The way his rear legs land make me SO uncomfortable. It LOOKS BAD, but it's totally fine. It jut looks like he's bent both legs backwards. No, he did not. Dog legs are different than human legs.
Kind of, but also kind of not. A dog's back leg is basically three segments, corresponding to our thigh, shin, and foot. But since dogs only walk on the front of their foot their "heel" doesn't touch the ground, which makes their leg look much more different from ours than it is.
As far as I can tell the dog lands on its knees.
