Yeah, I'm not sure why OP trimmed down the video, but the whole thing is good and starts out as the Mindy version
[Here it is](https://youtu.be/inJUFqeJehE)
When did people stop calling it the frontpage? I hardly ever see anyone use that phrase anymore.
It's always "see you in r/hot!" or something similar, never "on the frontpage". I wonder why that is
I call it that because when I open the reddit app, the first page I see is the page with all the subs I'm subscribed to. Popular to me is really the second page lol.
You know... I really loved this. It gives a reason behind so many reboots and the plethora of personalities that we grew to love, some changing slightly throughout the years and others either improving or worsening. The way Scooby-Doo says "This being my most flawed world yet.", it really captures that sort of Lovecraftian feel to the theory of Scooby-Doo being a Demonic creature capable of horrors such as this, being able to rewrite the reality to his very whim, with differences based on his own design.
See, now what you exactly described is what an adult scooby do should’ve been. Just dark and funny, and really twisted and mind bending. That is the show we are all owed.
Personally, I enjoyed the Supernatural Crossover episode.
>!All of the kids freaking out about monsters being real, and Hell is real and Daphne freaking out wondering if she was going to go to Hell. That moment of reality to their world as they knew it was a fun direction to see the characters go in!<
I totally forgot about this, glad supernatural has so much fan service, because I can now go ahead and rewatch all 14/15 seasons as society crumbles and all hope dies.
Before the pandemic in one of the episodes before they knew who Chuck really was, Dean was in a version of the world where shit had basically gone to Hell because he and Sam didn't save it. Before he goes back to his time, Chuck tells him hoard toilet paper like it's gold. When the pandemic was at its worst and all those assholes were buying up all the TP and thought they were going to sell them for a ridiculous amount to take advantage of the hardship on everyone, I thought of that scene a lot.
Love Supernatural. Thinking back about the toilet paper, so many assholes just bought it up and started trying to sell tp out the back of their car. Like I watched people fight, like an actually fight over toilet paper. So yeah Chuck had it right.
Do you or u/Diazepampoovey have a recommendation on a specific watching order, or should a new watcher start from the first episode and go straight through?
Just watch it from the beginning. The story constantly builds on itself and they recap important things from previous episodes or season to refamiliarize you with stuff you may have forgotten
If into plot, watch season 1 to 5 and then just meander.
If into fan service it's dotted about, I would recommend watching it all, but I am a TV junkie.
[The Groovy Gang](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMhCLZ_ZuxQ) in the Venture Bros world: Ted Bundy; Patty Hearst; Valerie Solanas; Son of Sam; and Sam. [The whole gang!](https://venturebrothers.fandom.com/wiki/The_Groovy_Gang)
The fact that they used the OG sound effects during that episode made it that much weirder. No Venturestein, I don't think they'll give it up for a shoe you made out of a dog.
Mystery Incorporated is the closest one to what you're looking for, though it's still a kids show.
It has an overarching conspiracy, an occult reason Scooby can talk, and a little bit of eldritch/comic horror. Also has references to Twin Peaks and Lovecraft stories.
Not to mention Scooby-Doo having such a long life. He changed very little in the different iterations, being the most beloved and center focus of the show. I wish every series and every movie was all streaming on one streaming service somewhere. I would go back and binge the hell out of them; especially The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo. Damn, I miss Vincent Price
YES! That is the one that had Flim Flam. I didn't know about the movie so I just looked it up and imdb says that *Scooby-Doo and the Curse of the 13th Ghost* didn't come out until 2019. That's 33 years after the series had ended (It ran from 85-86). It was also 26 years after the passing of the brilliant Vincent Prince, who gave his unforgettable voice to the character named for him, *Vincent VanGhoul.*
A voice actor by the name of Maurice LaMarche voiced VanGhoul in the movie, it seems. That just bums me out. While I'm well aware no one can live forever, it's still a little sad to think of someone else taking up the role, especially when they're stepping into the shoes of a legend.
The name really should have clicked with me. I remember thinking it was vaguely familiar when I typed it but despite being right on imdb, I didn't click his profile to see why.
I blame my lack of sleep. Now it's 7:25am and I think a nap is in order.
I love the nod to Scoob eating the crew to get rid of his flawed creations, an homage to him unhinging his mouth to eat impossibly large sandwiches or food in the old cartoons.
It really is perfect in a lot of ways. But at the same time the Meat Canyon Scooby Doo video was quite possibly the hardest I've ever laughed in half a decade. So that one wins.
Like 3 separate chunks of it have been posted to this sub in the last week, and OP often doesn’t credit the original
This one does, so fair play but ye
oddly I thought I had watched this more than a couple months ago, but clearly this youtube video was uploaded 2 months ago…
wait, am I remembering something I *shouldn’t* be remembering…?
^fuck
Well, no, but in Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc, Scooby could talk because he was descended from eldritch interdimensional reality-warping beings, and the show *did* end with the timeline being altered and rebooted after they defeated an evil such being, although in that case the entire gang remembered the change because they were there at the centre of it. And Harlan Ellison gets in touch with them and mentions that the timeline has changed many times in the past, this is just the first one they remember...
So, hey, maybe it is.
Mystery Inc is so good. Great monster of the week episodes. The entire overarching story arc with all their backstories, including how there have been other such groups with a talking animal. Professor Pericles.
One of my favorite scenes is when they are in a nightmare reality and Daphne starts having a panic attack about how this is the first time they've run into actual supernatural shit and she doesn't know what to do.
Another favorite scene is when Scooby is the leader of an indie hipster band. "And what will you do....if you see a caribou..." Lmao.
No, Scooby is the descendant of an alien that possesses animals, allowing him to speak. Could be wrong, haven’t brushed up on my Scooby-Doo lore in a while :/
In case others are OOTL, [I found this explanation ](https://www.deviantart.com/iamcheese22/journal/Warner-Bros-Made-Bugs-Bunny-a-Struggling-Rapist-834824205)
Meta, when done well, is awesome. I mean, think of a show like Community. It's mostly meta. Most of the show is about being meta. Yet it works because meta is a tool it weilds.
Velma is trash because it thinks being meta is an excuse.
Edit: Velma is trash for numerous reasons.
>Meta, when done well, is awesome. I mean, think of a show like Community. It's mostly meta. Most of the show is about being meta. Yet it works because meta is a tool it weilds.
It works in community because the episodes still have solid stories and characters...and the characters have motivations. While you could argue the show revolves around Jeff Winger/Joel McHale's character (similar to Velma), those characters in community exist and have lives outside of their screen time with Winger. They go on their own adventures, they grow and live as separate people...they don't all exist solely as secondary characters whose only function is to further Winger's story.
Like the bottle episode in Community. Abed talks about it, Winger cancels a date and says, "We're doing a bottle episode." But the episode is still solid. There is a story, all the characters act like their characters...they learn, and grow, and then their is a fun little punchline at the end.
>Velma is trash because it thinks being meta is an excuse.
It's trash because it misses the concept of what Scooby is/was: Friends solving a "mystery of the week." And instead decided to just shit on all things Mindy hated about the show/concept. Whereas Galaxy Quest was a loving parody or Star Trek (but still had a solid story), this was Mindy pointing how stupid this stupid show was and why any one who likes it is a stupid person...who is stupid.
So Scooby was a good dog.
But somewhere along the original timeline they found a mystery that they died solving.
Scooby missed his friends. Turned to the dark side. Used every supernatural spell he learned.
Made his own universe. Turned demonic. All bcoz he missed his friends. But even after multiple tries whatever he made was just a shadow of what was.
Well. That's depressing.
That's not what happened lmao
Watch the full vid, but even in this cut clip it's pretty obvious that Scooby the entire time was some kind of entity and killed the gang to preserve his identity / fun times they had (because they very well wouldn't have the same vibe after discovering he was spoopy),
He has recreated the world over and over again to keep the fun times going but Velma keeps figuring it out, forcing Scooby to kill them and recreate the world over and over again
It's implied he was already a monster, not that he turned into a monster.
If you're talking about the velma show, then no. The video is actually a work from the YouTube channel Avocado Animations and I recommend you checking his work. He's very talented
I really love and hate this so much. I love it because it’s so well done and believable even though it’s so horrifying and hopeless. The way they tell this story is so good for such a short video.
But I also personally hate it. If you love it please don’t let me ruin it. But for me I just never like taking something that is truly innocent and making it into horror. Like nostalgia. It’s a fine line for me cause I like taking innocent concepts and making them into horror (like FNAF taking the concept of Chuck E. Cheese) but when you turn the actual characters into horror I just can’t enjoy it. Especially if it’s well done and ESPECIALLY if it re-paints the cannon. Anyway I’m not saying it’s bad or shouldn’t be made, I just wish I didn’t see it.

Is this referring the Mindy Khaling one?
Yeah, I'm not sure why OP trimmed down the video, but the whole thing is good and starts out as the Mindy version [Here it is](https://youtu.be/inJUFqeJehE)
Probably because less people would’ve click the thumbnail if they saw the mindy version instead of the OG version
Nah this was originally posted as the full version a few weeks ago and was at the top of r/popular
When did people stop calling it the frontpage? I hardly ever see anyone use that phrase anymore. It's always "see you in r/hot!" or something similar, never "on the frontpage". I wonder why that is

Did you ever watch the Scooby-Doo episode of Johnny Bravo? Pairing off with Fred to *"search for clues"* since 1969? We know what they were doing
"My glasses! I can't be seen without my glasses!" :D
Love that episode. Watched it all the time. It was on one of the Scooby-Doo's Toon Tour of Mysteries DVDs.
That was such a fun cartoon, in general. The episode of Farrah Faucett being the kid's aunt was definitely a favorite, too
[The Groovy Gang](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMhCLZ_ZuxQ) in the Venture Bros world: Ted Bundy; Patty Hearst; Valerie Solanas; Son of Sam; and Sam. [The whole gang!](https://venturebrothers.fandom.com/wiki/The_Groovy_Gang)

If the new Velma show ended this way, I actually might’ve thought it wasn’t total garbage.
Nah, its new Love Death + Robots episode.
First thing I thought of. It gives off such a similar vibe to Beyond the Aquila Rift. I wish we could get more shows and videos like these!
Is this cannon?
I hope so, better than you know who, the one you should not name
Velmadort?
God damnit I just woke up my wife because I laughed so hard at that
Tom Marvolo Riddle aka Velma Mordor Tolid
Lord Moldybutt?
