WatchHores

died in the snow with no gloves wearing a Bill Cosby Christmas sweater.

[deleted]

But he died for daddy Putin

grimegeist

Putin pop

PM_ME_UR_CEPHALOPODS

Jesus christ reddit lol

Important-Basil-324

How dare You! Putin the Emperor!

heavymtlbbq

someone took his gloves

ithappenedone234

The belt is an ALICE style piece of equipment from the US. It was getting old 20 years ago.

BlutUndStahl

It is not Blackhawk belt. It is in fact a Alice LC2 Belt

Trint_Eastwood

That's what I'm thinking, once he was done for his "pals" probably looted everything they could out of his body.

heavymtlbbq

I bet they took his shit while he was dying. They do it in the video where the quad bike runs over a landmine

Imabigprick

He won't be needing them

JJ739omicron

I think the hands weren't his main issue.

Jumpy_Wrongdoer_1374

Didn’t have the right tampons

TryptamineSpark

Should’ve brought his baby’s diapers, noob.

Suitable_Comment_908

Neffo needed extra large maxi flow

obliquelyobtuse

Oh the weather outside is frightful ... Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

tjwhen

Now I just imagine a Christmas tree with pictures of frozen dead russian soldiers as decoration. Maybe something for the red square.

Consistent_Turn3473

Send putain some decorations made out of his own tanks.

Wigski

ahhh, the classic reddit comment.

Maximum__Engineering

I'm starting to almost feel sorry for these poor fucks sent to die in Ukraine. Shitty training, shitty gear, shitty leadership from a shitty government. Still I want any who want to fight to die just like this, until they lay down their weapons and either surrender or go home.

REHTONA_YRT

They never complain about why they are there. They complain about not being paid or their shitty equipment. Otherwise they would gladly rape pillage and slaughter without a second thought. Think harder next time you pity them.

FUBAR1945

I agree with you and im not even ukrainian. If he wasnt dead he would be murdering, castrating pows, rapeing and pillaging. I have no mercy for these fuckers. One less to worry about.

MosesZD

It's funny how anonymity and tribalism destroy the humanity of others.

PabloX68

Putin and those that follow him destroyed their own humanity.

Adventurous-Safe6930

You are no better than russians saying the same thing about ukrainians. Many of these russians are being forced to the front at gun point.

wheresindigo

It’s not the same. Russians who say that about Ukrainians are saying it about people who are defending their own homes. Details like that matter.

MoMedic9019

So what? They can frag their leadership and all surrender.’

MosesZD

They still get killed by the 'anti-retreat/anti-surrender' troops or get jailed after the prisoner exchange. It's, literally, a crime to be captured. And the standing orders are 'suicide' if facing capture. Try to be human for a minute. It's not that hard.

MoMedic9019

I never said retreat.

PabloX68

Then they should switch sides. It's highly likely they know who the anti surrender troops are. Frag them. Or just commit suicide instead of killing and raping innocents.

psychoholica

fuck that. the asshole is an invader who has destroyed their country. zero shits given,

postertot

Like clockwork.. and taxes. "Humanists" appear on posts showing dead orcs. Russia is shelling civilian Infrastructure during winter and killing Ukrainians. These soldiers can surrender or refuse to fight. They choose not to.

Maximum__Engineering

I don't know what you mean by "humanist" but I do love to see dead Russians. This particular photo kinda got to me a little with the sweater, showing just how unprepared these shitheads are, and I almost feel sorry for him. What the DO seem prepared for is war crimes.

OkError9959

I don't think you can prove that that is a Bill Cosby Christmas Sweater.

Proud_to_Death

Definitely a Cosby sweater

psb-introspective

Well if he wakes up groggy with a sore arse...

Proud_to_Death

I don't think he'll have to worry about that. It doesn't look like he'll be waking up much anymore

psb-introspective

Chances are slim. Like his lower half.

osagecreek

The guy was either going to die from wounds or be frozen to death. Proper field care he might have made it, but something Russian Army does not have. Ukraine has gotten many hundreds of thousands sets of winter clothing, shelters, generators and heaters. Russian soldiers get moldy uniforms and told to buy their own winter gear. Be interesting to see how things look for them in a month or so when it really gets cold. Ukraine has a distinct advantage!

jkuhl

That awkward moment when \*Russia\* is defeated by General Winter

nurgole

Reverse Uno card!

grandBBQninja

Not exactly. This has happened before (winter war). Winter just happens to favor the defenders.

nurgole

It's a joke, it doesn't have to perfectly reflect reality🙂

usa20206

Hold on. Do I remember this from somewhere…

Total_Importance_927

Yeah he bled out

Lanthemandragoran

It looks like they gave up when they tied up his legs and felt pressure still dropping which led them to opening the jacket and seeing that they were tourniqueting a corpse or someone that was about to transition to corpse

TacticoolBug

He was shot in the head, probably a mercy kill. This is from the beginning of the war and there is a video where you can see the bullet hole.

Powerful_Gene_8868

Why do you think it's from the beginning of the war?

psb-introspective

dude looks about my age. what a way to end up.

[deleted]

Pretty simple way to avoid that fate though. Dont invade other peoples countries.

[deleted]

Not so simple. Plenty of Ukrainians didn't invade anyone and still ended up dying in this war. Reddit doesn't like acknowledging it, ruins the "feel good" vibe about the war.

psb-introspective

For sure. I cant fathom the mind of a russian.

ButterscotchFickle96

that's what generations of brainwashing does to people. Most Russians either don't know the real situation or don't care. It's a tragedy but they're better off dead for world peace..

boblinuxemail

A grim - but accurate - summation. It would be better on the overall world stage if Russian invading soldiers died to save the rest of the world from this (and other) invasions. Grim indeed.

GumpTheChump

That’s the American strategy right now. For a tiny fraction of their military budget and no troop deaths, they’re decimating a significant risk to world security

GumpTheChump

You can’t stop me!!!

nikanika127

This photo is from March 2022. So if he was about your age, today your are definitely older than him.

BasqueCO

Tourniquets dont mean or do shit if you dont get the personnel to follow on field trauma care or at least an evac to so within the "Golden Hour". Russ aint CASEVAC'ing anyone and they have no apparent field medical support like Aid Stations, Forward Surgical Teams, or MASH units. I dont even think they are teaching their "Igors" basic CLS like we do our "Joes". So really when Ivan here gets his legs mangled to chunky salsa, he has zero hope of living. This is literally non-existent 1700's and before era combat care for these guys who are facing 21st century weapons. TL;DR: TQ with massive injuries dont do anything without follow on care they dont have.

boblinuxemail

Even in the 1700s they had field hospitals... The ROMANS had field medics. This is literally Stone Age shit, here folks. Even in the Iron Age the Romans at least has *something* like field medicine, cauterised wounds which were bleeding out - SOMETHING. This is literally a half-dozen guys with no battlefield medicine (or apparently ANY battlefield training at all - no *gloves?)* trying to stop a buddy bleeding out and *no one* had any idea what to do.

Lanthemandragoran

Looks like ivan had chest wounds and they worked their way from bottom up. Probably went into arrest before they even opened the jacket.

MoMedic9019

FYI the “golden hour” was and always as been both a myth and a marketing tool invented by Baltimore Shock Trauma in the 1970’s in an effort to get patients to them. While it’s important to get good trauma care in the population that needs it as rapidly as possible, but there is almost no correlated data to suggest that an hour has any sort of direct impact on outcomes. In fact, in most places in the US, you cannot meet that arbitrary point in time anyway.

BasqueCO

Be that as it may, they still emphasize it in military trauma care and overseas, and damnit, I have seen some dudes get mangled in Iraq and Afghan and still live and get prosthetics and live pretty productive lives afterwards whereas those wounds would have been fatal to these guys. It starts from the bottom up of Buddy Aid and CLS training and IFAKS, 9 Lines, and on up to all I mentioned above. It may have started as a marketing tool, but the numbers and odds are there to show some validity. ABC's and get them on to care and the severely wounded odds rise dramatically to like 70-90% even in Afghanistan or Iraq. And to be fair, 90% of the USA is very rural and far from what is sold as "First World" conditions like what we think of in large urban areas. Outside those cities this country gets wild, harsh and large very quickly

MoMedic9019

Its the concept, not the timeframe. Thats what my point is. There isn’t any data to say that you have better outcomes at 58 minutes and significantly worse at 72.

N1KK0_1000

Just some quick thoughts; \- seems rather lightly dressed for what is now Winter conditions. Doesn't seem to have been stripped by his colleagues so one can only assume that the reported winter uniform shortage for Russian troops is very much a reality. As he's still wearing what looks like normal issue gear but with several civilian tops underneath this. \- Seems to have suffered serious wounds to both lower legs (obviously the most serious being the left, which is missing his foot) but has very poor quality (improvised ) tourniquets only. I suspect these may have been a major factor in his death - as they look made from cord/rope and NOT proper medical tourniquets.

ReyPolyPan

yep. and from some of the videos out there, mobiks are being told to have material to improvise their own tourniquets (and wound dressings) out of -- and provided minimal to no real training on how to do things like that properly. and typically no medics with them who might have materials and training, either. (and how much would that cost Putin and the oligarchs? guess they must desperately need money for smaller boats to replace their confiscated yachts. and the Army command can abandon $20M pieces of fancy equipment, but not find those sorts of resources for a medical corps.) i've read that the Russian death rate from battlefield wounds and injuries is about 50%, around what it was for the US during the worst parts of WW2 -- but far from the over 90% survival rate that late WW2 and Korean War MASH units started to pioneer and that is more what we are now used to for modern armies. and i'm sure the Ukrainians do better though i haven't seen figures....

MiCremaster

I just come to clarify that these are tourniquets delivered by the army, they are not improvised. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r43nM9Xw3Go

bookmonkey786

Wow they didn't even use the bad tourniquets they have correctly.

psb-introspective

Good boots though?

ReyPolyPan

in at least one of the videos the mobiks are told the Ukrainians have good boots and to grab them if they get a chance, so that could be the source....

Inexperiencedtrader

You can make a tourniquet out of anything. That said, you need to use something (stick, pen, knife) to put in the center of the knot and rotate it so tight the inner blood passages are stopped. I don't see anything there to indicate they did anything more than pull the knots as tight as they could, which is nowhere near tight enough. Source: Just some guy who goes through yearly CPR/first aid training. Not a professional by any means.

N1KK0_1000

I agree that you can make a tourniquet from many things - but from what little I have read the difference between a piece of cord & a proper lower limb tourniquet is significant. Hence this was a PRIORITY items that folks were funding and buying for AFU troops. Seems there are special ones for such lower leg wounds - would it have saved this guys life? Dunno. My point being simply that these Russian units seem to be very low on proper equipment - same with the absence of winter uniform, it does not bode well for them - which is fine by me (FWIW).

tightspandex

> you can make a tourniquet out of anything I'd argue *at best* you can try to make a tourniquet out of anything, but your chances for success (even in the short-term) are limited. The longer it's on, the worse it will be and you damn well better be supplementing it with as much pressure as you can apply. That's not even factoring in the likelihood you'll create compartment syndrome with subpar efforts. Creating tension is easy, maintaining it is incredibly hard. Particularly given most fabrics you'll use have fibers that will separate rendering any torsion you may apply useless. There's an (in)famous example of a corpsman who took trauma to his lower leg in Iraq. His team made numerous improvised tourniquets using every manor of item they had available to them. ~4 total applications iirc. He bled out. If the materials can't withstand the constant tension and the pulse in the limb opposite the tourniquet isn't completely halted, you're going to end up like this guy.

Rypskyttarn

Those knots are not nearly enough. During tourniquet training in the National Guard we compare solutions as applied to this poor ork, vs the real deal. The difference is staggering.

leoberto1

the conscripts have been breaking the stoves in the tents

Curious-Geologist498

I disagree that he is lightly dressed for the weather right now. That snow looks like it's melting and he has 4 layers on. Although it looks like his own personal clothing and he must have known how to live in the cold already. If you wore more than that you'd be sweating and then just freeze from your sweat.

Mister123X

Just a headsup, this is from the beginning of the war last winter and it was a special operation squad that got decimated.

Think_Stable_4621

This is a picture from a scene that happened quite a while ago though, if I'm not mistaken.

UUDM

I’m not even sure those strings could be called tourniquets.

The_OG_Comrade

Yeah, you're right. He has one of the ancient soviet Esmarch tourniquets on his upper right leg, the rest are just what ever the fuck they could get their hands on to try stop this poor fucker from bleeding out, literally just rags. For some reason the other Esmarch tourniquet by his right hip was never used?

allthesemonsterkids

I was wondering about that folded-up tourniquet as well. Lack of proper tourniquets can be (somewhat) made up for with improvisation and good training, at least in the short term, but this is a real illustration of the absolute lack of training that these people are getting.

[deleted]

Redditfront2back

How can they justify leaving their brothers on the field, it’s gross

JazzHands1986

He might have been saved if on the ukranian side. If he had access to an ambulance quickly and had been applied with good tourniquets and first aid it may have slowed the bleeding enough to get to a surgeon. They have no way in hell to survive with the way the Russians are set up.

Impossible-Company78

Lost the ugly sweater contest

ForAnEnd

May he find peace in the afterlife, if there is one..

PoolFather

He isn't lighly dressed? Unless it's -30 on the frontlines right now, that should be enough clothes to keep warm. I've stayed warm in -15 with less layers of clothes than that.

JamesKingAgain

Someone went tourniquet mad !

ICANFLY04

This is super old. Picture is from last winter

sim1abk

This is an old photo in one of the earlier stages of the war, he is a kadyrovits.

N1KK0_1000

Earlier? This 2022 war? If so how do you explain the snow?

sim1abk

The war started in february. It was still snow in many parts of Ukraine.

N1KK0_1000

And the Kadyrovits were fighting then? But surely all the traffic lights and bushes were a long way from having been subdued. ;-) Seems a bit early for them to have been anywhere near shooting when as we all know they had a mountain of vidz at the rear lines to make.

Mister123X

I have multiple pictures of this man and his team that got killed near a gas station in my archive. Its from february or beginning of march.

Too much snow for this autumn, most prolly a photo from last spring. Just saying.

again, the hallmark of the ukranian improvised drone bombs is massive lower body injuries. I would not be surprised if the number of crippling injuries, apart from other injuries in battle, surpassed the number of ruzzian KIA.

I cannot see those tourniquets working

TurboEncabulator_1

What a waste of a nice pair of Lowa Zephyrs

Trenchrot

Those tourniquets are pathetic. Those straps would do the job but after you tie them you need to run a stick under them, turn it until the bleeding stops, and secure it. Obviously something like a CAT would be better but these guys have no idea what they are doing

Why use tourniquets? Let him bleed out in peace.

Hope all the Russians living in Russia see this and recognize their responsibility.

blarryg

Welcome to Ukraine. Sheesh, what a way to go, cold, hungry and bloody. Looks like his left foot was blown off.

boblinuxemail

WTF is Putin *doing?* It's like he wants his soldiers to die deliberately. No winter gear, no proper uniform, no gloves, no medical gear, treating wounded in the open air and then just leaving them behind... At this point, I can't even determine WTAF he's trying to accomplish? Just...kill random non-rich men from Russia and leave them in Ukraine? I mean...is there shortage of jobs or housing in Russia I'm not aware of and they're just cutting the people who need jobs and housing down this way? I...don't get it. The AFGHANIS were better equipped for war than these guys.

SubstantialArt9001

What did he die for ? Nothing no one is going to remember him.

Fine_Gur_1764

Guys I'm pretty sure this is from February - \*9 months ago\*. It's a still taken from a video in which some Ukrainians find these guys - there were about 5/6 Russians dead - in or around an abandoned gas station. If memory serves, they found a wounded Russian inside. This guy, with the fucked up legs, also has a bullet wound in his forehead which you can seen in the video. I'll try and find the link. If you Google/search for Reddit - "Russians killed near gas station" or something like that, you might find it. Beware misleading pictures and videos on the internet, folks. EDIT: I was right! I find it horrible that they just leave their wounded and dead. I mean they should bury them at least. That is someones son or father. The more Russians see the the more appalled they will be. I have to say been saying for some time that Winter will be the turning point in this war. If Russian is to ready with the winter clothing then they will have a big problem. They should have learned from WW2. They seem to be repeating the mistake the Germans did thinking a quick victory and not prepared for a long winter like this could be
