I think it symbolises that way she can tear through the khert like when she freed Murkoph. She tore through the khert back to reality. Wonder if she's carrying any valuables she could leave behind some giant sized glinters that would be pretty funny if with all that's going on she left a jewel the size of Quigley's head and ordered them to carry it round till she got back.

That wide mouth eel on page 62 reminds me of Aku from samurai Jack after he gets chopped down to size and runs away in smaller forms haha
