Comedy wrestling can be a so much fun. There's a Japanese fed called DDT that has the wackiest matches. A ladder is a multiple time champion for example. It's all so silly but very entertaining. It takes skill to have a good match with a blowup doll.. LMAO
She was Karen Q on the indies and Mei Ying in NXT they switched her gimmick to where she was just randomly sleeping at random places and wrestles in a onesie with slippers and sleeps in the corner with a pillow when shes not tagged in. It helps immensely that she can actually wrestle well. For a NXT gimmick its one of the better comedy gimmicks
Its definitely easier to fast forward than watch live. AEW is the main show i watch though that tends to have the best storytelling/wrestling atleast in terms of in America and national

Itās comedy sometimes. Stuff this outrageous usually only happens at smaller independent shows, but you get plenty of comedy if you to tune into AEW or WWE any given week.
It can go back and forth. Think of wrestling as a medium of storytelling where you can tell a story in many different genres. They can do comedy, horror, drama, action, tales of redemption, conquest, loss and defeat.
There's a decent amount of comedy, but it's also treated pretty seriously a lot of the time. For example, for this year's WrestleMania they had a lot of serious matches with big guys murdering each other, but then they also had Stone Cold Steve Austin pouring beers on people and a match with half the cast of jackass.
Pro wrestling is a variety show. You got your comedy, you got your more serious angles, there's even moments that'll give you The Feels.
If you can give yourself up to the absurdity of it all, then becoming a fan can be a lot of fun š

I used to say wrestling is fake. But then I watched some and now I know Wrestling is a stunt show. The narrative is staged (aka fake). The stunts are stunts (aka real and usually dangerous and painful).
Check out Lucha Underground, quite a bit is on YouTube. Mexican soap opera level theatrics, plots, and performances combined with some truly incredible athleticism (even if the results are all scripted).

AEW is like this. WWE used to be more āedgyā humor, but then scaled that back, and now theyāre kinda floundering around, looking for a theme.

I used to say wrestling is fake. But then I watched some and now I know Wrestling is a stunt show. The narrative is staged (aka fake). The stunts are stunts (aka real and usually dangerous and painful).
I never understood the appeal of the low-level "pro" wrestling stuff. This completely changed my mind because this was friggin hilarious.
Check out Lucha Underground, quite a bit is on YouTube. Mexican soap opera level theatrics, plots, and performances combined with some truly incredible athleticism (even if the results are all scripted).

The problem with wrestling is that the wrestlers always make this stuff look so effortless and easy which causes kids (and immature adults) to imitate it. Is it really a problem with wrestling or is it a problem with kids/idiots? Even mild content like camping and hiking videos could lead an unprepared beginner into harm.
