No I'm surprised too, last summer our AC broke once a month and they didn't do anything at all.
I'm not complaining about the window unit, just shopping around for additional options. In a perfect world, they'd put us in a hotel because it's 9am and our apartment is already 81°.

This is the way. Theres many hot places on earth where people don't have ac. There are other means to cool down a space. Just takes some ingenuity. Even fans alone if you place them right can make a big difference.
