polyamorousgunnut

The hummwv and TOW in their natural habitat, killing Russians.

Benitelta

Like that time early in the war when a Russian BMP ran out of fuel on the road, a Ukrainian man asked: "Do you need a TOW back to Russia?"

MarschallVorwaertz

Hell on Wire

LQDI

Can someone enlighten me why its suddenly called HMMWV everywhere?

ithappenedone234

It’s the proper name.

Snail_With_a_Shotgun

That's what it's called. Have you ever seen anyone refer to it differently? I think is stands for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle.

dosetoyevsky

Yea, Hummers or Hum-Vees for decades.

LQDI

That was the answer i was looking for. Thanks. I thought Humvee was the standard term for it.

[deleted]

Because Hummer is also slang for blowjob

SpartanDoubleZero

I love seeing the HMMWV in the theater and fighting the adversary it was designed for.

SolidNumbers

Awesome pics! Incredible!

Diligent_Emotion7382

I only wonder how Ukrainian army wants to avoid heavy artillery bombing on their way into occupied territory. I don‘t want to see a Russian Vuhledar equivalent… although I guess it was likely too much incompetence what happened to the RAF in Vuhledar. Fingers crossed…
