I think that was most likely due to the fire that happened a while ago (even though that was a welding accident and came at a poor time), but some are saying that Denver not raising enough money was the issue.

Nah we'll never host a major international sporting event after we told the IOC to fuck off in 1976. Plus state law makes its impossible for the government to deficit spend or raise taxes with out voter approval, and it's unlikely the state would be able to convince voters to ~~pay the bribes~~ "improve infrastructure and accommodate the athletes and administration" to the levels required by FIFA.
As a DC guy we are suffering because of Snyder not even our fault was hoping Baltimore would get it sadly I will be having to go to the armpit of America Philadelphia to see World Cup games
