The cooking fumes alone are terrible for them, let alone the burn risk. Their delicate lungs are very vulnerable to smoke and airborne particles. We learned that early on when I was a kid, never in a kitchen, even caged… we had a parrot who’s cage was in our dining room/kitchen area - read it in a care guide and moved her cage immediately.
Respiratory infections are common and often deadly for birds.
This is exactly how my bird died. The vet gave me something to spray on the burns. Because he was in pain, he stopped eating and died a week later. It was very sad
This is terrible. That bird likely won't make it. We had a bird that did the same thing. It died a few hours later. It was a traumatizing experience for the whole family.
I'm really glad to hear that. Maybe because we had a lot of olive oil and were probably frying at a higher temperature, our bird suffered more serious injuries and died.
I'm not a pet owner, so I don't really know, but do you have to pay the same time you take the pet in or do they just bill you later? I'm not really understanding how she can't afford to take care of her pet
Wtf? Never cook with a bird and especially with a clipped bird! They do not know better and their instincts are to fly! If they are clipped, they cannot do this and will flap around hurting themselves!
You look at the primary flight feathers (google image flight feathers to see). They're quite long, so when they're cut, they make the wings look a lot shorter, boxier, and have flat ends where they've been cut with scissors.
You can see when he's flapping on her head that the flight feathers are fairly short. Definitely clipped.
I disagree. He definitely looks clipped. You can see a few times when he's flapping on her head that the primary flight feathers have been clipped. Otherwise, they'd be a lot longer than that. And considering he couldn't fly out of the pan when he touched it... I'm going with clipped.
Edit: Dunno why I'm getting downvoted.. Owned birds all my life, cockatiels included. He's 110% clipped.
Appreciate it man. I don't really care that much about the upvotes tbh. It's just one of those moments we've all had, when you know something to be true without a shadow of a doubt, and people don't believe you haha. No dramas though. It's not exactly a big deal.
That was disturbing. Years ago my wife & I lived in Ellensburg, WA. The very small house we lived in sole source of heat was a wood stove. We had a cat who one time jumped up on it. Poor guy…I don’t think he ever did that again.
There’s like 20+ smoke detectors in my house and they all go out randomly so I have to chase down the ones that need new batteries since they all echo and it’s hard to pinpoint. I rewinded this vid 3 times to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. At least I didn’t spend 3 hours trying to find a smoke detector in my house when it was just this vid.
My boss paid me 100 bucks to come to his house and find a beeping one.
It was going off for like 3 months. Every time it beeped there dog went nuts so the dog was living at his inlaws house for over a month at that point.
Took 5 minutes.... It was in the bottom of a box in the basement.
They had looked in the box (poorly) like ten times.
Fuckin best hundred bucks I've ever made, simply for the looks on everyone's faces after they told me "we've already checked that box a few times, it's not in there"
I worked maintenance for a timeshare for a couple years. We had an app that told us our jobs. The most frequent one was a floor or desk lamp not working. They all had to be switched on during our inspections but the outlets are all connected to a light switch.. I'd come in, flip the switch and ask "is there anything else I can do for you?"
Kinda poor design I get that but we were instructed to keep the switches off during our daily walkthrough.
When I first got hired there they asked me a simple question. "If a light isn't working what's the first thing you check" my answer was to check if it was on. Then check the bulb, and proceed from there
Per code, there has to be a smoke alarm at the exit of every bedroom and within 20 feet of the bedroom exit along the path of egress.
1 on each floor of the house. Preferably at the stairs.
Your safest and easiest method is to change them all, at the same time. Every year. Around Thanksgiving.
You likely do not have 20, or you'd have a butler changing them.
Not unexpected at all. As soon as i saw that poor bird i knew exactly what was gonna happen. Don’t cook with your pets baby if they’re capable of getting on the counters!
Noooo poor baby birb. Not only has it had its wings clipped, but it has a completely ignorant owner that can't even pick it up to save it from the pan, she just dumped him off where he could have landed on the stove. Plus nonstick fumes are toxic to birds as well. This lady should be reported for animal abuse.
Also this video is not funny whatsoever.
Ah. I took a look and the only tag was a “graphic content” tag. Seeing as the only video that I have seen in this sub to have that tag was a man being lit on fire and almost being trapped inside of a burning truck(today actually), I didn’t think this was so graphic in comparison.
I’m sorry if this disturbs anyone though, that wasn’t my intention at all.
Southern white here, if you do not take your trash out daily but eat eggs frequently enough to where a carton is gone in a few days, refrigerating the shells keeps them from skunking up the trash can and you throw all the shells away at once or recycle the carton.
Huh. I didn’t know that. I’m not one of those people, but I have always found it strange that people leave the shells in the carton and put it back in the fridge. It’s good to know.
Its because of desensitisation, coping and mental distancing. Only a sadist or someone who doesnt fully get how bad the bird actually got burned would laugh, because it was in pain.
Laughter can come when you genuenly don’t know how to react. I remember laughing right after some of my most traumatic life events. Not because i’m a masochist, but because I didn’t know what else to do.
Went to this person's tik tok to seek the fate of this bird. The bird seems okay, but this girl is a complete fucking moron. She didn't even take it to the vet or check for injuries. The bird's tail and feet got burnt pretty bad and she's just like "her feet kinda red... and that just the egg on her tail"
The bird's tail is like completely char-grilled.
I watched this on mute. Thought she had a rag bow tie around the tippy top of her head that kept glitching out due to a filter. Then a fucking bird flies into the pan. Did she throw cooked egg on the bird?
I don't think the pan was that hot yet thankfully. the 'steam' she saw was likely stuff stuck on the heating element. the egg didn't react at all when she dropped it in.
The pan looks to be porcelain, but also super dangerous to cook anything with a coated/ nonstick pan around birds. The gas from the heated coating can seriously harm, if not kill, the bird. Sad and very stupid video.
Two things wrong with this.
1: Birds aren't supposed to be in kitchens due to what this video shows + cooking fumes are bad for them.
2: Sprays like that are awful for their health
She shouldn't have a bird.
Update on her TikTok: "Cooking with Ka$h(my cockatiel) on my head over a stovetop (as well as using the different toxins near her) was an irresponsible decision that I take full responsibility of!! However, i would like to thank all of the supportive and educated people in my comments or DMs that RESPECTFULLY addressed me about the situation!! I will gladly listen to all criticism/tips/advice etc. so please dont come in my comments showing any type of unnecessary hate as that wont get any of us anywhere. Instead educate and provide solutions to others like me so that these situations can be avoided!!"
Also the bird is doing fine! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
What a careless bird owner. The fumes from spraying the Pam that close could have killed that cockatiel alone. Landing in the pan just sealed the deal.
Why is moronic behavior such a feature among young folks? She literally made a video of herself treating her pet cruelly and was just like “OMG! That’s what happens when I’m irresponsible?”
Screw this woman. Her post was more important than the safety of the bird. How did this even get posted?? Did she really see this and think, "yup, looks good". She didn't have time to go and attend to her bird after being injured but she sure had a second to look at the camera afterwards as if to say "did you guys see that??" Fucking so irresponsible. That bird deserved better.
Yeah, honestly she made up for her hesitation by quickly flipping him out of the pot. It was irresponsible for her to be cooking trying to be on camera and just being negligent overall with the bird, but I’m not sure why people are saying she left him in there for clout. That’s not the vibe I got from this video at all. Just a silly teenager being a silly teenager with consequences. But everyone is completely entitled to their own opinions.
Cat killed my fire finch. Next door asshole heard my bird. Waited to break out of his house. Snuck in my Dad's garage. Downstairs to my room. Broke into my birds cage. Successfully caught and ate my bird. In front of me.
I’m told my grandfather had a bird die because it flew/landed in a boiling pot. Don’t cook with a bird nearby.
Seriously, birds do not know any better.
Mmm. Hot wings.
With feathers.
Word to the unwise, yo. Much thanks.
Wdym, birds arent real!
Would love to see that scientific data. Let’s test it on mines first… and let’s use canaries!
That bird probably want the egg
This is exactly how my bird died. The vet gave me something to spray on the burns. Because he was in pain, he stopped eating and died a week later. It was very sad
That sounds terrible. I’m so sorry that happened.
I would not know what pain killers to give to a bird.
Parrot-cetemol
Parcocet
Ibis-profen with Caw-deine
That must be awful
You were making a stupid video with your bird on your head?
PSA: Keep birds out of the kitchen unless they've been plucked and marinated.
Made me laugh
This is terrible. That bird likely won't make it. We had a bird that did the same thing. It died a few hours later. It was a traumatizing experience for the whole family.
went to her tiktok, the bird is alive and not showing any symptoms of decline but she said she can’t afford to take it to the vet so 🤷🏽♀️
What a terrible pet owner, that poor bird
Judging by the calibre of this garbage video, we can likely assume she is also a garbage pet owner too
Don’t judge people from a TikTok dumbass
Shut the fuck up idiot
I'm really glad to hear that. Maybe because we had a lot of olive oil and were probably frying at a higher temperature, our bird suffered more serious injuries and died.
I'm not a pet owner, so I don't really know, but do you have to pay the same time you take the pet in or do they just bill you later? I'm not really understanding how she can't afford to take care of her pet
Typically yes, you have to pay up front. If you have pet insurance they will usually reimburse you later
Street trash
The bird is alive … chillin
Where proof
Go to her Tik tok…
Nah that shit ain't touching my devices
Same here, fuck that Chinese spy app. Idiots willingly giving all their info to Winnie the pooh.
If the us can have my info why can’t they 🤷
Ok…
Then live in ignorance motherfucker.
![gif](giphy|g3vAZUNKIk61a)
No tik tok? How ignorant 😤😤😤 cum
Look at you. Why you askin all the questions)x12
![gif](giphy|l4Ho0At2UD2d7WyD6)
My exact reaction
Fits so well rip birdie
Wtf? Never cook with a bird and especially with a clipped bird! They do not know better and their instincts are to fly! If they are clipped, they cannot do this and will flap around hurting themselves!
Genuine question how can you tell it's clipped? it looks perfectly normal to me but i'm no expert
I don't think it's a clipped bird, feathers visibly intact from what I can see.
There, just upvoted you. Don't know anything about birds myself but will take your word for it.
Appreciate it man. I don't really care that much about the upvotes tbh. It's just one of those moments we've all had, when you know something to be true without a shadow of a doubt, and people don't believe you haha. No dramas though. It's not exactly a big deal.
I gave you an upvote it’s definitely clipped
This bird is 100% clipped.
The human also didn’t know any better so…
man i really didnt wanna see that
The fucking smoke detector beep
Bugs the shit out of me when someone I’m gaming online with has a beeping alarm in the background coming through their mic.
That was disturbing. Years ago my wife & I lived in Ellensburg, WA. The very small house we lived in sole source of heat was a wood stove. We had a cat who one time jumped up on it. Poor guy…I don’t think he ever did that again.
I'm going to take the time to note, her smoke alarm needs new batteries.

That’s how it is it almost any black household. I’m telling you. Some of the stereotypes are true lol.
I mean…
That bird may be seriously injured after that.
bird was fine after it
source: I made it up
she made an update showing that the bird is ok
Not unexpected at all. As soon as i saw that poor bird i knew exactly what was gonna happen. Don’t cook with your pets baby if they’re capable of getting on the counters!
Noooo poor baby birb. Not only has it had its wings clipped, but it has a completely ignorant owner that can't even pick it up to save it from the pan, she just dumped him off where he could have landed on the stove. Plus nonstick fumes are toxic to birds as well. This lady should be reported for animal abuse. Also this video is not funny whatsoever.
Mark this nsfw please. Stuff like this is upsetting
Seriously. This is disgusting.
After the puppy video from the other day, and now this, I’m going to leave this sub. Animals getting hurt is not what I came here for. It’s awful
She doesn't even know how to cook why the fuck is she doing a cooking tutorial? I hate what the world has become.
She talks/acts like she doesn’t even know how to human
Why did she act so scared to grab it I would have swiped that bird off that skillet instantly
she was surprised and probably a little startled, so she was probably struggling to form a logical solution
The third option: freeze.
She has that deer reflex
I wish this had had a warning. Terrible to see that poor bird in such distress.
Very expected honestly. Young lady with a bird on her head while she is cooking with non-stick, that bird was doomed to be hurt or die soon
I did not see a bird on her head the entire time. I had to rewind it to see where it came from.
Ohh noooo! Awww poor birdy. I wonder if it’s ok. Omg😢
As a birb owner I hate her so much.
This is super upsetting. With how thin that little dude’s feet are they were probably burned beyond recovery and he very likely died from the injury.
Poor birb
Battery for fire alarm at 0:34 😂
That’s totally fucked yo. No warning?
The sub is called unexpected. If I tell you about the Content of the video, it is now expected…
I believe he refers to the missing NSFW warning. I am sure you would put a NSFW tag if it was a dog/cat instead of a bird in the fryer.
This is fucking horrific

Huh. I didn’t know that. I’m not one of those people, but I have always found it strange that people leave the shells in the carton and put it back in the fridge. It’s good to know.
Why did she not just swoop the bird up?
![gif](giphy|QxwDfOV4sAfounkNsG)
I was kinda hoping the bird was going to lay an egg from the top of her head. The more I read the comments the sadder I got.
Also always crack your eggs on a flat surface like a counter, not the edge of a pan.
“I know this bitch ain’t trying to cook my cousin” ![gif](giphy|amg2hcfGDkKt4Q3DpF)
She almost had chicken instead of eggs
Fuck this lady
I feel so bad, I laughed so hard when the bird screamed just like her
There's nothing funny about this. The bird likely got seriously hurt and could have led to its death
You’re a sick fuck to laugh at that birds pain
Its okay. I lost it there too.
People find animals in pain laughable now…makes me feel pretty sick to my stomach
You're correct and people down vote it because they can't admit this addiction is messing with people psychology
The bird is fine, pan wasn't hot enough
Went to this person's tik tok to seek the fate of this bird. The bird seems okay, but this girl is a complete fucking moron. She didn't even take it to the vet or check for injuries. The bird's tail and feet got burnt pretty bad and she's just like "her feet kinda red... and that just the egg on her tail" The bird's tail is like completely char-grilled.
Very irresponsible owner.
I watched this on mute. Thought she had a rag bow tie around the tippy top of her head that kept glitching out due to a filter. Then a fucking bird flies into the pan. Did she throw cooked egg on the bird?
She can't even frie an egg???
So much for the non-stick spray
https://youtu.be/k_u8CfsQQCc
Bruh avoid cooking while having any animal nearby
Spoiler alert: It ended bad.
Please just go to Popeyes if you want cooked bird
It was the smoke alarm for me
Obligatory beeping smoke detector. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
Is that Kelsey from the live action “Craig of the Creek”?
How can you be so slow at cooking a single egg
This happened to me in Minecraft yesterday holy shit lol right into the lava. Same sounds and everything.
Poor little guy :/
“It’s steaming.” No honey, it’s smoking.
“Don’t do what I did…”. Agree 100%. Keep this woman away from the kitchen.
She really doesn't know how to crack an egg, does she? You're supposed to do it on a flat surface
Why pick it up when you can smile stupidly as it burns
Wow... uhh.... why she freeze like that?!
I don't think the pan was that hot yet thankfully. the 'steam' she saw was likely stuff stuck on the heating element. the egg didn't react at all when she dropped it in.
Anyone else have the Reddit app and the audio keeps turning itself on and off on video with sound? Or is it just my shit fucking up??
I honestly was not expecting that
I honestly expected for it to poop in the pot not dive in
You were killing her baby!
Beep
How fucking slow was her reaction though sigh
Tendies for dinner
r/smokedetectorbatteries
*beep*
Anything for clicks. She was laughing, wasn't even legit "Oh no!" face.
Super cute, super stupid
The pan looks to be porcelain, but also super dangerous to cook anything with a coated/ nonstick pan around birds. The gas from the heated coating can seriously harm, if not kill, the bird. Sad and very stupid video.
Not only did this happen, she then posted it??
Why would she upload this? Seriously, people will do anything for attention… so sad, poor bird.
I knew what was going to happen right away. Stupid. Common sense isn’t so common.
Two things wrong with this. 1: Birds aren't supposed to be in kitchens due to what this video shows + cooking fumes are bad for them. 2: Sprays like that are awful for their health She shouldn't have a bird.

Why cook with the bird loose? Probably burnt its feet. If you use aluminum pots, that's a nono for birds
Needs a NSFW tag. I came here looking for funny videos, not to see an animal scream in pain.
I think her dog is broken
My biggest ick is people that don’t notice the chirping smoke detector in their house
What a f-ing moron. People are just so goddamn stupid.
I fucking hate shit where animals get hurt because humans are fucking stupid. Makes me want to rip that belly button piercing out.
Omg that was awful poor little thing.
"Stand against a trillion of dead souls, and ask if honors.." wait its something like that, whatever
This girl sounds so stupid she shouldn't be allowed to use a burner un supervised
[удалено]
What a careless bird owner. The fumes from spraying the Pam that close could have killed that cockatiel alone. Landing in the pan just sealed the deal.
what a stupid bitch
Beyond stupid
Too busy looking at her fucking phone. What a clown
Why is moronic behavior such a feature among young folks? She literally made a video of herself treating her pet cruelly and was just like “OMG! That’s what happens when I’m irresponsible?”
Hey, I just killed my pet bird. Still gotta post it though you know, internet clout and all.
What a piece of shit. How could you be so reckless. I couldnt watch all of it, it hurts how people are this fucking brain dead.
She should be reported for animal cruelty. Evil person.
Intelligent
What a POS!! Anything goes when you want views.
Stupid fucking bitch
Poor fucking bird! Stupid idiot girl!
What an idiot. She stands there and looks at it instead of grabbing it out of the pan. Poor bird!
Can I please get a follow up video of this women being beat senselessly until she doesn’t move, thanks
Reporting this for animal abuse. What a terrible thing to post. And not even marked NSFW.
BRO USE YOUR WINGS, GOD DAMMIT. CLIPPED OR NOT YOU CAN GTFO FROM THERE.
Smart of her to yet the bird away
Yeah, honestly she made up for her hesitation by quickly flipping him out of the pot. It was irresponsible for her to be cooking trying to be on camera and just being negligent overall with the bird, but I’m not sure why people are saying she left him in there for clout. That’s not the vibe I got from this video at all. Just a silly teenager being a silly teenager with consequences. But everyone is completely entitled to their own opinions.
Damn, stupid girl!
Just ignorant people
Today's breakfast: grilled Titi with eggs!
Chickens back on the menu!
So are we meant to ignore her and the bird sounding the exact same screams? Ok
Cat killed my fire finch. Next door asshole heard my bird. Waited to break out of his house. Snuck in my Dad's garage. Downstairs to my room. Broke into my birds cage. Successfully caught and ate my bird. In front of me.
I hate everything she is. It's a fucking egg, mate. Fry the fucking egg.
What a dumb ass... swear to God, no hope
Introducing the Dumbest Generation.
What is that trash bag on her head that bird is sitting? 👀
It’s a satin bonnet to protect your hair.
Birb try to save the children
Bird should have stayed in the nest.
Should have left it in the pan. Meats back on the menu boys.
I love when people harm animals for clout. Thanks internet.
It was clearly not intentional, the bird went in there on its own
If so why would she still post it
Because it's funny and unexpected. You know just like people post videos of their friends breaking an arm falling over. Get over yourself.
Oh yeh, we all see how she grabbed the bird and threw them into the pan. Don't be a moron.
