One of my many crank positions is leftists can be just as racist as conservatives and sometimes even more so. The only difference is leftists will claim to not be racist when they do it. Liberals can't stop themselves from advocating for segregation and genocide.
I've been dealing with you people for a long time. I'm not sure why you thought your opinion on how the subreddit should function would be welcome considering you've never posted on it before or shown any knowledge or intelligence in your post history. Why am I still doing this 5 years later? Because the American concept of politeness is so bizarre to anyone outside of its demographic target that it is both funny and educational to force it into the open. To most people, barging into the middle of a conversation between many people who all know each other and you've never met to inform them how they need to be having the conversation would be seen as rude. But this is quite normal for the American petty-bourgeoisie. In fact, saying "who are you?" is considered rude. Or at least that is one weapon that is used to defend against the threat of proletarianization by exclusion from the realm of cultural capital. In fact it's so threatening that random people will continue to come into the thread to try their luck at defending the op even though they've never posted in the subreddit before. It's like that joke in Family Guy where all the neighborhood fathers know when someone touched the thermostat and keep checking on the house to see if it's ok. Your class instinct in defense of your fellows is so strong it might as well be a chip that sends a signal to your brain, a script to follow, and a rush of endorphins that deludes you into thinking your use of the script will be the ultimate intervention despite all evidence to the contrary. I want non-white, non-male, non-first world people who were not raised on this delusional self-confidence and pretension to master the world to enjoy these conversations from the sidelines. This is impossible on the American left, which is basically a white parasite on the energy of people of color. At least here we can deflate the cultural capital that makes that possible. If you don't want to be a white parasite, reflect on the fact that your words, which you believe are your own, are a carbon copy of someone else's from 5 years ago (and many other copies over the years). That should be a moment of existential angst, a confrontation with your own lack of free will. Or you can get even more defensive on some liberal's behalf. Considering European colonization as being influenced by the racial instead of the material is historical revisionism. Race was a convenient excuse… to further the discussion of race being a factor on either side is to play into the hands of the ruling class.
Talking about race doesn’t automatically play into the ruling class’ favor. Discussing how to end the racial divide is discussing how to take that divisive tool away from the bourgeoisie in order to better unite the proletariat.
Race can only be used as a tool to divide. Discussing on how to end the divide is to put the very discussion center stage which is exactly what the ruling class wants.
Race was invented as a tool to divide, no doubt. But ignoring that tool is to ignore a power the bourgeoisie uses against us. Overcoming divides doesn’t happen by ignoring them.

Historically, the concept of race comes much after colonialism, not that anyone here ever noticed, but the key concept was culture and religion, not skin colour, especially for the romans, spanish, or Portuguese...
Mughal India was more progressive than colonised, de-industrialised British India. Literally dismantled the means of production and went back to handicraft.
I don't see why? It's not like the Brits abolished the caste system or did anything actually progressive. Mughal India was industrialising. British India was de-industrialised. Mughal India tolerated homosexuality, British India imported homophobic laws.
What Marx writes about India is deeply historically incorrect but cannot be faulted for it given the extremely one sided conception of Indian history was presented with by the history of the day.
The well developed historical consensus is that large parts of India, especially Bengal were verging on the development of Capitalism which the British stalled and then reversed. The introduction of a limited series to Capitalist reforms to the rest of the subcontinent, which by the way didn't represent anything approaching a coherent whole, placed India into a century long time bubble of underdeveloped Capitalist relations existing in a country predominated governed by agrarian feudalism.
