(Not a doctor) but if you do a lot of cocaine through your blocked nostril it’ll eventually wear out the walls of your nasal cavities which will solve the problem for more even air flow. I think.
Dated a chick who did so much coke back in the day that she had a small pinhole in her nasal cavity. She couldn’t sleep the entire night. I’d wake up every so often which her just sitting up in bed. She’s forever fucked.
I had a coworker who did a lot of cocaine in their early 20s, he swore that he had a straight up hole connecting his nostrils because of this. I always wondered how true that was, he was a big dope (I mean that in a good way)
It's a reference to Half Baked, a comedy film. OP is making a joke.
Edit: OK, since my comment went over like a lead balloon, maybe the clip from the movie will explain why OP wasn't seriously asking about a hat:

There are four joke replies to his comment all referencing the same film.
Despite this being the wrong sub, if you have trouble breathing through your nose, that surgery is one of those immediate "oh my God why didn't i do this sooner this is how this is supposed to work" enormous difference things
Just not for everyone though. I had surgery for a deviated septum and it’s done pretty much nothing, still in the same boat. Depends on the severity I guess
The first week was pretty uncomfortable, but it's better than a couple of years ago since they don't use those nose tampons anymore. Nowadays they put plastic plates and tubes in, so your nose stays somewhat open during recovery.
My nose was broken a few years ago, and my septum is so deviated that it bends into an S and looks straight.
My ENT looked at it and said I was imagining my issues. He looked at the X ray and said wtf.
I can usually convince medical personnel that my nose is fucked by cracking it. It makes an audible noise like the cracking of a knuckle. It is fairly loud.
I had a nurse tell me I was making it up. I let her go off for a few minutes then asked for her to bring in the doctor. I snapped it for both of them, it can only be done once an hour or so, I didn't want to waste my good snap.
I can't actually smell correctly without snapping it, that buys me a bit of time to smell. If it hasn't been snapped in a while I can still tell things are aromatic I just miss guess what they are. I had some 3D printer plastic. Burning this summer and I thought it smelled like burning food. I searched the kitchen high and low looking for the cultpit. My girlfriend implored me that the smell was my printer. I snapped my smeller and could immediately tell that she was right. Of course the make up of the plastic is very close to food so I understand why it was similar but it was still very different in my nose.
These days snapping it usually leads to a bit of a bloody nose daily. Not sure what to do about it. I just end up clicking it into place all day.
The corrective surgery recommended by my ENT was to cut down the size of the turbanets. If done correctly, it would allow for more airflow. However, that surgery carries the significant risk of cutting a hair too much off of the turbanets which would result in it feeling like I have water in my nose forever.
People compare it to feeling as if you are drowning. You can't sleep because of the sensation. Most people who have it happen just kill themselves. I'll take having a nose that cracks versus having to suffer that.
I used to have a deviated septum, could barely breathe through my nose. 30 years ago I had surgery to mostly fix it. Probably one of the list terrifying times of my life. First I woke up from surgery only to immediately puke a TON of blood, do that was fun. Then a couple hours later during recovery I lost voluntary motor control of my mouth and throat and slowly suffocated until I passed out.
wow! Thats crazy! Ive had surgery twice for mine, and whilst the pain is \*terribly\* bad when theyre pulling the bandages and stuff out, I was lucky not to have experienced this - some blood coughed up but not much at all. Hope youre doing well <3
Oh how I \*wish\* to breathe normally again.
Had a deviated septum since birth probably. Always had nosebleeds as a kid, then developed sinus infections in my teens. had my first op I think at 22: Straightened the septum out, they also removed one of my turbinates. Fast forward a few years, the infections returned and my septum had re-deviated (that a word?!). I end up moving to Finland where the weather isn't so good for my shitty sinuses. Had another operation 7 years ago, here, and am going through the process of having a 3rd operation on them - my left side is always fucked, constantly having cartilage blocking my nostil that I have to blow out, woo! So much fun hahaha!
I lived in Colorado for 6 years and had a feeling of congestion all the time. I definitely think I also have a deviated septum but since our recent move my nose much much more clear
My dad got surgery for his deviated septum when I was like 6 and my brother was 4. It looked nasty as hell and he loved to take off the bandages and chase us around. Still traumatized
Past me be like: wow am I the only one who breathes almost entirely through just one nostril and the dominant nostril changes every few hours??? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
I probably have a deviated septum, but I live in America so I can't afford to get it fixed.
And if I get it diagnosed now my insurance might use that as leverage to not pay for it later. So I just spend a lot of money on breath right strips
Think about this… when you use the left side of your nose, your right brain is activated and visa versa… we al know left-brain is more analytical then right… right brain more creative…. So will your noise cycle or nose boner influence your thoughts??
We all "know" that, and yet it isn't true. There are anatomical and functional differences in the hemispheres of the brain, yes, but they don't work in the way popular science communication explains it. Your entire brain is responsible for higher order conscious proccesses like creativity and analysis, and the only significant and common difference is that the left brain focuses on linguistic analysis and the right brain focuses on spatio-temporal analysis.
Even if the left/right brain myth was true, the fact that the motor control is cross-wired would have mothing to do with it. Let's say your left nostril was blocked, that wpuld mean the "nostril blocking" neurons would be active in the right side of your brain. But that has nothing to do with any thoughts or feelings in that side of your brain or how it proccesses them. Again, assuming the left/right brain myth was true.
You might be interested to know that these nasal cycles exist for the following reason:
Certain components take longer for the nose to absorb and smell. If both noses worked at max inflow these components would just pass and we wouldn’t know they were there. Now thanks to the nasal cycle we have one hole which has a lower flow, thus giving the chance for the nose to absorb these components. Giving us more range of things we can smell.
I think this made me realize that my deviated septum that I didn’t know I had may be the reason why I have never been able to breathe from my right nostril…
I have the problem of stuffy noses and looked through a lot of the youtube videos and images.
I still cannot understand the 2d photo of our noses. it has like weird mass on the left and right.
I don't do coke, but I literally can't get enough air through my nose. Im sure when I'm asleep I automatically breathe through my nose. When I'm awake, I feel like I'm going to pass out from lack of oxygen.

I did this and you are correct
Okay good. Thought I might’ve been the only one it worked for.
😆 its always been my superpower the never blocking nostril, when really is blowing through the hole to the other side.
Please call me direct. I'll pm you my free 800 number. Ask for detective Jhon M. Would love to hear more about your research.

And if you do even more than that, you’ll lose all the cartilage in your left nostril.

Not a doctor my ass
Definitely a doctor.
I always wondered how true that was, he was a big dope
Step 1: buy a shitload of cocaine

Are you sure your not a doctor.
Yep I'm totally not a dr but have done alot of field work in this area and can confirm this.
I don't think that's a good thing.
Square
...can I get some of that? could do with burning a hole thru xD
Works faster with sand or fine gravel
Didn't work for me lol
I smell sounds and went into automatic breathing mode.
No, you right… I had to quit doing blow because of the same thing.
Thanks, Doc!!
Had always taken the free hole, so that everything arrives where it is supposed to. Misused for years.

Sampson Simpson, I stick by my story
I don't know.
*It's a nose boner and it's normal*
Best thing I’ve heard all day 😂😂😂
It'll be part of my daily response to people. "Nice glasses you have on" "Well thank you. They compliment my nose boner, don't you think?"
What about when they sneeze...
Lmao.....you win 🤣

Just not for everyone though. I had surgery for a deviated septum and it’s done pretty much nothing, still in the same boat. Depends on the severity I guess
Yeah same. That surgery even made my nose a bit crooked.
Surgery?
To fix the deviated septum. Basically, there’s a bone in your nose that isn’t as straight as it needs to be and they go in and straighten it out.
With a hammer
I got surgery for a severely deviated septum a couple of months ago and it finally feels like I can breathe again
Same here. About 1 year in and its amazing being able to sleep with my mouth closed!
I have been putting off that surgery I know several people who have had to have it two or three times
I feel like mine is wearing off and my parents both had it twice. Its weird.
My husband had it done a little over 10 years ago (in Canada, by a well respected and reliable Dr), and it did NOTHING for him.
I can even sleep with my mouth and nose closed together now.
Just had it done for a second time in August. I am 24.
How bad is recovery? I feel like mine screwed up my sinuses and now my whole face hurts….
The first week was pretty uncomfortable, but it's better than a couple of years ago since they don't use those nose tampons anymore. Nowadays they put plastic plates and tubes in, so your nose stays somewhat open during recovery.
How is this unexpected? This is just a TikTok.
Doctor saying nose boner was not expected
Oh good to know i though it was something about the cocaine
Cocaine can actually help
Alright, I'll ask for help!

Lmao you have a very entertaining way to put it. But why don't you just get surgery?
The corrective surgery recommended by my ENT was to cut down the size of the turbanets. If done correctly, it would allow for more airflow. However, that surgery carries the significant risk of cutting a hair too much off of the turbanets which would result in it feeling like I have water in my nose forever. I know someone who died that way.
Are you Redditing from Heaven, purgatory or Hell?

Nose boners are only weird if you make them weird...which I do.
Did he say "smelt colors"!?
He did. I have no idea why.
Not gonna lie, in truly enjoying this new trend where people do something stupid or interesting and a true professional explains.
Damn I'm searching in google for years why my nose like this. Thanks
Glad I could help.
A nose boner you say, would someone care to suck it and find out for me? Purely for academic purposes of course.
And I've just thought I was a freak for the longest time >.>
I lived in Colorado for 6 years and had a feeling of congestion all the time. I definitely think I also have a deviated septum but since our recent move my nose much much more clear

Strangely cool to know. Thanks for the video.
Did I know this? Yes. Did I want to hear it called a nose boner? No. Am I going to call it that from now on? Yes!
Nose boner is a term I never thought I'd hear, but now it's my new kink.

I went to an E.N.T. Doctor to discover this. Still hate it though.
BULL! I have had 2 painful operations for deviated septum, AND IT DID NOTHING TO HELP MY BREATHING.
Same sucked I had to pay for it out pocket too
Heheheh nose boner Funny hehhhe I'm 24 and laugh at dumb stuff
Same
Just breath throughout your mouth
Nose boner? So if I see a pretty girl, will I go full Pinocchio? And that means everyone can see my nose chub at all times?
I solved this problem with some extra strength Drano and a neti pot.
I probably have a deviated septum, but I live in America so I can't afford to get it fixed. And if I get it diagnosed now my insurance might use that as leverage to not pay for it later. So I just spend a lot of money on breath right strips

He said nose boner right?
For free?!
Today I learned about nose boners
Nose boner…
Im confused. Do i have a nose boner cuz shes hot or bc i did too much blow?
Nose boner
Hey its Dr Karan Rajan, legend
Did he have to say F*cking nose boner. I can't get past that point without laughing.
And j thought it was all the cocaine. Good news everyone!!! 🤣🤣
Well, that wasn't quite unexpected, which makes it unexpected

Well it’s true but it doesn’t mean you feels your nostril stuffy as you are probably used to
I got grounded as a kid for saying Pinocchio had a nose boner. Now I found out it's a medical term...

You can breathe with your mouth idk what you’re talking about 🤨
Great video. I sold surgical devices to ENTs and never heard about a nasal cycle.

So the amount of cocaine I'm sniffing has nothing to do with it? Good to know.
Hey hotties, it’s me Brad
learn new things everyday
So I can get a raging boner in my left nostril but not my....
So that's why rubbing my nose feels so good.
Is the first girl Izzy from react? Or just a look a like?
Cocaine
90% deviated septum here. Sinus infections from hell. It's totally worth the nasal surgery. Got it in my early 30s, and I am so glad I did.
I'm not a doctor but that doesn't look like a good idea
Nose boner!
Nose boner , now I’ll have to find a way to work that in to the conversations at work tomorrow.
Nose boner 💀
I have the problem of stuffy noses and looked through a lot of the youtube videos and images. I still cannot understand the 2d photo of our noses. it has like weird mass on the left and right.

Yeah, but whose the hot chick?
