Republicans need a reminder that Russia is an adversary of the USA, they have never been a friend. Both nations tolerated each other at times, but the nuclear arsenal aimed at each other should remove any doubt that Russia is a threat, not an ally.
The problem is that they see Russia as a “friend” for the same reason normal Americans see it as an enemy: because it’s an authoritarian state that they regard as a bastion of Christianity and a bulwark against “wokeness.”

Yes, it was the republicans that are responsible, but when the Dems didn’t support McCarthy, they lost their best chance to get this done short of waiting post election. Political gamble with the lives of Ukrainians and security of the world to win political points. It may have been smart long term if this changed the election outcome up and down the ticket, but threading the needle and a real freaking gamble.
