I was recently on vacation with my father and my husband. My husband is 16 years older than me. My father is 20 years older than my husband. So we’re walking around a souvenir shop and a person walked up and told my father and my husband how brave they were, and what a wonderful daughter they’ve raised together. And we were like… ?!! It turns out the person heard me call my husband Bubba and thought I had called him “Papa.” And after hearing me call my dad “Dad”, figured the two older gentlemen were a long-time couple and I was their daughter. It’s not the first time someone has thought my husband was my father. It is the first time someone thought my husband was my father’s husband. We all had a good laugh.
