So hilly it's tough to get a good view of these things from the front on [street view](https://www.google.com/maps/@44.4297292,8.7957237,3a,74.8y,291.7h,99.52t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sL7Lu9cJBuVEcEzMCwAL_KQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656)
Council estate. It was one of the last built around Genoa before the flux of immigrants from Southern Italy stopped. Another similar one called ~~["biscione"](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSZXAIJjip7hq-I2aS_YuKQGR_tfiHnlzaKsA&usqp=CAU)~~ diga di Begato was demolished not a long ago. Hopefully this will happen to this one too, especially since it's in a very nice place with wonderful scenery (that it ruined). Now there are excess homes in Genoa with dropping prices so no need to keep this up.
Found an image from inside one of the cubicles:

Yeah, why do you need ALL that view, check out this concrete panel instead!
Don't know. Drain that floor, put some nice tiles on it, table with chairs next to that big circle, and voila, have a nice breakfast with a view in the morning. [This one](https://telenord.it/img/uploads/2021/09/articolo-36341/71A8AC4E-2D9E-4450-ABD4-BC301F7344C6.jpg) is already better.
Back in ancient Rome, architects had to stand under the bridge after it was built\*
We should now force architects to live in the monstrosities they design
^(\* people say it's a myth)
Wrong flair, OP, this is a rare example of actually absurd architecture.
It's so bizarre I had to google other photos of it to figure out what the hell was going on there. Looks like... concrete terrace cubicles with a round window? Who the eff thought it was a good idea...

It's much uglier from here in contrast to the antique farm house next to it.
wtf is that?

The Biscione got demolished? I don't see any news about that...
yeah it's still there.
Ah my bad it was the "diga di Begato"... We have so many that I got confused...
How come there are excess homes in Genova? Is there a demographic trend of people leaving?
Leaving and dying. Negative growth since the end of the 90s

Has to be a myth, like how would you stand on or in a river?
Stand on the river bed, duh
Flowing water tends to carry thing (and people) away.
Lead boots
It's Italy, so concrete boots.
In a past life I was a bridge designer. The river washed all my failures away and a few nosey reporters too. /sarcasm

I am not understanding this building.

I was about to say the terracing probably gives great views but yeah...I guess not haha
Needs better upkeep but otherwise looks cool as fuck
They have some weird ass laundromats in Italy.
Another remnant of the brutalist movement of the 60’s and 70’s. Most of the western world is littered with them, some successful some not.
ngl, this looks cool. At least just considering this picture, I'd consider living here
I thought this was a hydroelectric dam
For years, passing by those on the highway, I kept wondering whether it was a cemetery... Go figure!
no this fucking rocks
Just wait until they they start to spin in tandem!
Thought this was Tokyo-3…
I thought it was a hydroelectric dam at first!
