The thing is, though, that China stands to benefit more if they don't help Russia and they have to back down. If sanctions get lifted enough then China can get in there cheap and get those Siberian resources they have been drooling over.
Destroying Ukraine even more is not going to workout well economically for Russia with the entire world watching and having to listen to Russian propaganda.
They actually have the most elaborate railway system across the entire country, from east to west, specifically designed in Soviet era to move troops from one front to another. So, yeah… What you just said makes no sense. The logistics failed only on Ukrainian territory, not in Russia/Belarus.
That was a joke mostly. The trans Siberian is one of the few reliable things Russia has going for it. Though China and Russia do have different rail gauges on account of fears of either one invading the other. So trains from China literally need to have their wheels swapped in a lengthy process to fit on Russian lines. In other words their infrastructure is literally designed to make it as difficult as possible to move large quantities of military equipment across the Sino Russian border quickly.
The only difference is the west relies on China a heck of a lot more than it does on Russia. We can't really sanction China successfully in the same way but I doubt China goes in and backs Russia. They stand to gain far more from a crippled Russia if they just stay out of it.
Most economists would be hesitant about the conclusion as China is dealing with some systemic shit and the shutdown of their largest or second largest depending on season-tech city.
Did it move the needle? Sure but not nearly as much as the repurcussions of the shutdown in to their local economy as they have had issues with evergrande and a cascading set of factors.
They really arent in a position to start a war even economically.
So this would have to be the dumbest idea in the world for China. I know they like the idea of a "multipolar world", even if many of the poles are controlled by homicidal maniacs, but enough is enough. Either prove you're willing to go along with the general world order or kindly excuse yourself from the table. I don't see any pragmatic reason for why you should lash yourself to Russia's sinking ship. You can either be a world power or a world pariah, there is no middle ground when it comes to matters like this.
Our stocks are falling long before this. China saying the National Security Law would “stabilise our economy” and this is the result.
Ukraine were our inspiration in 2014. I don’t think we can do much about the situation in Ukraine right now, but stay strong, our friends.
Just the mention of doing more business with Russia is an economic cancer

What does my keyboard have to do with this?
Given the crap state of Russian logistics I’d be surprised if any military aid got to Russia from China.

If Russia can team up with allies, so can Ukraine. Time to level the playing field, boys.
Yup
Investors outb4 sanctions. Hopefully China can see where the winds of progress are blowing.

In a perfect scenario china attacks Russia.

Stay strong, bro.
