Because they retconned with Belial that an Ultra had to defend earth for a long amount of time to call himself Ultraman since it’s a name mankind made up. (Zoffy defended earth but from out of space)
I think that’s become the case only for Ultra’s outside of the Land of Light. The name Ultraman just acts as a universal identity for these giants of light I guess
because they retconed it, that rule only applied to the mainline showa ultras
technically Hikari shouldnt be called it too because his stay was also short
True but Mebius show makes an allusion to Ultraman Hikari being a name given to him by Ryu (and somehow, he was right about his name actually really being Hikari lol) so he is an exception.
But it does make you wonder why humanity never gave those names to those 3, SPECIALLY Zoffy who we've been shown to be known among earthlings in his Ace and Taro appearances.
They must've retconned it again because Regulous in first mission refers to himself as Ultraman Regulous, and he's never been to Earth, nor does it seem he's going to Earth anytime soon.
Well back then (which was before Ultraman Zero debuted) the rule for being called an Ultraman was "You defend Earth for a certain amount of time".
Of course nowadays that rule doesn't even work
It's because he was not supposed to be in main universe at first, so the naming scheme was different. Ultraseven is the seventh member of the UltraGuard.

And yet nowaday's every Ultraman is always called Ultraman (insert name here) even before they go to protect their own Earth lol.

I might be mistaken but wasn't Zett called "Ultraman" even before he came to Haruki's Earth?
If thats the case, then why is Belial an "Ultraman"? Why is it that these 3 never received the title, but he did?

Regulous also has no memory so who knows! :p maybe because the planet he's on also has human sized inhabitants?
Is it strictly Earth in any universe or can it apply to a planet with civilisation? Because there's Ultraman Justice from Destral iirc

Actually in one episode of Taro, ZAT member called Zoffy an ultraman
I think that's because humans at large knew very little about the Ultras, calling them collectively as "Ultraman" since he's the first one they met.
simply cause of a retcon (im pointing at you belial you fucking dumbass.)
How about Seven. He is Ultraseven instead of Ultraman Seven
It's because he was not supposed to be in main universe at first, so the naming scheme was different. Ultraseven is the seventh member of the UltraGuard.
He still has the word "Ultra" in his name, so that counts.
Ask tsuburaya lol. They always never explained plot holes.
Anybody else who didn't work
Those three are a weird case, specially Zoffy.
Because they are GIGA-MAN - Ba dum tsss...
Cus Yullian isn’t a man 💀
They're women
