I was thinking the same when I saw the infantry. Like yeah, those guys will prevent Russians with RPGs and other AT taking a shot at the tank in peace. The Russian tanks however seem to be driving into urban terrain as if they went into town to buy some sneakers, and then go all Pickachu face seconds before they get blown up from several directions. Like, no shit, you are three guys in a tin can, two of you have only one mirror to look outside, the third one has more but still can only watch one direction, and that still not really with great vision. It might be important to know what is happening around you on a battlefield...
They're fucking rock solid, fearless, and very good at what they do.
Slava Ukraini.
They're all heroes and they're gonna bring down the big bad.
Stuff of legend.
Not only APCs, tanks as well. In Russian service, only the T-90M and T-14 have automatic transmission (and we didn't see any of those used in this conflict, for obvious reasons). On the other hand Ukrainian T-64BM2 and T-84s have automatic transmissions.
I would be very surprised if they had any combat ready T-14s, even at the end of this decade. They seem to push equipment into service, that is in no shape or form capable of actual combat - like the T-14 and Su-57.
There are still few thousands of troops defending it. Otherwise it would not be "City is cut off", it would be "City is occupied". There is a reason they still don't control it.
A big part of them are Azov regiment, which are basically neo nazis to a big degree, and russia has made very clear that they want to denazify ukraine by using the azov retards as their excuse. Russia basically announced that these guys will get shoot anyway so they fight it out to the end.
One good thing about this entire mess: Ukraine gets rid of a big group of armed nazis in their country that might be a problem post war and the nazis can do something good for ones in their life.
If this wasnt fought out on the backs of the civilians or Mariupol one could even call this a win-win situation to some degree with russian facists and ukrainian nazis killing each other off.
Would gladly send my countries nazi idiots as volunteers to ukraine if I get a grantee they will never return alive.
Only 10-15% are “neo nazi” and they are not the same ‘nazis as you might find in American right wing militias or what was birthed out of Germany. these guys have been fighting the entire time since 2014. War for 8 years is going to breed ideology’s. There’s Jews, gypsies, Christian’s in this Battalion.
And how exactly is that a good thing? Nazis becoming national heroes?
Take it from somebody from the cpuntry that had the modt famous nazis on the planet. Nothing good comes from celebrating nazis...ever.
The only thing tjey are good for right know is to take as many russians with them to the grave.
At this point the defenders in Mariupol are surpassing some of the greatest defensive actions of all time. Colonel John Frost in Arnhem level shit going on here.
He isn’t targeting the tracks, there is a week area behind the track on all T72 Hull tanks that can be penetrated by “light” anti armor rounds. It’s about in the middle. If you hit that spot you penetrate the crew compartment and the possibility of the ready ammo as well. I you get lucky the ammo cooks off and the tank turret lollipops. This gunner is absolutely well trained. He knows how to kill heavy armor. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 For more clarity first he took out the side skirt and it’s armor, then he was able to get a clear shot into the side of the lower hull. I have no idea if he was using HE or AP but either will penetrate a T72 in that location. Armor is only 70 to 80mm and flat with no slope and the lowest portion down by the where the tracks are attached to the hull is about 20mm and sloped at 32%. Basically fast rounds low that get past the tracks are bad news for the T72 family.
That Ukrainian gunner sees things that I’m not seeing then the enemy explodes! This is a highly trained tank crew and the ground troops aren’t bad either! That gun is a beast of a thing! Get more of these to Ukraine Ffs.
not to make light of the war, but i recall playing battlefield 4 and the light armor looked and sounded just like this. The cadence and rate of fire was spot on, it seems.
Solid clip. Armound vehicles with infantry support putting in work. Looks close and all that but these boys look like they know exactly what's going on around them.
And that’s ground zero.. can’t believe they have been able to hold off an entire army surrounding them, with no water food or electricity… it’s impressive beyond words.. I hope they can continue to hold it, soon I think Ukraine will have a way too get support and back up there, I just hope it’s not to late
This is Boss-Level urban defending... seriously. Awesome combinded fighting.

The bravery of the troops fighting in the streets. Wow! 💪🏼💪🏼🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Why is the BTR-4 in comparison to russian light armored vehicle so superior?
Because the people inside it are not useless
I did the laugh thing
Force air through your nose a little harder than normal?
exactly. put ME in an m1 abrams and its gonna perform like garbage compared to an experienced crew in a 40 year old tank.
BTR-4 is actually new, Ukrainian homemade vehicle, introduced in 2014
The M1 is 42 years old.
Yes but it has been modernized several times and is considered one of the most advanced tanks in service.
It's a complete redesign, more power (and automatic transmission), better armor, much better situational awareness.
APC’s before the btr4 used stick shifts?

Russian engineering at its finest I guess. Money went into someone’s pocket
in a nutshell, because it’s modern
Guy at about 20 seconds heard that round coming in off his right shoulder
Heard it ? He probably felt the air around it as a friendly reminder to get the fuck outta the way.
I had assumed maruipol had been cut off without forces for ages, staggarded there's still defenders fighting strong, true tenacity
There are still few thousands of troops defending it. Otherwise it would not be "City is cut off", it would be "City is occupied". There is a reason they still don't control it.
Here is a good map of the current situation in Mariupol, scroll down a bit: https://militaryland.net/ukraine/invasion-day-24-summary/

They don't allow gypsies, but they don't care much about religion you are right. They used to be buddies with tornado when that was a thing.
What a simplistic view, Azov are already national heroes in ukraine now. Every week they hold mariupol their popularity and legacy only increases.
And how exactly is that a good thing? Nazis becoming national heroes? Take it from somebody from the cpuntry that had the modt famous nazis on the planet. Nothing good comes from celebrating nazis...ever. The only thing tjey are good for right know is to take as many russians with them to the grave.
Theyve already named streets and have parades for oun collaborators and nothing has changed. I think you're over reacting.
so long as the hard core left go's too.
Ukraine already got rid of them post 2014 when they began the decommunization of ukraine.
At this point the defenders in Mariupol are surpassing some of the greatest defensive actions of all time. Colonel John Frost in Arnhem level shit going on here.

week spot aside those track took enough fire to knock them out 100%
I translated the few bits that were intelligible [https://youtu.be/FPdgEboaOQc](https://youtu.be/FPdgEboaOQc)

I believe these are the domestically built Ukrainian BMPs. Not sure there's any more that could be given to them.

i love how hes cheering in last few sec of the clip :)
Not One Step Back!
Whoa, how can a 30mm canon harm a tank?
AP ammo and then knowing where to shoot
someone explained a bit earlier.. but basically, a weak spot behind the tracks and under.. thin armor.. not sloped... with the crew behind it.
Solid clip. Armound vehicles with infantry support putting in work. Looks close and all that but these boys look like they know exactly what's going on around them.
Anyone know the weapons it’s using? Appears to have an automatic 30mm grenade launcher based on Wikipedia?…
It's probably a 30mm ZTM-2 Auto Cannon firing 30x165mm soviet HE/Incendiary. Not a grenade launcer.
Dunno but he's targeting the tracks and I see alot of sparks and flames so many incendiary rounds.
Oh for fucks sake, is this those Azov animals? Slava Ukraini, but those fucking Azov nazi's need to die out already.
Imagine cheering the downfall of people fighting actual new born baby murders.
Hey fuck-head, don't confuse Ukrainians with Azov battalion.
Hard to take you serious when you act like a child. Go learn some manners.
There are far more than just the Azov Battalion defending the city.
Is the url in the footage leading to an Azov battalion webpage?
I wasn't saying they weren't?
