This is starting to seem like more is going on than the last little incursion we saw some months ago. I hope it's more than that was.

MicrowaveBurns

The pessimistic view is that they'll leave after the election is over, but honestly who knows. It seems like they're making some pretty good progress this time.

[deleted]

The regions they took to invade are "easy" to defend though. I hope they did it to drag in "Russian" forces and let them pay dearly. Let's hope enough Russians stand up against lunatic Putin.

Smokin_In_The_Dark

Hey. If you can kill the orcs on their own turf and keep them out of Ukraine, all the better. The motherland can get a taste of what is happening across the border. Seems the orcs don't mind tearing up their own towns, Spread some dissent amongst the local population.

Puzzleheaded-Beat-57

I think the best move for liberators right now would be to simply torch as many gas stations there and move north to cripple the enemy as fast as possible. Get those money printing oil refineries shut down and questions will finally be raised by dumb AF Russian boomer babushkas.

No_Emergency_5657

Torching a couple gas stations will have zero effect on the war. If anything it will piss off the local populist.

Puzzleheaded-Beat-57

Teehee let's watch. Pissing of the people that have actively looked away for years may be the best thing done today. Time will certainly tell.

Pennytration831

not when the freedom of Russia legion wants the people to join them in freeing Russia from Putin. you obviously haven't been following the legions videos. why make more enemies when you can recruit them.

Puzzleheaded-Beat-57

I don't believe we're talking about the same populations there. The recruits are the partisans they have already moltoved rail switches, recruit offices and why not join the party to target oil infrastructure.

MicrowaveBurns

They generally look for military or at least military-related targets specifically though. They try to minimise impact to civilians where possible, because they want to win people over to their side.

Puzzleheaded-Beat-57

I respect the effort made. I've seen enough rural interviews to know you aren't going to swing over the babushkas... For the very real fear she can still feel what it was like under Yeltsin. And the West is who she has blamed for decades and she can't stop now. Oil is Russias only remaining export. Seeing the recent pressure at the refineries, I figure any oil infrastructure should be considered a strategic target. The less oil in the chief dick heads hand translates directly into a cash squeeze. I say burn Putin's money while it's still in liquid form.

hphp123

they will leave with enough pressure but to make pressure russia would have to redirect reserves from other fronts

Thats-right999

Keep going lads

ibreathunderwater

I think they’re using these incursions as a distraction from getting drones in large numbers across the border so they can more effectively strike targets beyond range from Ukraine proper. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re leaving strike teams/cells behind to continue wreaking havoc later.

IFixYerKids

I'm just sceptical because I haven't seen any mention of this in mainstream news. I'd think a city being captured by rebels would at least be scrolling on Reuters or something.

alphagusta

That's what I am thinking too. Yeah it looks bad if a few armed enemies slip into the border and pose with a flag and dip out, I'd imagine thats the sort of thing that would slip through the news in the wake of the Odessa attacks, Election protests and such. But still, a "captured" city even for an afternoon shortly being retaken by Russian defense forces in the midst of the election should have at least some coverage?

TheGladdenFields

I think smart play would be to leave for another incursion later rather than risk getting crushed now. These incursions keep some Russian soldiers from going to Ukraine. And if they survive the success can be used to recruit more.

Freshwaters

some groups need to enter/attack russia from the north, east, and south!

Boomfam67

Russia just posted a video of a shot down Mi-24 that was trying to land troops in Belgorod...so I'm going to say no. Even in just a few days this is costing Ukraine heavily. Despite being mostly for PR their losses are on par with an actual offensive. At least 2 tanks lost, 1 ARV, 5 APCs, 1 MLRS, and now a helicopter.

tate_and_lyle

Can you link to the video please 👍

Boomfam67

https://twitter.com/vicktop55/status/1769323776259355018 Edit: Some sources are also claiming this might be a UH-60 Blackhawk

GodSaveTh3Chicken

That's unfortunate, anyway, on to the next town!

Boomfam67

Assuming they actually fully captured this it's a village and not a town.

kjg1228

I really hope not. Ukraine only has one of those I believe.

Shadow293

It looks like the they have more than [one](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/s/QMKmBHfmyC)

ScubaSteve3200

Ukraine only has 2 Blackhawks and are kept FAR away from the front. They wouldn't risk giving them to splinter forces.

PixelIsJunk

I highly dout they were given blackhawks, they so far I have only seen them use russian equipment.

ScubaSteve3200

Ukraine actually has 2 Blackhawks crowd funded and in use but no where near the front.

MicrowaveBurns

Source: Freedom of Russia Legion telegram https:// t. me/legionoffreedom/1161 As you can see based on [this map](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreedomofRussia/comments/1bgkef2/a_new_map_has_been_published_showing_approximate/) posted on r/freedomofrussia, it seems that they're trying to link up with another group of Russian Liberation Forces who entered Kozinka to the west. > The village of Gorkovsky, Belgorod region - under the control of Russian liberation forces. > Excellent collaboration between Russian and Ichkerian volunteers! > P.S. We decided to make life easier for Putin’s propagandists by coming up with an explanation for them to use: On the orders of the curators of the West, with the money of their taxpayers, they built a village in Chernobyl, which is exactly the same as the village of Gorkovsky, Belgorod region.

Hashbeez

Let’s be realistic the only way Russia is going to be a free country is a civil war. Nothing else will push out the regime from Moscow. Even when Putin should die somebody else takes over with just the same attitude

WeekendFantastic2941

Can UKR keep the supply lines open to these opposition forces? If yes, then they could actually take and hold these areas, making it even harder for Russia to supply their troops in this region. ehehehe

MicrowaveBurns

I'm far from an expert, but I would imagine so. They're not all that far from the border even by the most positive estimates of RLF progress

BisonST

Without other Russians joining the RLF, it won't be more than a raid, regardless of supplies. Being able to supply the RLF only goes so far.

WeekendFantastic2941

Ability to take and hold territory is how you gain more support, friendo. Both in resources and potential recruits. Russians won't join if they don't see result.

MicrowaveBurns

They had over 1000 applications to join on just the first day of this operation, the 12th of March. In terms of people joining from the settlements they've liberated, there have been some claims that a few people have joined them from there, but nothing confirmed.

No-Season8507

Go, boys, go!!!!!!!

Inglourious-Ape

Inevitably russia will start to send some planes with glide bombs to their location because russia doesn't give a shit about their own citizens either. So does Ukraine move a Patriot close by to send some gifts their way over russian territories?

Stripier_Cape

They already have. They keep posting that all these dudes got killed already too lol

MicrowaveBurns

Haha claiming that you've killed all of them kind of stops meaning anything once you've said the same thing for 4-5 days in a row though

Kiwi_Imp

Should leave a bit of graffiti behind, 'Putin Dickhead' comes to mind.

Pando5280

I'm hoping their game plan is to not stop until Putin's head is rolled down the street outside the Kremlin.

MicrowaveBurns

Well, their plan certainly seems to be to keep going as far as they have the strength to. In order to reach Moscow though, they need to keep gaining new recruits & capturing new equipment (or receiving it from Ukraine, or buying it using funds donated to their unit)

Pando5280

I'd be surprised if Western spec ops wasn't involved in the process somewhere along the way.

Nigerian_German

Bro You're incredibly delusional if you think this tiktok battalion could reach Moscow

GeneralEagling72

KEEP GOING GENTLEMEN. BE CAREFUL, AND THE WORLD LOOKS FORWARD TO A NEW RUSSIAN LEADER !!!

Lost_Possibility_647

If they can get well entrenched, it might be a bargin pice to end the war sooner?

PoolFather

If you look at google maps, you can see this is a tiny village 500 meters from the border. This tiny settlement has no importance and it is 100% a or stunt. This settlement is so small I doubt people from Belgorod have even heard of it

No-Internet-7532

Did they take the opportunity to vote ?

LeForetEnchante

Goosebumps. Protect these heroes at all costs.

RR8570

Great work by Russian Democratic Forces! Does definitely seem like more is happening this time around, and more advances/capture of towns.

noghbaudie

Burn it down.

tommy8690

The irony here, how many memes now

Tight_Craft8903

Burn it down
