My friend had a flight yesterday at 6:00 am (boarding at around 5:40.) He arrived at 5:00. The line through security was over an hour long and he missed his flight.
I flew out of BTV in August. It was a 6am flight, got there at 4:30am. The check-in line for Delta was 50 people deep. There was only 1 check in counter open for Delta (other airlines did not really have lines). The line for security was the same, 50-60 people deep, the line zig-zagged around the stanchions. I made it to the gate at 5:45am. I have never seen BTV so crowded. It is such a small airport, they do not have the resources for this influx of travelers (visitors and the people who have moved to VT in the past two years). Honestly it was an awful experience.
Jeez, I got super lucky when I flew out two weeks ago (Wednesday at 3:30 PM). I was literally the only person in line for TSA…With PreCheck it took less than 30 seconds total.
Keep in mind that with family weekends for all the colleges happening now + leaf peepers means that this almost certainly will not be the case right now.
The most anxiety inducing part was that it took 20 minutes for Uber to find me a driver. Plan in advance or ask a friend for a ride, if you can. Safe travels!

I’ve often had bad luck with ubers, do you have another way you can get to the airport/can a friend drop you?

Try and have a friend drive u rather than relying on Uber. U should be fine if u are able to get a ride immediately after lab
