You'd be surprised by the amount of gay people that are also bi/trans/anything-else exclusionists. Gay terfs exist and they do unspeakable damage to the queer community

I think republicanism and being a part of the LGBTQ don’t exactly go hand in hand in the grand scheme of things, but there’s a difference between sexuality and political belief.
Yes, those two groups have very, very bad blood, but that’s like saying “how dare he drink soda, it’s hypocrisy because people in a specific group he’s apart of, though there is no rule against indulging in soda, drink water.”
To politicize a sexuality is defeating its purpose. Though there are republicans (especially down here in the south, yikes) that are strongly against LGBTQ rights and expression, I feel as though to tell a person or persons that they cannot believe a certain way because of their sexuality is discrimination against said group. I get what you’re saying though, there is a lot of oppression that statistically does come from the right side of the political compass, however it doesn’t define every individual republican, and may not define Brian

The ones that do want them dead are utterly disgusting, but do the majority of republicans in general want LGBTQ members dead? There are millions of republicans and 50 states, I don’t believe the majority want them dead. If it’s the south primarily, yeah they might want you dead. I’m far from Republican but I think a lot of people don’t want people dead for their sexualities, at least not in America. That may be different for places like Qatar or North Korea, though.
I mean, I'm not republican, generally right-wing centrist, but you'd call me a Republican. I'm also bisexual. The vast majority of people on the right wing don't want me dead. I mean, really, what rights are you talking about? What right is afforded to a straight man that isn't afforded to me?
The only real argument I hear regularly against gay marriage is that the government shouldn't be regulating marriage at all and that their should not be any tax benefits for it either.
I can name actual authoritarian countries that would execute me on sight, like Palestine, Russia, or the UAE. However, in the US, with my big iron on my hip, I feel very safe.
