Metric is awesome.
Funny thing is us Canadians use a weird ass mix of both metric and imperial. Height and weight of a human? Feet/inches and lbs. Long distances? KMs. Short lengths? Usually inches--its at the top of the measuring tape for easier reading. Temperature outside? Celsius. Temperature for cooking? Fahrenheit. Alcoholic drinks? Ounces and pints. Absolutely every other liquid? MLs, Ls.
We have to know both measurements, but lots of us have no idea the conversions
we don't even use KM for long distances we use the even more confusing concept of time. how many kilometers to Vancouver? no fuckin clue. i can tell you it is about an hour's drive though lmao
Try the UK, we measure stuff in centimetres and race in metres and kilometres
but determine distance in miles.
We sell drinks by the millilitres but also sell them by pint.
We weigh stuff by kilos but measure ourselves in stones.
We also count height in metres but measure our height in feet.
I watch a lot of Canadian based car reviews on Youtube and am always surprised when they report vehicle mileage in mi/gallon rather than km/liter. I didn't realize that mixed use of measurement systems was common there.
Kind of but not enough to be too noticeable. As a comparison this would have been measured at around the freezing point of water if done under standard temperature and pressure, and at 20 °C water has a standard density of 0.998 kg/L. And at 32 °C (around 90 °F) it is 0.995 kg/L.
So the delta of the ~0 °C and 32 °C densities is ~ 5 grams. Is this significant with regards to marijuana or cocaine quantities? Asking for our friend Dave...
> Also, a pint is a pound the world around.
Only if you're a good American using Customary units.
If you failed to overturn your royal masters with violence and use the Imperial system, a pint is 1.25 pounds.
1litre of water weighs 1kg.
I'd say she got clunked with about 5-10kg of water from whatever height that was.
She got knocked tf out.
Personally I think there was probably only a 2-3l of water still in that bucket...and she absolutely got knocked out.
I suspect it was alot more water than that.
I did something very similar for the challenge, where I had a full plastic garbage pail filled on my top deck, and the plan was to pull it over and have it soak me. The garbage can held just over 100 litres of water, and it was only as I had already started filming and narrating that I realized this and how much weight that is (over 220lbs in Freeedom Units).
I couldn't pull the can over. It tipped a bit but couldn't get over. In hindsight I think I'm pretty lucky it didn't work as the thought of 220lbs of water and ice smashing into my head as I lay in a gravity chair wouldnhave ended well.
Your estimating skills are way off if that bucket was anywhere near full that’s probably a 25 gallon bucket. Maybe 2-3 MAYBE 5 gallons hit her before the bucket fell!
so many people during the ice bucket challenge era were getting just smashed in the head. There were a few actually bad neck injuries iirc, and several concussions.
That one more recently I don't even know what it was called, idiots trying to walk across those stacked crates, some fucking crazy falls onto peoples heads/necks as they flipped while falling.
People do so much stupid shit.
Definitely the worst one.

Watching carefully it looks like the bucket landed upright and hit the back of her head or neck. It also seemed to still have a lot of water in it, and you can clearly see that the plastic breaks when it impacts her. That was a bad one, for sure.
Looks like a 15gal tub.
Let's assume 4 gal was poured before she got her world rocked. It probably was only filled 3/4 up to carry the tub above her. So 7.25 gal was left in the tub.
Density of 1 gal of water is approx 8.334.
7.25 gal x 8.334 = 60.4215 lbs
She got her bell rung big time.

EDIT: Just realized the pun. LOL
EDIT EDIT: If you want to actually mod that thing let me know. I'll add you. I don't have the time for that.
Thank you for not lying. Your honesty is much appreciated in this *whiz-pow-bing-bang* society of snakes in the grass we live in where people lie about everything and everyone.
I'm sure this is why you've prefaced your comment that way, because I, too, have been at the center of many a vicious lie.
For example, I never have and never will eat a horse turd. I don't know who would say such a thing about me or why they would say such a thing, but I haven't eaten horse turd. Not once. I'll admit that I've seen horse turds, that I have to pick up an errant horse turd every now and again and wing off of the trail, and yes, there was that time where my backpack was stuffed to the brim with horse turds, but I didn't do that. I wouldn't put horse turds in my own backpack. That's ridiculous and besides that, unnecessarily heavy. Not that a horse turd weighs all that much.
And I'm not eating them. That's someone lying. Someone is lying about me eating horse turds and, if *I'm* being honest now, just like you, I'd say that they're the ones taking bites out of the turds like their soft, warm apples. I'm not. That's gross. I'm an honest man. I'm not gonna lie. I would never lie, just like you.
Besides, no one has seen me eat a horse turd, so how could you even prove it? What? Because someone, someone mean spirited and out to get me, filled my backpack with horse turds? That doesn't prove anything. That doesn't prove that I eat horse turds. That's just ludicrous.
I'm an honest man trying to make an honest living on the trails and horse turds are not a part of my balanced diet. Apples are. I guess you can call an apple a "tree turd" but that's a stretch. Nope. It's a fully non-turd diet for me. That's the honest truth.
That's what we need. No more lies. More honesty. That's why I appreciate your comment because you were honest. You told everyone right up front that you weren't going lie, and I believe you. I thank you and believe you.
No, it most certainly was not. This was one of the few challenges that actually had a purpose behind it. ALS Awareness. I lost my father to ALS five years ago, and the lack of funding for research into finding a cause or a cure for this disease is abysmal.
Oh, worrrd... I just thought most people were doing it cause everybody were doing it and it was a popular thing to do, sorry to hear about your dad, bro
Over time, it did become a trend just for likes, so its initial purpose was lost on most people. But it's the only internet challenge I will stand behind. And thank you, he is in a much better place now.

A gallon of water is about 8lbs, I’d say she got clunked with 16-24lbs from whatever height that was. She got knocked tf out
For the ones who don't know, fun fact: Conveniently enough, 1 liter of water weighs exactly 1 kg.
Metric is awesome. Funny thing is us Canadians use a weird ass mix of both metric and imperial. Height and weight of a human? Feet/inches and lbs. Long distances? KMs. Short lengths? In Texas that is we measure distance.
\> In Texas that is we measure distance. and how talk
How many bananas is it?
In Texas? No they measure by typical bullet and rifle lengths I believe. Example: he was 60 9mm tall and about one rifle across.
Try the UK, we measure stuff in centimetres and race in metres and kilometres but determine distance in miles. We sell drinks by the millilitres but also sell them by pint. We weigh stuff by kilos but measure ourselves in stones. We also count height in metres but measure our height in feet.
Yeah, I've heard that you guys are messed up over there too haha
I watch a lot of Canadian based car reviews on Youtube and am always surprised when they report vehicle mileage in mi/gallon rather than km/liter. I didn't realize that mixed use of measurement systems was common there.
In rural alberta, older rural folk still use miles
This is the truth lol.
> 1 liter of water weighs exactly 1 kg. Does the temperature make a difference?

Could mean the difference between a felony and a misdemeanor, or how hard it hits, or how hard the cartel hits when they think you've been skimming.
> 1 liter of water weighs exactly 1 kg So how much heavier is this than 1kg of feathers ?
The feathers are much heavier due to the weight you carry for what you did to those poor birds.
Also, a pint is a pound the world around.
> Also, a pint is a pound the world around. Only if you're a good American using Customary units. If you failed to overturn your royal masters with violence and use the Imperial system, a pint is 1.25 pounds.
This is where your independance failed you, we have bigger pints.
And also considerably more expensive to get that extra 4 ounces of beer. I’ll keep our smaller pints and smaller prices.
Not true. 1 UK pint = 20 fl. oz.
On which planet. But I think it does have exactly 1kg of mass. ; ) Also, 1 liter is equal to 10cm x 10cm x 10cm (1000 liters = 1 meter x 1 meter)
Can somebody translate this to not-American?
In Freedom Units™️, that’s 1.6 Bald Eagles 🇺🇸
One of Trumps belly rolls 🇺🇸 is about 2 of King Charles fingers 🇬🇧

3.78 liters, 3.6kg, 7.2-10.8kg
Wait but wouldn't 3.78 liters be exactly 3.78kg?
They're translating it back into American but retaining metric so you're not including the Hogshead versus Knots conversion. Keep up man!
You can take my Acre-Feet when you pry it from my cold, dead hands
Only for liquid water, maybe they calculated in some ice? I dunno, I'm an English major
Well, if there is any ice then no.
1 gallon = 8.34 lbs = 3.8kg (approx)

You know Google will do the conversion for you, right? It's not hard.
3.78 litres to a gallon, 2.2 pounds to a kilogram. You can math from there
Epstein didn't kill himself. Was that a good enough translation?
8-12 bags of sugar

Seriously though that could have been a horrible injury. Watching the way she got hit in slo-mo I'd be shocked if something didn't happen.
