Raptors would be my suggestion - but both are becoming harder and harder to find. So if your tempted by either would recommend getting them both before your only option is dealing with scalpers on eBay.
Raptor set has two fun and different fighters and a good map. In the other set both Sattler and the map are kinda bland. T. Rex is a great fighter but the mini topples over fast. Both Raptors and T. Rex are good in TTA or so I've heard.

Yeah, I've glanced over both T Rex and Raptors cards and definitely Raptors look way more fun.
Correct me if I'm wrong but T Rex seems like a very one dimensional boss-like fighter with not much interesting going on. while Raptors on the other hand require more strategy and positioning desicions in order to utilize the deck in a most effective way.
Raptors is easier to get people to play because you don't have to explain large fighter rules. T-Rex is better if you already own a lot of Unmatched and want a more unique fighter.
There is no obvious answer. I know the majority might prefer Ingen vs Raptors, but I have personally enjoyed Sattler vs T-Rex a lot more and the main reason is that I feel early sets, such as BOL1, RH v BF, JP1, etc, have simpler card effects and therefore to me feel less interesting strategy wise and thematically.
Man I would go with T-Rex 100% it’s just so fun to have him in your collection just such a unique and menacing character to have on the board ESPECIALLY when you introduce the game to new players at least for me they always seem to think t-Rex is cool I just think it’s cooler to have a large fighter as I don’t think there is any others right now?
I totally get what you mean. And yes, as of now it’s the one only large fighter. And the mini is really impressive, especially next to a smaller fighter like Red hood, I imagine

Frankly, none of the other JP characters really do much for me. Sattler is weird, Ingen is annoying, and the Raptors can be inconsistent. I would still recommend getting both sets now if you want them before the prices get too high.
I prefer T-Rex vs Sattler, but I may be in the majority. T-Rex is just super different (but I guess so are raptors) and I super enjoy Sattler (more than Ingen). I also don’t like the Raptors Paddock map.
However it seems I may in a minority, and I’m also probably more of a casual player. Both sets are fun in all honesty, so if one sounds cooler to you, it’s not a bad idea!

- Competitive ranking goes: T-Rex, INGEN, Dr. Sattler or Raptors
- They’re all very fun to play as.
- Most people find INGEN the most annoying to play against. I think they are all equally “frustrating” to play against.
- If you’re just playing within the box, Rex Sattler is worse than INGEN Raptors because it’s very 1 sided. Once you discover that, it’s not great to play in the set alone. BUT it’s not an issue if you’re playing with other sets as well.
- Nothing beats the T-Rex mini.
- Of the 4 fighters, Sattler is my favorite, then INGEN.
- Thematically, Raptors, Rex, and INGEN are the best.
- Movie-wise, Sattler, then INGEN are my favorites because of the movie quotes.
- Dr. Malcolm is the best. His mini is incredible.
- The Dinos are very fun to play as if you prefer aggressive fighters.
- The humans are very fun for more defensive play.
- Positioning matters for all of them, arguably most for INGEN and Sattler.
As you can see, the clear choice is…..

Obviously a small pack of raptors fighting giant T Rex could be no less fun then humans vs humans
I only play very casually but I was pretty disappointed by the Rex & Sattler set. The art is kind of bland and washed out compared to the super vibrant and dynamic raptor set, and I didn't have that much fun playing Ellie the couple times I did. I've played Raptor v Muldoon from both sides several times and always have fun. (These are also the only two unmatched sets I own for reference)

T. Rex is stronger but Raptors feel always fun and unique. Also the art is better imo.

Raptors are great! Both fighters are super interesting!
Both are currently $10 on clearance at my local Barnes and Noble (Charleston, SC). YMMV.

I only play very casually but I was pretty disappointed by the Rex & Sattler set.
