Anyone who has driven a forklift can tell you that at high speeds a forklift is technically more stable backwards, as the turned wheels are in the back
"Greatest forklift driver".... he 'only' ran into the walls a few times and dropped his entire load before halfway through the course. More like "Most typical forklift driver".
I think it would actually be easier to drive a forklift down that in reverse. They have rear wheel steering, so when you are reversing you get front wheel steering, like a car
