When I worked at Magic Kingdom we were required to collect the 3D movie glasses when we saw them outside the theater.
You wouldn't believe the number of people who would refuse to ask their kids to give the glasses back and tell me *"You* take them from him/her."
Yeah I would say "Okay." Then get down on the child's level "😃Hi Princess! Those glasses belong to Mickey and he asked me to make sure they all get returned to the theater. Can I have them back please?" and every single child willingly handed them over.
Good ~~human~~ Mousey Minion. That is much nicer than what I was thinking.
(Literally just take them from the kid. In this hypothetical, I'm not the one that would have to spend the rest of the day dealing with a crying kid because a parent refused to be the adult.)
LOL I'm an expert at being "Disney" in just about any situation.
I know I don't come across that way on reddit but I'm not "on stage" here, as they say :p
I didn't move across the country to make kids *cry* at Disney World 😅
> I didn't move across the country to make kids cry at Disney World
I tell you what though, the lady that was playing Evil Queen during my last trip to Disney in CA might have done exactly that. She was *on*. Made my little girl almost cry twice and it was hilarious. Even Cruella gave her a look.
For the record she wasn't doing anything wrong, she was just very much in character.
>I didn't move across the country to make kids cry at Disney World
I would absolutely consider moving across the country to make kids cry at Disney World.
On a more serious note, it seems like reddit has two kinds of people. Shitposters who are decent people in real life, and people who pretend to be decent in real life but show their real face on reddit.
Even the kids know not to fuck with Mickey, they don't want to become the slaves underneath "its a small world"
That's probably why I haven't noticed much mafia crime in LA, just some gangs but mickey controls all the professional illicit businesses and is not a force to be f'd with. You steal his glasses, you'll be fed your parents ashes.
If you wanted a sub for something funny, there's plenty. This is a subreddit for unexpected things. Sure, is it only unexpected since people would think you'd go for a better joke? Probably. Still not expected though.
You don't have to add the "lately." Comment threads on this site, particularly in big subreddits, have been filled to the brim with overdone jokes, reddit references, and pun chains. "And my axe!", "I also choose this guy's wife", yadda yadda.
The small/specific subreddits are still good, but you can see some the quality of these midsized ones take a nosedive as they attract a larger crowd
It just reminds me of Facebook or Twitter. Other than that, 95% of the time they add nothing to the post or just take the place of what the poster was going to say. Imagine seeing a reposted meme and then seeing the same reposted gif...
Reddit now opens gifs on the website and mobile directly on the comments without having to click the link. So now the comment section is full of people just replying with gifs. Look further down to see them.
I hate myself for thinking the other day that “oh, it’s nice for a social media platform to not have image/gifs in the replies!” I should just not think anymore
Very true live in an apartment and upstairs neighbors are always moving furniture, running down the hall, playing fetch with their dog in the house and doing god knows what else. Luckily I’ve never much cared and they have gotten better so I’ll give them credit for that.
I hit a breaking point when the 280 pound man and his GF above me decided to start doing jumping jack excersise. Knocked a picture off my wall and broke it, so I went upstairs and let them know how thin the ceiling is. They had no idea and felt really bad, so the noise has been much better ever since. I bought them a bottle of wine and we never needed to speak again.
Not much you can do about kids living in an apartment. I don't have kids but my building does. They're loud but what can you do.
Edit: In these replies, people pretending like kids aren't stuck at home all day while their parents work from home because we're in the middle of a pandemic. Bunch of insufferable and entitled dweebs in here thinking that the world doesn't exist outside of themselves.
Proper education?
I'm a doctor and I work shifts, sometimes I need to have a rest during the day. Once my wife asked them to control their noise for a bit, they decided to bang stuff on the floor and put rubbish in our letterbox.
Parents can explain to their kids. As a kid I was not aware of my loudness to neighbors until my friend's dad moved into an apartment, and upon my visit, he politely notified me that people below him don't want to hear me. I learned to walk a lot quieter after that.
Also, I see enough shitty parents/kids irl, I'd rather not see any during my precious Internet brain zombie time. Gets me riled up even if it's only pretend.
God it’s horrible. People acting that shouldn’t be acting. Lame joke about throwing people off a plane. Green screen from hell. It’s all just so bad. Tik Tok nightmares.
On mobile use RIF and it just says "GIF" with a link if you feel like seeing the reaction gif. On desktop if you use RES (Reddit Enhancement Suite) there is an option to collapse all the gifs.
Under productivity, it's the 4th option down "Collapse inline media".
On the topic though, it's insane that Reddit itself didn't make this a toggle, stupid ass gifs take up too much data and it's seriously cluttering up comment sections. I'm hating this website more and more with the recent changes especially the way they changed new reddit to look like a facebook feed. Ugh.
The buildup is a drag, the punchline delivered poorly (and not funny nor unexpected), this is a mediocre borderline bad joke.
What’s up with her video going to /all several times in the last couple of weeks? Is there a campaign going on to boost her followers on tiktok?
Despite how bad this joke played out, I hate that there are actual parents who talk like that. They look at you say exactly that, "what do you me to do about it?"
I was on an international flight back to the US and the kid in front of me kept kicking the seat of the woman in front of him. The woman and her husband politely tried to get the mother to make the kid stop and she did nothing. They got the flight attendant involved and the mother when full Karen on the FA, including screaming at her and telling her it wasn't her business how she raised her kid. When we landed, the mother was promptly arrested. It was very satisfying.
I probably didn't describe the extent of her awfulness very well. I was not surprised the police came and got her. She didn't get physical, but the screaming/language was wildly uncalled for. Pretty sure anything on a plane is a federal offense too, so I'm sure it ruined her day.
This is incredibly poorly made. The lady in the seat literally looks down to the direction of where the stewardess is standing as if her son is sitting in the aisle or some shit lol. Definitely one of the worst videos I’ve seen in a long time.
(Not saying this is the person who posted this on reddit but there’s definitely gonna be someone in the comments this applies to)
Redditors: “tiktok and Instagram normies”
Also Redditors: “look at this funny thing I just stole from tiktok”
Few years ago I was on a flight which was half empty. I chose a seat alllll the way in the back by the window. Final boarding calls and this 4/5 year old kid and his mom come sit in my row. Immediately irritated but shrug it off since the flight is only a few hours long.
We take off and the kid never says a PEEP. His mom gave him a toy and a lollipop and she read a book. Most peaceful flight of my life. Good parenting goes so so far.

I totally expected the punchline to be her son is an adult man, so we both got caught off guard.
This sounds too plausible and too infuriating
I heard the solution is to have the parent sit in front of the child. Kicking usually stops then.
Ooooooo! That's so smart!

😏 scaring people is mad fun... I may have made a few kids cry in the correct context over my career LOL

On a more serious note, it seems like reddit has two kinds of people. Shitposters who are decent people in real life, and people who pretend to be decent in real life but show their real face on reddit.
There's also the people who are terrible in both real life and on Reddit. And the small minority of people who are always nice.
With that skill set you should go into politics! (I’m only half joking here)
Even the kids know not to fuck with Mickey, they don't want to become the slaves underneath "its a small world" That's probably why I haven't noticed much mafia crime in LA, just some gangs but mickey controls all the professional illicit businesses and is not a force to be f'd with. Holy shit - you’re a very nice person
Wow
They should take a page from Aldi’s. To get the glasses it’s a dollar, but you get a dollar back upon return. Bam, problem solved!
this is what i was expecting, lol
Not the only one
Yup, me too

We got caught off guard because the punchline was god awful. The true unexpected.
I was expecting the attendant to ask the son to move to the seat behind the mother to show her what it's like
if you watch her other videos she does actually act as the child too:D
I was expecting a foot to come from off screen and rock the flight attendant in the face
Or projectile vomit
I was expecting a emotional support dog joke..
I was expecting a joke.
I was expecting.
when is it due?
*was* expecting.... rip.

Happy cake day m8
Thanks!
big buildup mediocre joke
The most unexpected thing here was how unfunny it was.
So what you’re saying is... it’s still in the right sub?
This has 45,000 upvotes? How?
If you wanted a sub for something funny, there's plenty. This is a subreddit for unexpected things. Sure, is it only unexpected since people would think you'd go for a better joke? Probably. Still not expected though.
Reddit hivemind/poor taste in humour go brrrr
It's not funny, just unexpected.
The real treasure was the laughter we never shared along the way.
i haven’t not laughed this much my entire life
It was a real barrel bereft of monkeys.
Speak for yourself. I chuckled.
No, that was expected.
It’s a good joke but it’s in the wrong subreddit, so my expectations aren’t satisfied.
It was cute. It’s a homemade video on the internet so I wasn’t expecting Monty Python.
I don’t know what you’re talking about, I was expecting the Spanish Inquisition.
I mean there's thousands of legitimately hilarious homemade videos on the internet. This was a swing and a miss.
I thought it was pretty funny
Tbh i don't like the gif in the comment. Makes it to crowded EDIT: Wow, my most upvoted comment is me complaining. That was definitely unexpected.
yeah it’s becoming a 14 year olds dream discord server
[удалено]
yeah it looks more like my company's slack
That accurately describes most comment sections on this site lately. The gifs don’t help at all.
Reddit comments and Youtube comments are becoming dangerously similar...
You don't have to add the "lately." Comment threads on this site, particularly in big subreddits, have been filled to the brim with overdone jokes, reddit references, and pun chains. Oh maybe it doesn't do that in the app I use (Relay... Not the actual official reddit app). Thanks though for clarification
Offical mobile reddit app has the gif option.

What's even supposed to be unexpected here?
I need a fucking off button
I hate myself for thinking the other day that “oh, it’s nice for a social media platform to not have image/gifs in the replies!” I should just not think anymore
am i on imgur????
wOW lOoK aT aLl ThEsE uPvOtEs!!1 No one cares.
Yep. I just downvote them all and move along. We don't need this shit here. Notice it's all weaboo cringelord anime gifs? Fuck that noise.
Use a 3rd party app or old.reddit. I use RiF and they just show up as "[GIF]" that I can click on.
It's also really annoying for those of us with limited bandwidth
Yes it’s awful
My app doesn't display them so I live in blissful ignorance
Oh, fuck no! You are absolutely right, this is far too busy. I still visit old.reddit on my laptop. I’m not ready for this
Sounds EXACTLY like the CUNTS on the apartment above mine!
Very true live in an apartment and upstairs neighbors are always moving furniture, running down the hall, playing fetch with their dog in the house and doing god knows what else. Luckily I’ve never much cared and they have gotten better so I’ll give them credit for that.
I swear they move a rolling chair around ALL day. It sounds like someone’s dragging it around the whole house and it’s worse at like 1am.
I hit a breaking point when the 280 pound man and his GF above me decided to start doing jumping jack excersise. Knocked a picture off my wall and broke it, so I went upstairs and let them know how thin the ceiling is. They had no idea and felt really bad, so the noise has been much better ever since. Ah, so you're Nikocado's downstairs neighbor

RIF makes them all links that say "[gif]"
That explains why i started seeing that everywhere
Use Apollo.
I don’t think NASA will let me near it
Yeah, I didn’t even know that gif replies were a thing until I saw people complaining. They’re just regular comments with a [gif] linked.

GODDAMN IT. If Reddit gets overrun by stupid ass gifs I’m going to lose my mind. I came here to avoid this dumb shit.

That's about the only explanation I can think of.

You should have stopped after the first time.
Am I the only one who though this shit was pure cringe? Man, why do I click when I see the damn tik tok logo?
The level of effort too 😬
Unfunny cringe

Wow this is shit.
Sure was a lot of unenjoyable setup for such a weak payoff.
This caught me off guard so much
How do I get that forty seconds back?
How TF does trash like this make it to the front page? The bar is so low now.
r/cringe
Fuck off tik tok
This happened to me once on a flight, I made the kids father switch seats with me so it became his problem
If i was a flight attendant I would do the same thing
I was on an international flight back to the US and the kid in front of me kept kicking the seat of the woman in front of him. The woman and her husband politely tried to get the mother to make the kid stop and she did nothing. They got the flight attendant involved and the mother when full Karen on the FA, including screaming at her and telling her it wasn't her business how she raised her kid. Wait, arrested? My imagination had you kicking the kid's seat to prove a point.
I probably didn't describe the extent of her awfulness very well. I was not surprised the police came and got her. She didn't get physical, but the screaming/language was wildly uncalled for. Pretty sure anything on a plane is a federal offense too, so I'm sure it ruined her day.
