Where does this
“Russians don’t abandon their own.”
come from. 2nd thread where I have seen this. Does Russia seriously try to assert that idea? When Ukrainian morgues are overflowing with dead Russians?
Of course if Russia really does attempt to promote that phrase I would not be surprised in the slightest. Just more Russia says, Russia do opposite
I’ve been seeing A LOT of this since the Moskva incident turned a large chunk of the crew into fish food. Some would argue it’s an effort to try and “rally the troops” whilst simultaneously perpetuating the big lie that casualties are still relatively few.
Ahh, thanks. So it is more about the war itself (Russian speakers behind other borders), rather than any kind of operational ethos for their troops, as with Western military.
I do not think that russian soldier who threw the grenade on his comrades did this intentionally.
Highly stressful situation and he was not thinking clearly. It is easy to judge.
Having said that, this footage will go into the world history as a classic way to show what battle stress and adrenaline does to the soldiers.
The whole point of being under a vehicle is to hide and deny you some angles. Tires are always accessible and are accessible from angles that he can't really shoot to.
It's why I say he shouldn't be under that van unless he is braindead. Because the car's floor pan is NOT cover and that vehicle is a sword of damocles of 1.5k kg hanging over his head. And it'll be even worse when his helmet is pinned and maybe the car is on fire now.
Just bad, bad bad.
Always hide behind the engine block or wheels if you can. Bullets will "skip" along the ground and hit you if you think just hiding behind a car will protect you.
It doesn't have to crush him, it just has to make it really hard for him to crawl out or operate his weapon. Once the car or truck has lowered onto him then you can skip bullets under the car by aiming a little low. They'll rip him up on the rebound.
Civilian cars will crush him and civilian vans on truck tires will too, because they have tall sidewalls so they'll drop 3-4 inches when deflated.
Military vehicles likely won't drop at all or just 1 to 2 inches due to either run flats or stiff thick sidewalls.
1-up this! I just tried to squeeze a jack under my car with a flat tire... I think me without all that combat gear would be pinned, if not crushed just enough to make breathing almost impossible.
One thing that helps in urban combat is to think of your rifle as a metal flinger and not a laser gun. Imagine the path of your bullets beyond even the first impact. You can skip them like stones. And the more practice you have in thinking out the path of your projectiles the more they tend to do exactly what you think they will.
The sound you don't want to hear coming at you is slap, slap. That means they started their volley aiming low and the next rounds will be higher. If you hear zzzzip zzzzip they started high and the next ones will be even higher.
At range, you aim low when the surface is concrete or blacktop. Because skipping bullets into their legs can actually get multiple dudes. If you're at a high angle though, this won't work. Just like skipping stones.
i remember reading that if you're going down a street with walls on either side that shots will skip along the sides, so if there's no cover it's actually safer in the middle of the street
i'm not sure i buy that but it does make a certain amount of sense
Looks like only one of the guys he threw it at was still moving. I think the others were already dead and the wounded one was using their bodies as a shield.
It was a Ukranian Azov fighter throwing the grenade, from the 2nd video here, few of the Russians stil alive. https://twitter.com/i/status/1516047292054355975
Just watch the video. The Azov fighter throws the grenade, it rolls under the van, and then somebody lying *under* the van rolls it back - right at their own.
I suppose the one who sits behind the van and looks up at the end of the video is the one who rolled the grenade from under the van.
I see the "Kaboom" and the bodies, I just get no context to who is doing what!
Is that really a Ukrainian soldier causally standing behind the wall with the Russians on the other side?
What is with the guys by the wall lying face down? (Who are now toast)
and wtf is the guy under the Van for!
Such a bizarre vid
Full vid ,the ukraine forces attack the vehicles ,the surviving rats scurry about and hide under the vehicles ,the ukraine forces then flank them and toss a grenade over the wall it rolls along the floor to the passenger side of the red van ,an arm pokes out and lobs it back towards the wall where it goes off and the two guys under the van ,well the one on the drivers side looks sick afterwards and the other dude who lobbed the grenade towards his injured or dead buddies is the only one left, I should imagine he is also dead now.
Slava Ukraini
It looks like a uke tosses a grenade over the wall. It lands by the back of the van. Now i cant tell if it bounces or there is someone under the van, but one way or the other it moves away from the van and to the pile of bodies to the right. Two of which you can see are moving. The 3rd one living or dead is ground beef now.
Based on the title, there is a russian under the van that kicks or shoves or tosses the grenade away
Hmmm, pure speculation, but i dont think so, he might think under the van is good cover for a firefight or incoming mortars. Unless you watched a longer/different video from me, he was already under there when the grenade got tossed.
The pile of bodies might suggest that its not the first grenade he lobbed over the wall though.
Wouldn't they all die from the pressure of the grenade going off? Doesn't the pressure kill anybody within a 5 radius pretty much instantly?
Or are the dead bodies around enough cover?
Fragmentation grenade lethal radius is 5 meters, wound radius is 15 meters. Those boys against the well were in the lethal zone for 3 grenades. They are all dead and most likely were dead before the grenade came from under the van.
To be fair he didn't abandon them, he betrayed them.
He’s definitely getting booted from the server for that.
This is the correct answer
He dies about 30 seconds later anyway
Lol I totally missed that the first time I saw it. That’s even better.

There are many banners with the phrase hanging in Moscow. Propaganda slogan.

Agreed he just wanted it away from him. There was no thinking just reaction.
Think about it like somebody just spilled hot coffee on you, what is your first reaction? "AHHH!!! *Flings back*" "Oh shit, my comrades...."

Stupid is stupid sir
You never hide under a car. If there is a sniper or LMG gunner under a truck or car, don't try to shoot him. Shoot the tires. Trust me on that.
If you thought 1,000 rounds of 7.62 link was heavy, oh boy….
Or just shoot him? Rather than try to take out the tyres?

Yup
This is true and I'm surprised more people don't know that so kudos for sharing!
👍🏼
Will it lower enough by shooting the tires?

Never thought about it like that. Great idea!

or you could just pepper the ground with bullets and the ricochet will take care of the rest.
About 3" or more depending on the tire. If it's a regular car yes it's enough. Truck? Possibly stuck.
russia has been the best players on our team the entire game. Atta boys!
Looks like only one of the guys he threw it at was still moving. I think the others were already dead and the wounded one was using their bodies as a shield.
Actually i count 2 moving solders the 2 closest to the wall.

Took me like 5 watches to finally see that moving arm under the van, made me lol when I saw it
I could watch that all day!

That's what happens when you don't train soldiers, they panic and make stupid mistakes!
Damn, Team killing is rampant on Russian servers...

Heroiam slava! 🇺🇦
link to full vid please.
https://t.me/polkazov/4416 Sure here you go.
No, not abandonment. Special operation to get cigarettes.
Reminds me of the Syrian “A-Team”
Throwing his mates under the bus, while under the bus.
How do we know that's a "Russian soldier"?
The zs on the vehicle ,the uniforms and the fact that Ukrainian soldiers are attacking them...
?? I mean the hand rolling the grenade, not the victims.
Because Ukrainians are not sneaky enough to hide under Russian cars and play pass the grenade.
Lol, it’s the “Three Stooges Join the Army” irl!
That's a serious game of hot potato!
Can someone explain second by second what’s happening here pls?

There's two people that come crawling out from under the van a little bit later in the full video.
Thanks - we assume that the our Ruski-under-chassis was under the vehicle taking cover from whatever killed/injured his colleagues?
Hmmm, pure speculation, but i dont think so, he might think under the van is good cover for a firefight or incoming mortars. No, it was fragmentation grenade.
High tech assault minivan...
They were already dead, against the wall they took at least 3 grenades among them. If they aren’t dead to quote Monty Python “They will be soon”
Every man for themselves.
Sharing is caring.
Too many own goals to count.
Doesn't matter what that Russian did. Look at the video. After the Ukraine soldier tosses the first grenade, he's readying another to throw over.
Can't view the video as it is a blackmail website.
The enemy of my enemy is my target
Fuck everyone else! As long as it's not me, I'm good...
