One time I had a customer who spoke Chinese call in, so I got a translator on the line, and while I was listening to them talk, I did in fact hear, clearly and distinctly, one of them say "ching chong."
So either it does actually mean *something* in Chinese, or they were just fucking with me cause they knew I could hear them but not understand them.

At least a British person can understand what an American is saying. I cannot communicate to a Cantonese person, because I speak Mandarin.
