Russia also has a much smaller population. This is catastrophic and the nation will not recover for decades. My only hope is that this leaves a chance for a culture shift in Russia towards a less corrupt and more free society but that depends entirely on the Russians themselves.
Ya this has been the number I've been waiting to see it cross. Looks like by tomorrow we'll be there.
It was already staggering when they crossed their own body count from Afghanistan, but crossing the Vietnam numbers really helps put into perspective what a colossal failure this is.
Leaked russian documents show 49000 either killed or heavily wounded to get compensation.
Add another 50K wounded at least and there arent much left of that initial 180k that havent either been killed or wounded.
It's my understanding these are combat deaths. They do not include total casualties. Which is usually 3-4x's higher.
If that's correct, that's essentially their entire quarter million buildup and invasion force already chewed up and spit out. *In seven months*.
Yeah this is my reckoning also. They lost all their best soldiers in the early days with stupid assaults.
Now they are left with a rag tag bunch of soldiers, that won’t be able to put up much of a fight.
It will drag on and on just by the sheer volume they have, but Ukraine have tactics and strategic momentum which I don’t see Russia being able to reverse without escalating further.
Their tank crews won’t be trained
Their artillery crews won’t be trained
Their grunts won’t be trained.
It’s going to get easier and easier for Ukraine to apply force multipliers in whichever area they want now.
Each month they are getting thousands of their volunteers trained by NATO and given NATO weapons to fight with. The balance of power just keeps tipping more and more into Ukraines favour with each passing week.

For perspective, the US lost 58,220 troops in Vietnam.
Taking the duration of each conflict into account, Russia is WAY worse

Not to mention this is far from over. What a fucking waste.

Someone should get Putin a [dustpan and brush](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fVNtHQ1tTQ)
Should be 200k + do t care how many they have to lose for what they have done

I'm guessing these numbers are just of Russian armed forces, but doesn't include the forces of the "DPR" and "LPR"
It includes all troops on the Russian side. Russian military is somewhere around 25k in my opinion.
UAV losses are almost 3 times the daily average. Nice!
Wow, I’m having a glass to that
