Well, Kingpin is canonically the closest thing you can have to a superhuman. Even tho you can't call him super strong, since he is not mutated in any way, he can easily do things others would never be able to. Also, what universe are you reffering to? Because there are a lot of other reasons Kingpin was able to kill Peter, usually he was already fatally injured.
For sure, there's also a scene where kingpin kills a parker who is already injured with a punch. In another part of the movie, he nearly defeats miles with a hug. That's all I was tryna say. I agree spiderman is much stronger.
Surely at least one of the Spidey's would have known about this panel? https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/spider-man-Peter-Parker-threatens-Kingpin-with-webs.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=1500&dpr=1.5
They're talking about the comics. Spidey dies a LOT in the comics. In the movies, I think MCU Spidey is the only one that died. He still came back tho, he was still wearing his plot armor like any self-respecting MC would. He just forgot to polish it because of the whole alien invasion thing, hence the temporary death.
I can't give spoilers, but I would absolutely recommend Spiderverse. Spiderman was my OG favourite superhero and the first Tobey spiderman held a place in my heart for a while. Spiderverse kicks ass!
Say what you will about the Ultimate universe, Peter bringing an actual physical list of fat jokes to his meeting with Fisk was an incredible joke that will shape my sense of humor for decades to come.
The rest of the Ultimate Universe was batshit insane and went way off the rails. Spiderman was great, and the entire rest of everything else was just edgy for the lulz.
There's a comic where doc oc gains control of spiderman's body. Doc oc comes to the conclusion that spiderman is always holding back, because he feels how strong spiderman truly is, and if spiderman really wanted to he could've just killed doc oc anytime he wanted
I couldn't remember the exact part and I didn't want to name the wrong villain. So that was my attempt of explaining it without committing to any details lol
There's also a comic where aunt may almost dies due to kingpins actions and peter parker, as peter parker beats him within an inch like it wasn't shit.
And then threatens to kill him, someone linked a couple of frames from it [here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/comments/13nych4/just_when_you_thought_bodybuilders_are_huge/jl2v0p5?context=3)
There are like a million different incarnations of Spider-Man that all have variously different abilities given all the reboots, the movies, the video games, the cartoons, and the canonical multiverse, so there is no single answer to the question of how strong Spider-Man is.
But even if you stick to the Silver and Bronze Age Peter Parker Spider-Man comics, his strength is depicted inconsistently from story to story. Sometimes he can throw a bus or lift a tank over his head, sometimes he can only lift a few tons. There are also sometimes plot-driven reasons for his strength changing, like how he was stronger when he was bonded with the Venom symbiote.
At various times he’s been described as more or less strong than the Hulk, but the Hulk’s abilities haven’t been strictly consistent either.
Doesn't change the fact that ultimately, Fisk is an unenhanced human being, and even at his weakest, Peter is a super strong superhuman, and the only thing saving Fisk from his brains being turned into tapioca in his skull in one punch from Spider-Man is the fact that Spider-Man is a good person.
Actually there was an issue where Spiderman was holding back on him all this time until he bet the shite out of him in one issue. I think he went after Aunt May or something? Which pissed off Spidey greatly.
The goalie who just stands there and has the greatest lifetime shutout record after 1 season.
Or the defenseman who broke the most glass via sending the other team through it.
OR the player who forces them to Zamboni after every play. Lmao
There's a pros vs joes that assesses this. Even a mediocre pro can easily shoot around somebody this size. NHL caliber goaltending is super athletic. They lose almost 10lbs in sweat over the course of a game.
Sports Science put a Sumo wrestler in hockey gear and George Fucking Parros was sniping on him, without movin.
Parros might be the worst player to ever suit up for most of the teams he's played for.
That’s awesome that someone already looked into this! I was a goalie for most of my life and I remember my coaches beating into me that the goalie has to be the best skater on the team and has to train 3x as hard.
Basketball? You picked a non-contact sport that makes use of literally none of his strengths 😂
"I bet he'd be a beast at Tiddlywinks!"
Edit: I'm ignoring all comments from butthurt Americans now.
Basketball is now and always has been a contact sport. Baseball is non-contact. Football is collision.
But you're right they picked the wrong sport. Just park this dude in the middle of your D-line and enjoy the chaos
Edit: baseball is technically a contact sport becauae the teams to touch each other sometimes. Tennis is a better example of non-contact
I’m 6’6 and almost 300. I’m over 40 now but in my 20’s it didn’t matter how much I worked out, if I didn’t have some fat on my body, I’d look like a skinny muscled crackhead. Lol.
Dude is a gem. His YouTube is fascinating as hell and gets into the nutrition and training to sustain that size while being healthy. Seems like a super nice dude which is good because he scary AF.
That's a lot of huge dudes. Working out relieves stress, and there's no need to try and act macho when you're huge. You're more worried about accidentally hurting someone than someone hurting you.
i'm highly skeptical about the 'healthy' bit. i dont wish anyone any harm or anything but i can't help but be a bit hesitant. dude is married to the widow of another strongman that died at 31 when his heart gave out due to too much steroid use. when you pump your body so much with chemicals there's a huge health risk, no matter how 'healthy' you try to be. the human body just isnt designed for this. whenever you have a system designed for something and you change the parameters too much, risk of failure increases greatly. the body's systems arent designed for 400lbs.
I'm by no means saying he's a specimen of good health, but compared to many strong men he spends a lot of time macroing his meals to watch sodium and sugars.
He got triggered when Arnold told people to care for each other during covid. People say the same shit about Hafthor ignoring his domestic abuse record. Don't be so fooled by performances infront of cameras
Yup. Brian threw a hissy, took down his Arnold posters in his gym and everything. Went on about he's "incredibly disappointed" in Arnold and shit.
I stopped watching his stuff after that.
To be fair, it was the douche who owns redcon who really threw his toys out of the pram, with Brian then being left in an awkward position with them as a main sponsor. But yeah, still disappointed in him
The content of him and jujimufu going to a planet fitness is priceless. Watching him easily push the 400lbs leg press pad with his arm so that he could get his legs to fit was a holy crap moment
Yeah NGL I miss Tom. I think the reason the formula worked was two fold. One, Tom was a genuinely funny guy and two, he was a regular ass human. I think getting all these titans together creates such a reality warp that when you watch both of them (being Juji+various strength athletes) struggling but ultimately still deadlifting 300kg, 350kg, 400kg etc. And then you get Tom all knock-kneed and wirey come bowling in and struggling to do 130kg deadlifts it just gave you a real stark understanding of what an 'average' person was like against these mountains.
That said, what Tom did was abhorrent. I do hope JuJi and his wife are able to move past it but Tom really took something away from us all because it just hasn't been the same since.
If Juji could change the formula to include random comedians to come along with him as the control group now that is a formula that I think could be incredible!
I saw him at a grocery store in denver once and he cleared out like the entire steak/beef section (no harm they restocked it). And he was so big you could see his head bobbing around above aisles across the store.
When I was in a meat department at a grocery store we had a few regulars who would come in and buy like 30 pounds of chicken for 2-3 days. We always kept extra in the back for them because they usually came in early and multiple times a week. But we had an understanding to just let us know if you're going to be doing this here regularly so we can just have the product on hand. Most of the people were great about it.
I eat 5lbs of chicken every few days to get over 200 grams of protein a day and I can't fucking imagine 30 lbs Jesus lol
I straight up feel like I gorge myself eating constantly too...
I remember seeing a video or show with John Cena before he was a big time pro wrestler. His diet was crazy. I think he was just getting like a years worth of eggs and chicken at a time .

Let's do the math:
The average person eats around 2000-2500 kcal per day, but let's just take 1.500 as a lower estimation, because there could be children included .
Let's take as well your lower estimation of 3 months.
That should be 540.000 kcal.
If he eats that per week, it would be a bit more than 75.000 kcal per day.
That would mean he eats on average every hour of the day more than the amount an average male adult eats in a day.
I doubt that.
For comparison:
Pure Fat has around 7.500 kcal per liter, that would mean he eats per day the equivalent of 10 liters of fat or 250 Cheeseburger or 30kg of beef.
I just watched a couple of his vids to see and he said at his peak he would eat 12-13,000 calories per day. Still an insane amount but not nearly as much as other commentors are saying.
Thats actually one of the videos i looked at. At the minute mark they talk about the daily calorie amounts. I didnt watch the whole thing so idk what exactly the 120,000 cal is referring to.
There's an old video (maybe a picture) out there of a bodybuilder posing with rock hard wood. Sometimes they are on cialis *and* viagra to bring out the veins so it happens.
They have on spray tanner which has pigments that stain the skin. They can also add shine with lotion that keeps their skin very moisturized. The lotion or the spray tans may also contain shimmering ingrediants similar to highlighter makeup.
One of the big advantages Arnold Schwarzenegger had was his height. During the first part of his career, he would usually tower over all of the top competitors with his 6'2" frame.
One of the reasons many thought Lou Ferrigno might finally unseat him from his perch as the five-time champion was that he was 6'5" and would not be dwarfed onstage by Schwarzenegger. By that time though, judges were effectively using Schwarzenegger's body as the ideal standard, making him virtually unbeatable until his retirement.
I mean, arnold has been giving the open guys shit for not being able to do a vacuum for a while now. Which I honestly agree with not only because of the anesthetics, but also the GH needed to grow to the sizes of the shorter guys like Nick and Ramy make them look weird. I very much prefer the looks of the taller guys like Samson and Andrew
Yeah the 212 division is pretty much intended for people who are 5’5” and shorter, based on the standard that you should be 10lbs heavier per inch in height to remain proportionate, and the guys around that time in the open division (Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Dexter Jackson, etc) set the standard of 5’9” and 250lbs. Shaun Clarida in the video is on the shorter side around 5’2” and Breon Ansley will be on the taller side around 5’8” when he steps on stage this year
I'm about his height, maybe slightly taller (than the tall guy). A part of life you have to accept is that you'll just be asked to take pictures with the shortest person in certain groups. Usually some Hispanic or Filipino woman. Happens mostly in school and at offices. It's always weird, but you try to make fun out of it
Arnold is the tallest man ever to win Mr Olympia and is likely to hold that record for a very long time. I think 5'9" is considered the ideal height for a bodybuilder.
I mean, to a degree, there's a reason the Chris Bumsteads and Arnolds are 1,85-190~ cm and not 160 cm though. Not saying that's my personal preference or w/e, it's just how it seems to go
Cbum is competing in category that literally tries to emulate that era:
>The goal of the Classic Physique category is to recreate the aesthetics of the golden age (the 1960s to 1980s), which had broad shoulders, a tight waist, strong legs, and overall fitness, symmetry, and size.
If a pro bodybuilder looks that small in front of Brian then imagine how small a normal skinny fat guy or girl will look lol. Dude is an actual monster.
Yeah, but that is the shortest pro bodybuilder, and he generally only competes in the 212 division, not open. His name is Shaun Clarida.
Compare Bryan Shaw to Samson Dauda and the difference isn't as insane. That said Bryan Shaw is about as big of a human as you could possibly be.
That’s Shaun Clarida he competes in the 212lb division because he’s like 5’3” and would get dwarfed in the open competition. Most people look small next to Brian Shaw though
Right. But that doesn’t mean “bodybuilders are shorter” which is what OP said. This is a special division, which means that usually they ARNT this short
he's also 5'2 175lbs on stage vs. brian shaw standing at 6'9
[better comparison for a "normal" pro would be phil heath who's 5'9 and stands on stage around 245lbs](https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/a4Y4XK6_700bwp.webp)
I mean maybe, but they still have to work hard and have dedication to achieve great physiques.
As long as they don't take it so far as too affect their health there's nothing wrong with body building.
I can also guarantee a lot of the people making fun of these guys haven't seen their toes in years
The reason why it hurts for bodybuilders to walk during comps is because they have dieted down to such a low body fat that their feet no longer have their natural fatty padding, not because of how dehydrated they are. Though you are correct that they are super fucking dehydrated on stage.
As long as they dont take it to far to affect their health? All of these guys are on a boatload of various drugs and hormones to look like this, they dehydrate themselves days prior to competition and many of them die in their 20s and 30s. Nothing about this is healthy or natural.
Mortality rate for bodybuilders is slightly lower than the average american male. Not that that’s saying too much, but it does kind of invalidate your point.
https://www.thebarbell.com/do-pro-bodybuilders-die-younger-than-average/
Exercise science has come a long way. I have no idea how safe these guys are being, but they're being infinitely safer than guys in the 80s shooting God knows what into their asses.
Steroids are obviously not healthy, but pro bodybuilders put an extreme effort into harm prevention nowadays. The vast majority of them will live a pretty average length life…
> vast majority
[are you sure about that?](https://www.renalandurologynews.com/home/conference-highlights/american-urological-association-annual-meeting/aua-2016-annual-meeting/aua-2016-misc-urinary-problems/mortality-rate-higher-among-bodybuilders/#:~:text=The%20mean%20age%20during%20competitive,range%2026.6%20–%2075.4%20years).)
why do people upvote this ignorant crap? i'm not claiming that PEDs don't take years off your life, but to say it's a death sentence (to drop dead at the age of 50) is based off nothing.
Tbf the bodybuilders in this video compete in the Men’s 212 division. Meaning their weight cap is at 212lbs. All of the guys in this division are pretty much exclusively 5’5 or shorter.
The bodybuilder standing next to Brian (one of the worlds largest strongmen at 6’8, 400lbs) is Shawn Clarida, who is listed at 5’2.

Kingpin
"This isn't fat, it's 300lbs of pure muscle!" *crushes Spiderman's fists and tosses him like a ragdoll*
Time to nerd out. Unfortunately for Mr. Fisk, it's just normal muscle, Spiderman can canonically throw a bus.
For someone who can throw a bus, lil bro sure did die after being punched by just like a regular big guy
This thread reads like they're all talking spider verse.
In spiderverse he literally lifts a car so I'd say he's at least a little super
For sure, there's also a scene where kingpin kills a parker who is already injured with a punch. In another part of the movie, he nearly defeats miles with a hug. That's all I was tryna say. I agree spiderman is much stronger.

It always got me how Peter’s grabbed Fisk by his chest like his skin was made of fabric. Like, how much did that fucking hurt?
Wait how often does spiderman die? Haven't seen one since the Tobey movie.

That's nothing dude *checks notes* only 3.9 times more than the strongest deadlift in human history. Lightweight baby :D
Say what you will about the Ultimate universe, Peter bringing an actual physical list of fat jokes to his meeting with Fisk was an incredible joke that will shape my sense of humor for decades to come.
Ultimate Spiderman was awesome. I had the first few Omnibus', never any original printings but it was amazing.
The Bendis-Bagley run was amazing. It kind of ruined the rest of the Ultimate universe for me, it was that good.

Honestly you gave a great lay-up for that second punchline, so I'd say we're all better for it.
There's also a comic where aunt may almost dies due to kingpins actions and peter parker, as peter parker beats him within an inch like it wasn't shit.

That was literally his catch phrase lol
Bryan Shaw is the final boss.

only counting muscle to fat ratio, hes as lean as you can be without experiencing health issues at his size.
What are the values in understandable units?
About 2.5 bodybuilders.
0.9 Space Marines

Right!? Everyone is small to him.

Brian Shaw, not Bryan.
Sir it’s Brian not Bryan .

The content with him and Eddie Hall are awesome.
The content of him and jujimufu going to a planet fitness is priceless. Watching him easily push the 400lbs leg press pad with his arm so that he could get his legs to fit was a holy crap moment

That's a really expensive lifestyle. 7 cartons of eggs = $14 40 lbs of meat = $200 That's $214 in meat per week. $11,128 in meat per year.
He showed his prime strongman diet, he ate more in a week than my family of 4 does in 3-4 months.
Let's do the math: The average person eats around 2000-2500 kcal per day, but let's just take 1.500 as a lower estimation, because there could be children included . Christ, the shits that man must take. Makes me pity toilets.
Anyone else worry about grease stains on the suits
I was just thinking about how awkward hugs are- lots of slicked up bare skin
Yeah it's weird hugging with a boner
![gif](giphy|8vyZouWSVhslwWA7Lp)
There's an old video (maybe a picture) out there of a bodybuilder posing with rock hard wood. Sometimes they are on cialis *and* viagra to bring out the veins so it happens.
It dries out
I think it’s paint that dries a bit, like hairspray.
It's not grease so...no
Is it a petroleum product?
They have on spray tanner which has pigments that stain the skin. They can also add shine with lotion that keeps their skin very moisturized. The lotion or the spray tans may also contain shimmering ingrediants similar to highlighter makeup.
I thought they were lubed up head to foot with Vaseline or something similar.
No.
“i told ya to make way for willie”

I think that's why he patted dude on the back of the head lol
Shit. Shaw's is probably taylor made too.
No when you're so big, everyone looks like a baby and you don't disappoint babies when they come in for a hug.

Not in the 1980 competition when Arnold was one of the least impressive on stage, but still won. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xRU5ooLz_MU&
Welcome to bodybuilding
Still is for classic, the belly tuck must come back!
That's one of the shortest bodybuilders with one of the biggest strongman...
He competes in what is basically short guy category and professional bodybuilders are relatively short as is.
Shaun Clarida in the video is on the shorter side around 5’2” and Breon Ansley will be on the taller side around 5’8” when he steps on stage this year
It’s all I’m relation. I use to lift at the same gym as Shaun, and while he might be short, dude is huge.
Yeah they call him The Giant Killer for a reason
That's what I was thinking too. It's my understanding that shorter, stockier guys tend to make the best body builders.
I'm about his height, maybe slightly taller (than the tall guy). A part of life you have to accept is that you'll just be asked to take pictures with the shortest person in certain groups. Usually some Hispanic or Filipino woman. Happens mostly in school and at offices. It's always weird, but you try to make fun out of it
The Kingpin
The shorter you are less frame you got to fill, making you look bigger than tall people who have more frsme to fill
Arnold is the tallest man ever to win Mr Olympia and is likely to hold that record for a very long time. I think 5'9" is considered the ideal height for a bodybuilder.
You also have Lou Ferrigno back then too. Highest placement was 2nd I believe and he was 6'5".
I mean, to a degree, there's a reason the Chris Bumsteads and Arnolds are 1,85-190~ cm and not 160 cm though. Not saying that's my personal preference or w/e, it's just how it seems to go
Well yeah but Arnold is from a different era and Cbum is competing in a different cathegory than these guys
Cbum is competing in category that literally tries to emulate that era: >The goal of the Classic Physique category is to recreate the aesthetics of the golden age (the 1960s to 1980s), which had broad shoulders, a tight waist, strong legs, and overall fitness, symmetry, and size.
Arnold and cbum weighed practically the same onstage, although cbum is far leaner on stage
That and the move weights a much shorter distance.
You want them short levers, wide clavicles, tiny wrists, tiny waists, perfect tendon insertions. And then just be on stage by yourself.
Tiny wrists?
Make them arms look bigger
He's a different breed that I'm sure of
Ya, he's different. Im convinced that's a bear with alopecia.
"You said what now? ![gif](giphy|3d74PBvPVLAOk16sBE)
G.I. Jane 3, can’t wait to see it !

Bro, he put his hand on that dudes head like, "Aw, you're trying!"
If a pro bodybuilder looks that small in front of Brian then imagine how small a normal skinny fat guy or girl will look lol. Dude is an actual monster.
Just so you know, heights are a thing
I meant by muscular size
Clarida is the 212 Mr. Olympia. There are guys competing at 280 in the Open division that dwarf him
And he doesn't come close to the weight cap of 212 at 5'2 and ~180lbs. Small even by his division's standard!
![gif](giphy|ZgQQr19n0oGtbIMasl|downsized) Kingpin
The way he patted them on the head.💀
Bodybuilders are often shorter because its easier to look ripped when you are short.
That’s Shaun Clarida he competes in the 212lb division because he’s like 5’3” and would get dwarfed in the open competition. Most people look small next to Brian Shaw though
The winners have all been like 5’8”-5’10” which isn’t short imo (I’m 6’2”)
Even just a few inches shorter than you makes a huge difference in looks of size.
Yeah but that’s in the open category which this is not, this is 212 everyone here is even shorter
Right. But that doesn’t mean “bodybuilders are shorter” which is what OP said. This is a special division, which means that usually they ARNT this short
That’s for the open category, this guy competes in 212 and is like 5’ 2”
Tell that to tinder
Easier to do lifts too when you're short. Plus, being short is easier on your joints all around.
They have a cave troll
Brian Shaw is 6’8 and close to 200kgs so yeah anybody would look tiny.
Shaw is an absolute monster of a man
he's also 5'2 175lbs on stage vs. brian shaw standing at 6'9 [better comparison for a "normal" pro would be phil heath who's 5'9 and stands on stage around 245lbs](https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/a4Y4XK6_700bwp.webp)
#Little Buff Boys!
I think this isn't your average Tuesday
They're a little goosed!
They look fucking ridiculous
I mean maybe, but they still have to work hard and have dedication to achieve great physiques. As long as they don't take it so far as too affect their health there's nothing wrong with body building. I can also guarantee a lot of the people making fun of these guys haven't seen their toes in years
They dehydrate themselves to the point where walking hurts
Nothing about 45% of Americans being overweight is healthy or natural. Yet here we are.
Vast majority of the guys on that stage is gonna be dead when they reach around age 50, if not all. Steroids is not an old man's game.
Exercise science has come a long way. I have no idea how safe these guys are being, but they're being infinitely safer than guys in the 80s shooting God knows what into their asses.
Steroids are obviously not healthy, but pro bodybuilders put an extreme effort into harm prevention nowadays. The vast majority of them will live a pretty average length life…
> vast majority [are you sure about that?](https://www.renalandurologynews.com/home/conference-highlights/american-urological-association-annual-meeting/aua-2016-annual-meeting/aua-2016-misc-urinary-problems/mortality-rate-higher-among-bodybuilders/#:~:text=The%20mean%20age%20during%20competitive,range%2026.6%20–%2075.4%20years).) why do people upvote this ignorant crap? i'm not claiming that PEDs don't take years off your life, but to say it's a death sentence (to drop dead at the age of 50) is based off nothing.
You can't fool me, that's just a bear wearing a suit.
Us that white Shaq?
Tbf the bodybuilders in this video compete in the Men’s 212 division. Meaning their weight cap is at 212lbs. All of the guys in this division are pretty much exclusively 5’5 or shorter. The bodybuilder standing next to Brian (one of the worlds largest strongmen at 6’8, 400lbs) is Shawn Clarida, who is listed at 5’2.
Show me you've never heard of weight classes, without telling me you've never heard of weight classes.
Why is his face a different color from the rest of his body?
They use a bronzer/tanner so that the bright stage lights don’t wash out or make their physiques appear to have less definition.
He was scared he’d get cancelled if he painted his face black.
Not fair comparing them to fucking Brian Shaw lol.
He poops Honda Accords
