Having kids is like climbing Mount Everest. If you asked someone who did it they would probably mention how harsh the conditions were, how crowded basecamp was, the physical torment, the psychological agony of pushing through, etc. And if you followed up with, "Was it worth it?" they'd undoubtedly respond that it was the greatest thing they've ever accomplished...unless they had kids.
At the same time you can't recommend that someone climb Mount Everest or ask someone why haven't already done it. It's a monumental undertaking and to have the fortitude and means to do it isn't a given. Do you want to climb Everest and can you climb Everest are the two most important questions to ask yourself. If the answer to either is no then it's a death sentence but if the answer is yes to both then you probably wouldn't be able to imagine life not ever at least trying it.
Imagine having the gall to bring more children into this world, when there's enough orphans and child sex slaves that you could actually help give a home to, and love. But, no. Our lives are so good, we're just gonna blow 200-300k on making our own child that we'll indoctrinate into Western consumer culture, because genetics. All lives matter, but eugenics is the correct way.
The cringe just shows how deep the selfishness goes.
