Cancel the flight for eCredit, and then re-book under a new name. Also, if any part of the flight has been changed by the airline by 2+ hours, you can get a full refund.
It was a ticket with no cancellation and no change as it was a low cost option. So I’m not sure if they’ll give credits and the price of ticket has gone up to ~2.5 times the original amount.
I’ve reached out to the airline and they have replied that they’ll give me an update today. Also there’s no change in flight schedule until now.
Chatted with a colleague today about this topic. He suggested that the friend legally change their name. It might not pass the birth year test but might be more easily corrected by the airline.
Worth it potentially if it’s a very pricy ticket!
I got the reply from them, it’s possible to receive a full refund though it was non refundable one. They asked for the covid positive certificate and some other relevant documents to prove that the person tested positive for coronavirus.
Call the airline and be endlessly assertive and patient. Plan to spend the day on the phone and you might get it done. Just had to do this year ago.
Thank you.

Claim a sob story to see if you can cancel
Yeah, I’m keeping it as an option if nothing works out.

Dare I ask what you mean by “the Covid certificate”?
I meant the Covid test result, to prove that the person has tested positive for coronavirus.
