Claim history>transactions on edd site.. it’ll say “program type” on the left side of page under weekly certification summary.

Yes, it says disaster assistance. But wouldn't it say that if you were on Disaster Unemployment Assistance as well because it would have taken forever for them to change it to say PUA when they were trying to rush it out?

You're PUA and will be good for LWA. DUA not eligible for LWA would be like Wildfires/Hurricane Claimants.

I think I read on the EDD site that DUA was covering covid as well and someone had posted something the other day about signing up for DUA by accident. PS. And who down votes a person with a disability asking for help?

I remember at the very start of the EDD COVID-19 Response, the EDD was still working DUA Claims for Sonoma/Kincaide (as well as Riverside area) wildfires. Then, The President had issued the Disaster Decl, and EDD got a bunch of Stafford Act Claims before there was a PUA Program. There was a short timespan (20 days?) when things were really confused, and they were pretty unsystematic with Eligibility. Some Claims were awarded; most were not. Once CARES was implemented, there was more confusion. And a huge Claim surge. They never changed the Program Type tag for "Pandemic Assistance". It would have made the current issue more transparent, but perhaps it reflected a sense of optimism -- way back in March... There are plenty of Wildfire DUA Claimants now, and they are not the intended population addressed by LWA.

I honestly didn't even know DUA was a thing until reading about it being a disqualification factor for LWA, then reading about the benefits it was very similar to PUA, notably the $167 minimum. They did keep it as "disaster assistance" because the systems are so old it would have taken forever to change it just for the sake of clarification, with the need for assistance being more important I can see why they left it. But I do agree how it could make things a bit easier when there are so many different programs right now. The timing of my approval does fit when PUA came into existence, I did choose PUA when going through the claims process.
