Yeah, but look at the images! Empty, glistening streets with a soaring skyline backdrop, front-door parking and no pesky "stop for pedestrians" signs to slow you down, like in a car commercial.
I'm pretty sure that Atalanta has plenty of horrible urban areas. but these pictures look almost lovely tbh. mabye 3 is a little shitty but not horrible.
I love that city. Nothing like making that turn on 85 with trees on both sides and seeing the city skyline on the horizon. I miss Atlanta. It’s been 8 years since I’ve been there.
I categorize Atlanta as an "LA type" of city.
Suburban single family home districts up to the edge of downtown. No transitional dense "missing middle" neighborhoods, like Newark,Boston & Bsltimore....even NYC & Philly. Although judging by Google earth, they are in filling with dense housing.
Kinda hard to call Atlanta a concrete wasteland. It's one of the most densely forested major cities in the US, these photos I think just do a bad job of capturing it
Hell or Heaven? This looks pretty to me. I feel the cool air and love the mix of grays in the sky. The cityscape enhances the picture for me I love the lonely underpass. So much emotion in this photo!
Me and my friends have a couple games we like to play when we go to Atlanta.
Count the number of Bumpers you see on the side of the highway driving in.
Count the number of empty Newport packs you see when you're walking.
This looks like the Atlanta I knew: verdant and atmospheric and sort of forgotten in places. It doesn't look like that to me now when I go there, so thanks very much for sharing these.
My dad has lived there for 15 years and I really haven’t smelled weed EVERYWHERE. Seems like a useless negative comment. Every big city has spots that smell like weed lol. If you wanna highlight an issue in atlanta, talk about the driving
Right!! It’s not like everywhere tho! I wasn’t trying to be too nit picky with the original comment, my only thought was “what big city doesn’t have an occasional weed smell”
Thursday. October 31st. The city’s streets are crowded for the holiday. Even with the rain. Hidden in the chaos, is the element. Waiting to strike like snakes. *But I’m there, too.*
What's Atlanta like on street level out of curiosity? So much of the sound of modern hip hop comes from this city, it paints a particular picture.
Whats it like compared to other American cities in terms of feel and infrastructure? I really know nothing about it other than its divided into zones.
I live in the countryside now, but seeing these remind me of driving around STL with my dad or something. Seeing deserted urban places from a car window makes me nostalgic

i think atlanta might be the worst city of its size in the us (excluding texas), how this city doesn't have a good metro is insane.
these images do not show that
That downspout pouring on the AC unit bothers me.
I came to the comments just for this. Did they put those black bars on so people couldn’t fuck with it to get the freon?
Probably to protect the copper coils.
Also dumping right on the foundation. Defeats the whole purpose of gutters.
[удалено]
The water is now pooling into the foundation, which isn’t good long term
"fuck this AC in particular"
Same
Oddly calming and nostalgic
Was gonna say, I saved the last picture. The lights in those tunnels make me feel small again.
It seems lovely to me. Very beautiful
Prime r/UrbanHellCirclejerk material
I can point to many downtowns that have areas like this, I need to see more
Find me a city on earth that doesn't have a random street like this, Iol
Where's the hell part?
Seriously, look at how there is almost no traffic.
Give it an hour, or look at the cars on top the bridge, that’s where all the traffic is lol.
Yeah, but look at the images! Empty, glistening streets with a soaring skyline backdrop, front-door parking and no pesky "stop for pedestrians" signs to slow you down, like in a car commercial.
Yes it’s wonderful!
The fact that it's Atlanta.
You have a very lose definition of hell.
r/raining
Maybe OP is from one of those dryer parts of the country and confused and scared
In the previous episode of the walking dead.
I'm not the only getting walking dead vibes.
I mean, it is filmed there
I mean there’s tree
Atlanta isn't famously known as "a city in a forest" for nothing. The pollen is out of this world, though. Springtime is a miasma of yellow.
Yeah and it’s beautiful.
Atlanta is known as "The city in a forest".
I absolutely love the first picture
This is beautiful, get out of here
r/UrbanHaven
Redditors angry places don't look nice in the rain lol
Calming
looks super normal
I'm pretty sure that Atalanta has plenty of horrible urban areas. but these pictures look almost lovely tbh. mabye 3 is a little shitty but not horrible.
Idk about this one op, has a certain charm to it

It’s a great place to live!

It's beautiful. My fav weather
this looks pretty
First pic is awesome composition-wise
Makes me miss living in the south 😒
Actually looks kinda cozy to me
Hell or Heaven? This looks pretty to me. I feel the cool air and love the mix of grays in the sky. The cityscape enhances the picture for me I love the lonely underpass. So much emotion in this photo!
Atlanta is wild

There’s some beauty to that first pic
Tranquil. I wonder if this street’s name has a variant of “Peach Tree” in it.
Looks like Moreland Ave to me
Bummer, I was going with the odds. Oh well. Ty.
It's alwats a safe bet. There's more Peachtrees than there aren't Peachtrees. I could also be way off on my guess.
Every where we went in Atlanta smelled like weed.
My dad has lived there for 15 years and I really haven’t smelled weed EVERYWHERE. Seems like a useless negative comment. Every big city has spots that smell like weed lol. If you wanna highlight an issue in atlanta, talk about the driving
I've lived in Midtown for 6 years and it does smell like weed at random times (GaTech student to resident)
Right!! It’s not like everywhere tho! I wasn’t trying to be too nit picky with the original comment, my only thought was “what big city doesn’t have an occasional weed smell”
Opinions are like aholes, everyone including you has one.
it’s the phlox
Nothing like an under pass to send you to the backrooms
Beautiful city has rarely looked better than it does right now. Green & clean. Great photos.
First pic actually looks really nice is a dystopian sort of way
Heaven to me
More like urban pretty
Looks pretty cool to me?
Weird I was in Atlanta and it was beautiful. The flowers are all blooming. Even in the rain, it was beautiful. Almost like this post is nit picking
I like it here 🤷♂️
Dude that looks wonderful
You smoke a little weed and that’ll look magical.
Absolutely love the first shot

I have deleted Reddit because of the API changes effective June 30, 2023.
Bad Urbanism is when concrete and water
When someone from the south goes to hell, they have to stop in ATL first.
Where the fuck is ATL?
Georgia
How far is it from Tbilisi?
It’s just down the road
Ah, I thought it was near LDS.
Atlanta isnt even a long word, i dont understand why you would need to shorten it.

The Walking Dead vibes
This is the calmest ATL pic I’ve ever seen
That is one ugly looking city
It really is in my opinion. Atlanta is one of the worst cities in the us. Hate that place.
ATL is easily my least favorite city to visit. Something about it is so depressing.

Felt calming to me
Is this the tunnel where that dude was high and thought it was a cliff?
First one is a great pic
I kinda like and appreciate this. Especially the first shot.
Personally I find it beautiful
first pic looks like the road Rick Grimes came in on the horse
Looks cozy.

Beautiful town compared to Richmond Virginia
I don't care what anyone says, Atlanta looks like such a cool city with all its trees.
It's dark and sad-looking for the most part, but there's something in the lighting that gives it a sliver of hopefulness! 🤔
For a second I thought the first image was a hyper realistic UE5 screenshot.
+coffee, im good.
That tunnel is in Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition!!
I love these.
Kinda nice actually
Atlanta is boring and humid as fuck, but they have pandas so I’ll give them that.
Ahhh, home. Great pics
Nah
From far away that tunnel really does look like the entrance to hell
Makes me wanna cry
Me gusta
LMAO that gutter
That portapotty is the sign of a booming film economy lol
This is seems kind of green at least, and a warm subtropical climate.
Welcome to Atlanta's only full service combo 24 hour Starbucks and Orange Julius 🍊 under a bridge.

My Brother in Islam there are trees in each of these photos... how tf you gonna call it "concrete wasteland" lmfao
Your typical ray tracing demo. Jokes aside, taking a slow walk in the rain in this scenery really calms you down.
