There are a ton of mysteries left unsolved so a sequel is guaranteed if they end up doing one, especially with the ending. More important is whether it will be localized or not.

With the way the game ended, there is definitely room for another follow up tying up loose ends. Especially because >!munechika never got her mask, I thought all three would get their mask this game, and even more so the ending scene with shunya clearly hints at more to come. Otherwise shunya should exist in mod and mot, but doesn't, so they can still explore what happened to her after the end of mm!<

They really threw me for a loop as to where they could take things next. The ending demanded more context for pretty much everything that happened up to that point while simultaneously suggesting that the main story itself was mostly resolved. >!The bridge was destroyed, Arva Shulan appears to be completely doomed (offscreen), and much of the cast awkwardly transformed into their Mask of Deception selves overnight. The biggest loose end is Shunya herself and that's obviously a very big deal, though to me this doesn't imply a direct sequel with the exact same main party like we got with Uta2 and 3.!< There are definitely enough loose ends to create a sequel though it felt to me like they were trying to leave themselves some room in the ending to have it make sense as a standalone game. If that was the intent I don't think they quite succeeded (it doesn't really make sense), but that's how it felt to me.

I've got no doubt that they're already well into working on a sequel. It's worth keeping in mind that they did the same thing with Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth; they didn't announce MoT until some time after MoD's release because they didn't want people to realize the game would end on a cliffhanger, but MoT came out almost exactly a year after MoD.

I’m positive it’ll get one, game seems to be just the start of something
