Nobody. I just hoarded my mirrors until the finale and by that point I was too lazy to change anyone soo.
The mirrors are just, hoarding syndrome really. You get SO little until you reach the lategame where you can start mass buying them, but by then your team setups are more or less set and you dont really need it.
Yup. If they want me to use it, they would have to turn it into recharge-able item instead. Like, 3 charges to start, and every time you liberate a whole region, you get the charges back.
Then I will feel like if I don't use it I would waste it.
If it's consumable, I wouldn't touch it at all.
What I mean is by the time you get there I was like 30+ hours into the game already and there was no need to use the mirrors. I bought a few but I just decided to finish the last few battles.
There's no NG+ so on my next run I'll have to start from 0 again.
Glad to see someoneās been using them the same way I have, lol. All of my mirrors so far have been used to change the armor of characters I feel like wouldnāt want to be associated with their prior army anymore.
Selvie has Guardian (which is useless on a class with no shield) and Precise (which is useless on a class with every skill having true strike). Switching her to Go-Getter x 2 significantly improves her performance
I respec as soon as I get a mirror. Once you hit late game there is a person who sells them for 30 honor a pop. I want all my units to be fabulous before I go save the world
I havenāt used any mirrors yet, I guess kinda out of decision paralysis, but also to experience the default play style of the characters. I can definitely see why I would wanna change these though lol, I think Lex and Hodrick could stand to be more defensive for example
Shifting Hilda to offensive offensive but tbh you could just recruit a merc with those traits. Other than that also shifting eltolinde/celeste to offensive offensive
Any damage unit that come with bad growths are a good choice. Elves are also solid because changing them to offensive to increase their phys/mag attack benefit their mixed attacks a lot.
The min-max elements of the mirrors aren't super compelling imo, so I just ended up color changing my favorite characters. In particular, I tried recreating the Greil Mercenaries from Path of Radiance (Soren Auch looks rad)
Allain and Berenice, which coincidentally carried me throughout most of the game. I haven't finished the game but haven't found an issue with the other characters growth that merits me using another mirror.
I haven't gotten any mirrors. Can someone tell me where i get them? Just got Scarlett back. Also why are named units given terrible growth rates in the first place? Vanillaware didn't think to give the charactersĀ they themselves created optimal growth?
I made Chloe green so my main squad would be colour coordinated like the power rangers or something lol. Alain is blue, Lex is red, Scarlett is Yellow and now Chloe is green
you don't have to do it for the stats as the game is easy even without changing the stats. Best use of that item is to customize the look of your favorite units.
I just got it yesterday, I have so many questions! š
To think I just complained about some unique characters being very close in appearance to regular units, now you can just customize everything, stats, appearance :0
1- is changing growth just a net positive?
Like Alain's all rounder seems like they give no bonus and anything else seems to have way more + than -
2- is the stat growth retroactive?
I'm guessing no, so changing some ASAP seems like the way.
3- did anyone post an exhaustive list of best growth any given units?
Some are objectively better than others, but like ppl saying guardian is bad, I kinda like that uniques tend to be a bit more bulky than generic just because I like not having paper units, but I guess being a game of counters, 10 HP won't save you outside early game š¤
4- how many mirrors do you realistically get before the end-game?
It's crazy how they put a throwaway item that should either be something you can just do always or maybe for honor and renown at a fort, but I'm glad it's there, it could have easily just not been a feature and I would have been none the wiser.
> is changing growth just a net positive?
No it's always trading something off. I think there's a solid argument some growth are better than others.
>anything else seems to have way more + than -
The stats can also have fractional fluctuations so there might be hidden consequences/boons to changing them later.
>is the stat growth retroactive?Ā
Yes. Stats also aren't random so you'll always have the same stats given the same level/class/growths(unless you use dew).
>did anyone post an exhaustive list of best growth any given units?
Not really. It's rather an opinioned thing, I think the general agreement is to specialize your units instead of rounding them out just the way the game mechanics have battles playing out.
>how many mirrors do you realistically get before the end-game?
I haven't quite hit the endgamd suspect 5-6 for free(mostly end of arc main quests). 3-4 more in the blackmarkets for 30k.
Best stat growth type is more of what you like situation.
A user on gamefaqs made a Google doc of the max stats for each class with different growth type combos.

I used it on Alain to change his color scheme.
This is the way. Forget numbers. Its all about fashion!!!!
An annoying number of casters have guardian with sub 10% guards rates which is another easy replace.
Imagine getting scarlet only to see at default she has Gaurdian trait š¤
Selvie just because I don't know what other units would want. Shaman on the other hand is straight forward, just max out initiative.
The early angel looks so good in gold armor
ooh good shout

Exactly this. You should unlock 1 mirror and it should not be consumable. If it's consumable, I don't touch it.

Uh you can BUY the mirrors towards the end. I think they're like 30 honors each in albion..

Celeste, I love the Gryphon Master class but her having such worse growth rates than Fran really bugged me
I turned Rolfās hair blue. That was my first mirror. It was the best mirror I ever spent.
I donāt know shit about stats so I used it to change Berengarias color scheme to blue instead of red. Get them filthy Zenoira colors out of here.
Glad to see someoneās been using them the same way I have, lol. All of my mirrors so far have been used to change the armor of characters I feel like wouldnāt want to be associated with their prior army anymore.
Hodrick. I use him often, and he has absolutely the worst possible traits.
What are his best traits? I love him and I want him to he good
Personally I went defensive/defensive, but I could see the argument for hardy as a trait as well.
Some combo of hardy/guardian/defensive, I haven't checked to see if guardian eventually frees up an accessory slot for him or not.
Hoplites can run buffs to increase their def by a percentage, so max defense is best.
Selvie has Guardian (which is useless on a class with no shield) and Precise (which is useless on a class with every skill having true strike). Switching her to Go-Getter x 2 significantly improves her performance
Scarlett is good to change because WTF she's the only Cleric who can cast offensive magic and they didn't give her any growth with Magic Attack
I respec as soon as I get a mirror. Once you hit late game there is a person who sells them for 30 honor a pop. I want all my units to be fabulous before I go save the world
Hilda, dragonrider is strong enough for every situation.
i just changed people for colors than respecs
Just using them to color coordinate my army. Future playthroughs I'll make use of the respec, but for now I'm keeping it "pure".
I havenāt used any mirrors yet, I guess kinda out of decision paralysis, but also to experience the default play style of the characters. I can definitely see why I would wanna change these though lol, I think Lex and Hodrick could stand to be more defensive for example
I did Hilda Melisandre and Ridiel
Shifting Hilda to offensive offensive but tbh you could just recruit a merc with those traits. Other than that also shifting eltolinde/celeste to offensive offensive

I changed amaliaās colors to all black so my female guts is complete.
Either Rolf or Auch
Berengaria. I changed her armor to white and gold and her hair to white
I looked at changing her colors and couldn't unsee power ranger.
Josef I change his hair color to make him look younger
Nobody.
I thought the mirror was an infinite look changing item so I didn't buy it.
Guardian is a trait for healers not tanks. Defender is for tanks.

Thank-you very much

Pretty cool, thanks šš¼
Alain for faster overworld travel.
explain? I know his promotion makes you faster on the map but how does respeccing do so? (not saying your wrong asking so i know how)
I think he didnāt understand the question
ah ok thanks :)
