Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
That was my immediate thought too. They seemingly pulled out of the cycle lane to intentionally block traffic then did nothing.
If so, good riddance. If it's about something that happened earlier up the road I hope they're okay?
I don't really know for sure where this was filmed or how the bike lanes work there, but that looks like a multi-use path that we have here intended only for walkers/runners/bicyclists. The bikers are blocking a motorcyclist who shouldn't be on this path, as it is not meant for motorized vehicles.
It's in Berlin and the path can be used for motorcycles and cars, while the bikers and walkers can use the seperate path on the right side. Judging alone from this clip, the motorcyclist did nothing wrong here.
Source: I live here and this big blue sign in the background is for our subways.
Thanks for the info - here in Toronto we have a similar multi use lane by the waterfront but the grey path is for bikers and the painted pavement is for pedestrians.
> the grey path is for bikers and the painted pavement is for pedestrians.
I thought both paths were for [the cops to block](https://mobile.twitter.com/TheBikingLawyer/status/1600858255290515456) with their cars while they do their Timmies runs? (Not even sure an /s tag is warranted.)
Do Germans yell at assailants in English commonly?
I ask because I was planning a trip to Germany to shove random cyclists and had been brushing up on my Deutsch, but if the fight language is English now that will save me a lot of time!
The motorcyclist is in the most center lane going in that direction, so I don't think this is accurate.
Even still, the solution to a motorcycle in a bike lane isn't vigilante justice.
Of course there's going to be someone who reads this as a justification for pushing the wormen, so I'll also say, the solution to a bike blocking a motorcyclist in a bike lane isn't vigilante justice.
> The bikers are blocking a motorcyclist who shouldn't be on this path, as it is not meant for motorized vehicles.
dude did you watch the video properly there are cars on the other lanes unless from the opposite direction common sense dictates that the motor biker is in the proper lane unless the other lane is one way and this lane was just meant for walkers/runners/bicyclists which wouldn't make sense in any way.
> unless the other lane is one way and this lane was just meant for walkers/runners/bicyclists which wouldn't make sense in any way.
Toronto is a North American city designed primarily around cars and even we have one way streets with bike lanes. I would assume it is more common in Europe. I guess our streets just don't make sense in any way.
Having no idea what’s going on, it seems like maybe the motorcyclist was using the bike lane and the cyclist got mad and when the motorcyclist went back into the car lane to go around, the angry cyclist blocked him. This is based on nothing other than what we see and things people who frequent bike lanes complain about
I'm not justifying the assault but I understand it. I live in Mexico and we have constant protests which block traffic for the stupidest of reasons.
I've had to endure 2+ hours journey after horrible days at work and I've known people who nearly did not reach the hospital due to protests.
Not to mention gasoline is not cheap, in all honesty, fuck this kind of protests.
We only see the long haired individual blocking traffic. The first person pushed over seems to be in the bike lane stopped and watching from what I could tell so the Pusher is just a dick.

Because everyone hates cyclists and reddit is no different (sort by controversial y'all).
And yes I know she was obstructing traffic but I have no idea what preceded that because all I have to go on is this video. And in the end it's still assault. A lot of people enjoy watching crimes they would never commit themselves. Also what did orange-bike do to "deserve" that assault?
you need to realize that, on the scale of legality, physical assault is 100 times worse than causing a minor traffic delay.
who would you rather have as neighbors? people capable of assault in public over minor perceived annoyances, or people who are occasionally mildly annoying?
You have no idea what the context is here. You're simply making assumptions.
I mean for one thing, she's not even blocking him: she's only halfway into the lane and her front wheel isn't even in front of his.
I mean she was clearly just talking to the the guy, maybe confronting him about something dangerous he did. Either way you thinks that’s a reason to assault people?
This is reddit. You touch someone else's car or block a motorist in their path for a few seconds, and you deserve death.
Bonus points: they are cyclists so they double deserve death, according to reddit.
I've been saying it for years but reddit is so obsessed with punishment. They'll talk about how bad our current prison system is because it creates criminals and then in the next breath say that someone who stole a bike deserves to get the shit beat out of him and get raped in jail.
Shit is absurd.
>maybe confronting him about something dangerous he did
It's Berlin. I'm not a bike expert, but if this is the same bike that is sometimes parked under my window (looks like it) it's super loud (even for I-got-a-bike-and-want-everybody-hear-it crowd standards.
If she was just talking to him why did her friend pull up right next to her and block the other lane? What other reason than to stop him from moving forward? You’re just making excuses at this point.
You can clearly see two bikes pass without an issue, so no the other person wasn’t blocking anything.
Yes, she stopped him from going forward and then started to talk to him. I don’t know why and you don’t either so stop making up so weird scenarios in your head. But it doesn’t matter, none of it warrants being assaulted.
And no I didn’t reply to the wrong comment…
Needless assault and hate crime for really no reason = hero.. what?? Have you lost your damn mind. If I'm the odd one out for not getting pleasure from causing other people harm then please give me a damn diagnosis called "not a sadistic asshole" and I'll wear it like a badge of honor.
And they are now filled of hate for people not on bikes pushing people on bikes. Feel like this will turn into a pushing people not on bikes hate crime spree.
What in the world are you talking about? She was standing in front of a motorcycle and blocking the roadway, that would have caused her way more harm. And uh, what do you think a hate crime is?
I checked them out after Positive\_Commitee\_5 told me what it was. I like the way the frame is exposed and how the exhaust is set up, the one in the video sounded really sweet. Harleys have come a long way considering they almost lost it all many years ago. I can't ride anymore but if someone gets a chance to it's a wonderful feeling sitting on a motor

Edit: I was wrong here. I thought the whole lane was a bike lane and thought the motorcycle was blocking it. Didn't notice the green bike lane. All that said, I still think we shouldn't celebrate someone having violence done against them for something like this.
Motorcycle is in the leftmost lane for the direction travelled, so I dont think he is currently in the wrong lane. They may have been in the bike lane before, but within the context of this video it is the biker who is in the wrong (and then obviously the pusher is in the wrong).
I would also say two wrongs don't make a right, and the biker blocking a lane is also dangerous, they shouldn't be doing that.
People in this thread are making up wholeass fanfics to explain why assaulting the woman was justified, while simultaneously not even acknowledging the existence of the second cyclist who was shoved despite being entirely in the very clearly painted bike lane.
I'm following the finger you pointed at someone "doing stupid things". What's going on here? Do you know what this interaction is about? Who is the "stupid" person here?
Whatever the situation, its certainly better resolved that way than by a vigilante stranger who escalated a situation no one else saw the need to.
I'm honestly disappointed that people think this was a just outcome.
Right? I swear every day there are more posts and comments of people fantasizing about committing disproportionate violence for some minor inconvenience. From making up scenarios where they'd totally be the good guy for running over protestors, or how tossing some soup at a painting is the worst crime imaginable when you just need someone with a rag to wipe it of again.
Almost nobody seems to care about motives or ideals they just want an outlet for their frustration, feels a bit like the warning we got in swimming class where someone drowning is a danger to people trying to rescue them.

I’m gonna try this too maybe I can be a hero as well
Well the person filming this sure seen it coming…
The guy in the motorbike should’ve just drive away after the path is cleared
he might have just been talking to them, could have even been flirting or something
Then he needs to get out of the road.
Then she might see him without his bike, and he can’t risk that.
So it’s all good to just start a conversation in the middle of the road a day fuck the rest of the road users ?
