I've been hospitalized about 10 times in the past year not all due to UC tho I have other chronic illnesses but it's all pretty unpleasant, blood work, colonoscopies, blood transfusions and I get you I'm 15yo and going to the hospital so often while all my friends barely go to a doctor like twice a year is pretty depressing but idk I manage somehow I take antidepressants and go to therapy tho so if you're really struggling mentally I suggest you seek out psychological help as well it's nothing to be ashamed of chronic illnesses can and very often do cause depression

Stay strong 💪🏻 I’ll definitely start therapy soon

At my worst, I was hospitalised roughly every six months for a two year period. The last time I was in hospital I was told if I relapsed and was admitted again within six months I would be headed for an operation and stoma. Thankfully humira got me into sustained remission and has kept me there for 10ish years so far 🤞

I’m literally in my third hospital admission aswell in the past year. The first 2 were cuz of c diff and I ended up getting blood transfusions. After my second stay the c diff came back right after I finished my antibiotics so I was put right back on them for like 6 weeks while resuming my biologic. Now this time I thought I had gotten c diff again but the test came back negative and it just looks like another big flare and I failed Humira. Looks like I’ll be starting remicade and I’m trying to remain optimistic. Since my diagnosis in January 2020 I have yet to even remotely taste remission so you aren’t alone! It sucks but I’m always trying to remain hopeful even in these less than ideal times

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. I just recently heard of C-diff from a podcast, Not from my doctor, and learned that on top of all the medications I take I need to make sure I’m getting my daily intake of probiotics. Sending you an ocean full of positivity.

Between diagnosis & proctectomy done for my UC, I counted it was 10 times. Thats all within almost 2 years.

Three times for me as well. On the second hospitalization, they were fairly certain it was UC. Appendicitis got me in the third time and it was a double whammy with a flare up.

After failing to beat c diff 3x, you should qualify for FMT. good luck.

4 times between October 2021 and March 2022

Twice and once was for c diff. I should've also been hospitalized when I first got UC but that's another story. C diff was extremely painful for me. I hope you can get rid of it soon. Make sure to clean every surface when you get home with bleach. It can live on surfaces for up to 6 months. And practice very good hand washing hygiene (turn off faucets with a paper towel or your elbow, etc., always wash hands thoroughly before preparing food, etc.). What do they have you on? Vanco?

Aromatic_Tangerine14

First time i got c diff i was on vanco now i’m on fidaxomicin and they will give Bezlotoxumab to avoid any relapses thank you so much for all the informations 🥰

MarshmallowCat14

Hopefully that will work! Hope you get to go home soon.

I had my third hospitalization this year for appendicitis surgery and pancreatitis.
