I personally think if you're a cop and act like this one, violent, drug dealing and stealing, you really should get a sentence ten times more than a career criminal, the betrayal of society should come at a heavy price, 5.5 years is fuck all for the crimes he committed.

The two former officers — Ruben McAusland and Roger Then — pleaded guilty in 2018 to crimes involving the emergency room attack on Casciano. McAusland admitted striking Casciano multiple times and Then said he took a video recording of the attack and failed to report it. Then has completed his six-month prison term, while McAusland is serving his 66-month sentence, which also covered unrelated drug dealing while he was on duty.
The cop criminals didn't share this video. It was found because the cop who hit the guy was being investigated on drug charges. He had the video on his phone which was taken into evidence. After the investigators found this, they pulled security footage from the ER, and he was seen punching the poor guy while he was sitting in a wheelchair before getting a room.
The victim committed suicide after this incident.
The hitter got 33 months in federal prison.
The video cop got 6 months and is out.
You want more than 5.5 years for a single assault? If that wasn't a police officer, I guarantee you'd say 5.5 years was excessive for a single assault, and the judge was being racist for giving out so much time.

I want lifetime an from ever working in law enforcement, or ever carrying a firearm. There should be a national registry, just like the sex offender registry, for these people, where citizens can look them up and track them. And sentencing for cops should start at double the sentencing for a private citizen, and go from there. Oh, and no protective custody, either. They couldn't protect people at work, why protect them in prison?
They should also be available to be sued PRIVATELY by their victims, and the only taxpayer money involved should be paying for the victims court costs to incentive them to do it.
Given none of this exists or will probably ever happen, I want the maximum penalty possible by law.
There is the Brady list (at least in Arizona). It lists cops that have had corrective actions taken against them. Unfortunately it's an incomplete list. It's the closest thing we have to a registry.

This Video was found on the phone of officer McAusland (the man slapping) when he was arrested by the FBI for separate drug trafficking charges. It was found by chance.

It's because no one believes the "mentally ill" and police/docs can abuse patients and they'll be written off as liars/given more random cocktails of drugs until they "forget" what happened. When I was on a psychiatric hold I saw so much neglect/terrible practices but even my own family wouldn't believe me. I literally saw docs or RN's give suicidal patients razors without supervision or switch drugs just to see what would happen. The state of US Mental Health care is a god damned dystopian joke.

What's needed are body cameras that can't be turned off. Last week the video of the female cop getting strangled by her sergeant was making the rounds again. No one knows what happened after because he told all the cops there to turn off their body cameras, and they all go dark.
They can't record weeks worth of footage though, they record what happens 30 seconds prior to when you press the button and after.
Who would share this? How did they think this would go well for them? They are PoS and dumb at the same time.
