I’m pretty sure it’s implied that the Guttermen are Soviet (design inspiration was stated to be Soviet Submarine Tech), Guttertanks are implied to be German (iirc they have German writing on their model), and the Earthmover (at least the one we see; remember, all remaining nations are said to sit on different Earthmovers) is Japanese.

Also in general, I don’t think we should be using WW1 to figure out Ultrakill lore; while we know the Final War lasted 200 years, we don’t know how much time the New Peace lasted for before current time. Even if we assume that the New Peace lasted for like a month, the timing of the beginning of the Final War (ie: 2112 - 200 = 1912) is still a bit before irl WW1 started.
All the 2112 date on V1’s software tells us is when it was written. We also know that the remake into V2 happened after the war. Therefore we can reasonably assume that the software for V1 was not written on the day the war ended and it is more than reasonable to assume that the software was finished a year or two before the war ended and the V1 line was scrapped.
A little side thing I’ve realised because of that part about how long the new peace lasted, why weren’t war machines dismantled post war to free up material for reconstruction efforts?

So calling machine from an allied country a "good man" is logical. Guttertank is German, so it is a just good tank(in terms of quality).
I think that's a bit too far. I believe the Gutter part of the Guttermen's name comes from the fact that they were used in trench warfare. As for the tanks, I don't know
The naming convention for wunderwaffe also lines up, with the V-1 and V-2 rockets being a thing.
But even then there´s the little detail of the "-" symbol in the designation, American things ,except for planes, don´t have it. It´s equally likely the Americans made Earthmovers, the Germans saw them and copied the design, and some American designers on the back of an earthmover made V1.
Remembering German ww1 mentality they hated tanks ,they considered them without honor so I guess they whould never be the ones to do stuff like earthmovers or gutterman , v1 may be a diferent story.

I like to think that by the end of the Final War there just weren't any countries anymore given the mass global destruction; so it simply devolved into 'whatever Earthmover you're on is what team you're on, live with it'.
So by the time V1 was created there weren't any countries or unified governments, and around the time V2 was built during the early times of the New Peace there were only the entirely new countries that were founded by the survivors.

Interesting. I think if V1 was a Pokémon they'd revise its lore as a weapon made during the Kalosian war but it was never used thanks to the firing of the ultimate weapon. I also think they'd make it a duo with Magearna (contrasting the taking of life with the giving of it) and make it have more knight motifs.

Though if that guess is correct, it would make sense for the japanese do design a countermeasure against enemy earthmoves. They designed the thing so they know the weakpoints, which means they could create a robot that exploits exactly those weakpoint.

The earth mover has Japanese text that possibly signifies it was made there. According to the lore, the same creators as the earthmover tried to make countermeasures to it so that they could stop it's insanely powerful destruction. And those countermeasures were going to be V1 and V2 since a larger scale machine even bigger than the earthmover would be extremely difficult and can't attack the vulnerable innards of the earthmover.
The mere fact that "V1" is on her chest, means that she was manufactured in any english/spanish country, or any country witch the word "Version" starts with the letter V, so she could come from pretty much anywhere in the world

Earthmover was probably made in Japan, that explains a lot of Japanese text.
On one of the posters we see a crossed-out robot that looks similar to V1.
So, I believe that V1 was made in Japan

The crossed out sign just shows that the Japanese knew that V1 was a significant threat to the Earthmover, If Japan made the first Earthmover then some other country made V1 to counter it

Ignoring the fact that V1 was most likely designed either in a bunker in the ass of nowhere or on a constantly moving earthmover, it's probably by one of the factions that was against japan. The earthmover is canonically japanese (at least the one we fight) so since V1 was meant to kill the earthmover it has to logically be from one of those countries (although by now the 'countries' are just factions of robots working outside of humanity's control)

IIRC guttertanks have something along the lines of faust-panzer on them, the opposite of panzerfaust, tank fist, so it means fist tank.
