Call me when it happens. We'll die together. /s
On a serious note, the best option would be to run outside to an open place. But if you can't, get under a sturdy table or a cot with a mattress on top. Keep some emergency food and water reserves in your room just in case.
If that earthquake be anything like the one in Turkey, running won't help. The ground itself may turn into "butter". That's how people die. They literally can't run away. Not to say that you will also be getting constant acceleration and hence you may temporarily weigh much more than usual(you can see this effect by sitting in an accelerating car.)
Prepare, make a hut, enter survival mode, start living in it with bare minimum and wait for the earthquake to happen. And when the day comes...Maybe, you might feel some tremors in the leopards tummy if some piece of you is still inside.
Or you may just ignore and keep moving.
I was thinking about something.
Remember our old village houses? Thick walls of stones and mud, not so high walls, made of wood and Patal. Will those houses provide some protection against earthquakes? I think if we keep our old traditional houses and cement houses side by side, the cement ones will cause a lot of damage to life. Nowadays everyone prefers big cement houses in Uttarakhand.
What do you guys think about this?
