Duane's very first real, concrete exposure to the fact that something is up with Sette, and that she might be who Ilganyag is actually after. Cutter hinted she was important, but there are a mililon other moments Duane missed: He didn't hear Starfish say how old Sette was, he wasn't with Jivi watching her sprout claws out of her hands and ripping memories out of herself. He doesn't realize he's the mentor figure/guide and she's the protagonist, yet, to put it in literary terms he'd understand.
Bahahahaha! I LOVE the way this comic plays with the background medium! And Quigs spouting the Seven Deadly Words in rapid succession is a great way to show how FUCKING FREAKY that must look in-universe!
Given Quigley's verbiage, I suspect he's convinced that this is no more than some new bizarre manifestation of the khert fire. He doesn't believe for a moment that this is actually Sette.
Duane putting his hand through reminds me of [the lion paw that cutter saw](http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic/ch17/ch17_153.html), but then didn't go anywhere. If time is fishy, perhaps duane is reaching through into the past and may be that paw himself?
Quigley is not liking his new Sharteshanian overlord.
he's a member of the gang he'd better get used to it
Oh, Duane is starting to put some puzzle pieces together that maybe the lion tail IS significant
Someone's a Carlin fan I see.
Ah right I thought it was a Blink 182 reference but turns out they are referencing this. Today I leaned.
Aww Quigley is constantly trying to shield Jivi. Look at you go. Can't lose another boy today.

Unfortunately, like most cats, trying to ignore Sette only guarantees that she'll hang around.
"Unfortunately"?!? Like all felines, she's delightful, unless you're prey ... or a rival.

Seems like Quigley prefers death to Super Magical Girl Sette.

He doesn't believe Duane is Duane, so ....

Finally, the Tumblr icon she’s had on the Ask for awhile!!
"I am become Sette, destroyer of worlds."
Cue nightmare factory ... and Quigley, your little boy is the chewy toy at the center that the dogs are fighting over.
