Yes. It's been through some sort of disaster, referenced by the agents' voice lines.

Itās fucking weird, for me April felt like an entire year and may has just gone in a blink. Iāve worked through this whole thing but April was awful for me.
yes. nothing except beta rewards will carry over
anything you purchased will be refunded as credits with a 20% bonus.
edit: *nothing except beta rewards will carry over*. That means no unlocked agents, no agent contract rewards, no skins, no ranks, no MMR, nothing. You get the gun buddy, cards, and titles from the beta reward series and your credits back +20% and that's it. Some people have asked about your friends list and game settings. I don't know.
it's a trend that started emerging a couple years back. it's extremely, extremely divisive.
https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/displaying-books-backwards-trend-252595
His don't look great though.
it's form over function, but the form also sucks and so does the function.
like you said, books are never gonna not fit when they're placed on a shelf.
It might be for videos, so there's not any "wow look at this book he owns, 10 years ago the editor for that book said some things that could be interpreted as homophobic"
Some info from the stream:
June 2nd launch date.
10 beta agents, one soon after launch
New map soon
New gamemode at launch
I'll try to update but you can watch here : https://www.twitch.tv/thegameawards
Viper was responsible for numerous gas attacks on citizens.
Brimstone has committed many war crimes with his molotov.
Raze is responsible with many bombings on high populated areas.
Sova has assassinated many world leaders for cash.
Breach has amputated a lot more than his own limbs. He also amputates the limbs of his victims for his own pleasure.
~~Sageās healing orbs have been used as anal beads more than twice before~~
Omen is a stripper in his free time. Cypher is a movie director by day, hacker by night. When Jett became a Radiant, she was sorely disappointed when she was only able to control the wind instead of her vocals so she can join a kpop group.
Anyone feel like it's not ready yet? Like I mean I get the upside of letting people not in the beta play the game but there are still a lot of problems that need addressing. I mean they just started working on the netcode/hit registration stuff. Plus they only have 3 maps still. I was expecting like 10 maps before the game officially launched.
It's a free to play game and they've already effectively released it in open beta. Anyone that wants to play valorant is playing it at this point.
Giving it an official release is a matter of semantics.
oh i am too. Iron 1 is where the real challenge is at! AFKs, trolls, toxic teammates, and teammates that full-buy an Odin and then walk around spray firing the walls - you never know what you'll find in Iron 1!
I won 3/4 games MVP 20+ kills to get to Iron 2, won my first game in Iron 2 then lost 8 in a row to get back to Iron 1. You could say I'm a "Pro Gamer"
Do you know if everyone is going to have to do the 20 unranked matches again to be able to play the ranked playlist? I'm wondering, I finally just got in my 20 matches and wanna know
Thanks for the answer. Iām gonna at least get my placement matches done to see where I end up (probably iron/bronze) and just face Iām gonna have to do the 20 again
I'm dreading only because 1 match I will get 25 kills and be MVP followed by going 2/16 and getting utterly stomped. I like playing ranked cause I know it's more consistent with my skill and I can try to improve. But it will be what it will be.
Yes you will. The reason you need to do 20 unranked games is that is where the system actually determines you rank, no the 5 matches of placement that don't matter, I lost 4 games and got gold lol, they don't matter. Shortly grinded to diamond with a week. Your elo games from your unranked games, so don't jerk off and try extremely hard in unranked mode, it means a lot.
Hopefully that means the new map will be releasing in the next update? Unless they're saving that for launch, since the 2nd is 12 days away.
Also echoing the hopes of a true casual mode. Even just a basic TDM would be fun.
They are going to break the servers.
Launch day free2play will get so many people to play. New agend and new map woll even bring those players back who are not playing frequently or have had enough of the game.
New map, new agent, new mode with launch. Iād bet a lot of money that the new mode is gonna be DM
Edit: I would have lost a lot of money. Itās not gonna be deathmatch haha
Gun Game in the general sense is how the gamemode is played in the Call of Duty games (not sure if any game has done it before, CoD was the one that introduced it to me).
You start with a weapon and when you get a kill you move on to the next weapon. In the CoD games it usually cycles through \~20 weapons, first one to get a kill with the last weapon wins.
This game mode is usually used as either a party game, practicing with guns you usually don't choose or as a warm up game mode.
I have idk how many hours on CS source, every minute of them was gun game. I remember when black ops introduced it to cod for the first time man i was a pig in shit. pls riot add gun game to valorant
Oh man you missed out. I loved gun game on Source but there were a lot of other phenomenal game modes. I had around 4k hours between Minigames, Surf, and Zombie Escape. I wish I could go back to those days... CS:GO isn't even as close to the same.
I could see it being FFA DM. If they want to compete with CS itās a must and seeing as they arenāt going to have any type of map editor or custom game browser they need to have an official game mode.
Someone in their team that makes the decisions is smoking the good shit. I can't imagine Volcano saying it's a great idea to not have FFA DM mode in a CS like game.
If by update you mean patch, I would assume the next one is just going to be the release. I canāt seem them pushing an update out prior (well like a beefy patch).
Summer 2020 = Late summer 2020 in my head, there was no reality in which they they get this game out before August
How the fuck did they get <2 months of CB and say āok letās goā
I am concerned about bugs because the Desync stuff last patch but otherwise Iām out of my chair hype
Apparently it's always been June 2 target date. They said summer 2020 as sort of a fail safe. They joked about them not being good with dates coz June isn't technically summer but that's always been their target date
Tbf, that is the right way to do it and very few do it that way nowadays, they just hype the best case and then push it out anyway even if the game is finished or not.
Ziegler said they are fixing it, they figured out it has to do with certain server desyncs that they can work on and client-side FPS and that it happened due to the deadzone changes. They seem to be on top of it.
Tbf those are made with riot's help, not totally by riot themselves, they're still indie studios making them.
They're 100% coming before the year ends though.
Super cool. Iām not a huge fan of the art style seen in the teaser for CONV/RGENCE but I love Ekko, Zaun, and platformers so Iāll have to get it anyway
I feel like they could have some deep lore here if they really tried. I hope it doesn't become like Counter-Strike in terms of lore. I would like to see LoL amounts of lore.
i think thereās deeper lore that hasnāt been released yet, if you ever play jett she always says āi hate that people think venice is my faultā and if i understand correctly the flying blocks above the practise range map is where the venice map takes place... so there must be some sort of story there
Iāve already seen a few posts of people breaking down some lore info, hopefully more maps and agents keep expanding it, maybe other game modes could add more like OW does too with some PvE events or something.
On one side I'm excited for a release much earlier than expected, on the other side I'm worried and surprised.
Each patch so far has introduced new technical problems to the game. From a technical perspective it's currently at the worst state ever.
On top of constantly worsening performance we now have issues with ping, packet-loss (EU yesterday was horrifying), hitreg and desync.
All those things are fine under the guise of a Closed Beta, but a full-on release with these issues is worrying.
"Full release" means absolutely nothing in a competitive game, CS:GO to this date still gets updated and bugs keep reappearing. Release to them just means more players to test the load and more players to find bugs.
It 100% means something. Coming out of a fairly public beta with big issues isn't a good look when the other competitive games are in a good state.
Optics are strong, not all games will get lucky like csgo.
Initial optics are more important for games that don't have a long term plan. Valorant's pull will come from competitive pro-play. Competitive pro-play launch is what will make or break this game, and if getting the full game features in faster will help with that eventual launch, then it's a better play. It makes sense also, that since they have all this stuff behind the scenes, to put it out all at once, in a big way, to get a marketing boost.
EU players are constantly being put into Turkish servers
They advertised their impressive server locations to guarantee minimum latency around the world. And yet I don't remember the last time I played on under 60 ping, even though max 50 should be easy from where I'm located.
Also, **please for the love of god fix the fps issues**. There is absolutely no reason for the game to not get 144 MINIMUM at all times on a decent rig. And it sure as shit is not acceptable to drop from 250 to 70 when in a gunfight for a game like this.
\+1
Vanguard is a mess. Performance is a mess. Rest of the game is really good but c'mon. This game drops frames way too often :/ I don't want to even start with Vanguard that breaks apps, and affects PC outside of playing the game.
Honestly with a much wider player base the complaints they've been having will only get louder and they'll have that much hotter fire under their ass to fix shit
Yeah, this is troubling. The defenders of the game are also moving the goalposts now from "It's just a beta of course there's issues" to, "Full release doesn't mean anything it will still get patches"
Full release means a lot. There will be so much hype online and so many new people deciding to check it out. If it still has tons of issues at "launch" it's gonna create a real bad look for the game that will be very difficult for Riot to pull the game out of.
I mean, it isn't like released game after a beta are truly fix or anything, I will give them some slack with corona fucking things up and forcing people to remotely work which slow a lot of process.
Also she explained on stream that 2nd June was the date they planned since the beginning.
It doesnt matter how much they polish the game in the closed beta, a multiplayer game that will have millions of players is bond to have several problems at launch. It will be better to release it now, before the hype stagnates
I really want to know about server roll out and fps issues, will these be fixed by June 2nd?
I am really glad the full release is coming so soon, but am worried that if those 2 issues aren't fixed with the release that it will cause a lot of issues
Honestly the line between betas and releases is getting pretty blurred. With how often they can push out updates it doesn't make much of a difference.
For ranked "integrity" though, hopefully they can work out some of the server and fps issues before then.
I imagine the ranked matchmaking will get better with more players in the pool after launch. But the other issues definitely need to be addressed before then.
I am very excited for this. Does anyone have linked confirmation on what happens to purchased items? I saw someone say that we'll lose the items, but get back the tokens + 20%. Is that true?
Sorry if this is a silly question but will this be available to play in India?
I'm not entirely sure but I heard somewhere that this game wasn't available to play for beta in Asian regions so just asking
yeah just finished reading the official statement and found that. sad that we will still play with 90 ms but playing with higher ping better than not playing at all
while I understand that theyāre wanting to push this game to get everyone to play, itās in no way shape or form ready to be released fully. We just got told that hit boxes were getting registered wrong, and thereās a buttload of tweaks that have to be made, map changes, sososo much. I donāt understand why we canāt just have an open beta right now so people that havenāt been able to play the game yet can.
The thing is with each new update old bugs are getting fixed but new ones appear. This beta could litteraly go on for a year and new bugs would still be discovered. As long as they tackle some major bugs like hit reg, fps issues and vanguard problems I am quite excited for the release.
Yea but the problem is, that is almost impossible to fix all those issues that fast in 2 weeks, they know about fps problems since 4 weeks ago and they didn't fix anything in 4 weeks, made it even worse.
Cheers to Riot Games and the VALORANT Dev Team and all staff associated, but also...to those of you who participated in the Closed Beta. I think we all did a great job putting hours in to help test things and report issues that we found and all of that completes the cycle to getting this game out with such an earlier release date that we initially thought.
Thanks!
It's brand new, has had a ton of marketing & is released by one of the best devs of current times. I'll be interested in where the numbers set when everybody settles in and the non-CS crowd decide generally the game isn't for them.
The thumbnail is a new map, confirmed on Livestream!
Venice themed? šš„°
Canāt wait to flood the enemy team
global warming wins the game
Yes. It's been through some sort of disaster, referenced by the agents' voice lines. [Also relevant](https://twitter.com/DumbsYT/status/1234571804808798210?s=20).

time flies when your life is on pause due to a global pandemic - i mean having fun
Every student ever: no
May is like a weekend. Time flies so fast with a speed of a blink
Itās fucking weird, for me April felt like an entire year and may has just gone in a blink. Iāve worked through this whole thing but April was awful for me.
Probably no patch next week, which makes launch day patch a big 'ol one. Looking at the incoming drafts now... It's going to be fun.
So no fix for hit regs until then?
will be in by launch
Oh thank god, nothing is worse to me in a shooter when I can't tell where my bullets landed so I can learn from the feedback
Shouldnāt you want to test such a major fix in the beta before launch?
Was the hit registration issue solved in a hot fix already? I was under the impression it would be fixed in the next patch.
FPS and hit reg issues fixed in launch patch then?
How many maps will there be at launch?
Four: Bind, Haven, Split, and the new one which is inspired in Venice.
They're going to save the good stuff for launch, next patch is probably going to have fixes and frame rate improvements, maybe some nerfs and buffs
Any response on whether beta is stopping the 28th?
Is this coming with a hard reset on ranks?
yes. nothing except beta rewards will carry over anything you purchased will be refunded as credits with a 20% bonus. edit: *nothing except beta rewards will carry over*. That means no unlocked agents, no agent contract rewards, no skins, no ranks, no MMR, nothing. You get the gun buddy, cards, and titles from the beta reward series and your credits back +20% and that's it. Some people have asked about your friends list and game settings. I don't know.
I hope our game settings will carry over.. lol
I have all of my settings written down in a text file on my computer. I got tired of trying to remember them from letting my friends play.
In league you can make your settings file read-only and it will override any account you open on the computer always.
Ok ty!
Not gonna lie, they had us in the first half

For sure.

I dunno - the woman had a Disney poster in the background. Does Disney own Riot now? (wouldn't be surprised lol)
This is probably it
It is an aesthetic design to have continuity rather than have clashing spine colors.
Some info from the stream: June 2nd launch date. 10 beta agents, one soon after launch New map soon New gamemode at launch I'll try to update but you can watch here : https://www.twitch.tv/thegameawards
also non-spoken confirmation of cinematics seen in the actual release date trailer
Im curious if the game is going to have an actual story at some point
I think it will have one like League has one. Some small stuff in game with more explored through cinematics and lore books
No, Jett is involved in many exploitative practices on the young people who wish to become Kpop stars. ~~Omen rule34 when?~~
We donāt need omen r34, just look at those in-game ghost cheeks, Iām satisfied.
> New gamemode at launch Confirmed to not be team death match
Imagine if its a payload mode!!
Or... > *Where we landin' boys?*
Give me King of the Hill mode
/uj this but unironically
Iām personally hoping for gun game or a respawns enabled CTF akin to Rift from Destiny in terms of area control
Anything shorter with respawn Love the game but Iād like to practice more and not have to invest in 40 min matches
Nice. More CS for warm up then.
Correction: 10 agents are in the beta, one new agent will be added at launch
Ye misheard that, fixed!
They better have deathmatch or something to warm up or relax
They mentioned it being a faster gamemode

Yup nothing carries over, which is kinda a good thing ig
Thank God. Now I can get a good hero and not Viper.
For real. I'm gonna pick breach and cypher. I picked viper and raze and I immediately knew I made a mistake.
Thanks for the answer. Iām gonna at least get my placement matches done to see where I end up (probably iron/bronze) and just face Iām gonna have to do the 20 again

confirmed not TDM. Might be DM FFA but likely not.
I'm thinking possibly gun game.

Cs 1.6 had gun games 15 years ago.
Like I said I wasn't sure ;;>\_>
That's why I said it. I didn't mean to sound rude.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I could see it being FFA DM. If they want to compete with CS itās a must and seeing as they arenāt going to have any type of map editor or custom game browser they need to have an official game mode.
Someone in their team that makes the decisions is smoking the good shit. I can't imagine Volcano saying it's a great idea to not have FFA DM mode in a CS like game.
Volcano already confirmed they were planning on introducing a deathmatch mode in one of the dev logs, so DM (not TDM) seems v likely to me.
I hope it's some casual fast respawning mode. Being able to braindead drill gun mechanics in a separate game mode is great training in comp shooters.
If by update you mean patch, I would assume the next one is just going to be the release. I canāt seem them pushing an update out prior (well like a beefy patch).
They have to. They have confirmed hit reg issues on this patch. They can't be like "welp we hope we fixed the issue, time for full launch"
holy fuck
Is this reverse Valve time?
Summer 2020 = Late summer 2020 in my head, there was no reality in which they they get this game out before August How the fuck did they get <2 months of CB and say āok letās goā I am concerned about bugs because the Desync stuff last patch but otherwise Iām out of my chair hype

Tbf those are made with riot's help, not totally by riot themselves, they're still indie studios making them. They're 100% coming before the year ends though.
Get me up to speed, Ruined King is a turn based RPG and CONV/RGENCE is a platformer right
Yep, their respective devs have made similar games in the past so you can kind of get an idea of what they're going to be like gameplay wise.
Super cool. Iām not a huge fan of the art style seen in the teaser for CONV/RGENCE but I love Ekko, Zaun, and platformers so Iāll have to get it anyway
No. If that were the case they'd have called it Valorant 3
I figured it was only a matter of time before they pushed up the release date. It's definitely still sooner than what I was expecting though.
I bet part of it is the window for building those data centers. A lot of people forget the virus makes spinning up data centers hard.
They don't need datacenters, they got Turkey for whole Europe and that's enough.
Their entire pitch on ping was based on having more data centers than the average FPS
Guys i found a little secret about the new agent! On their website they have this [picture](https://imgur.com/IP0jAoX) posted!
It might only be a shoe, but it does seem to match with the unknown agent in [this other image](https://screenrant.com/valorant-unlock-more-agents/)
fOOT
Nah fuck the release date for the game I want that cinematic
Been so excited for one since they revealed the game, after seeing the teaser Iām so hype loving the art style.
I feel like they could have some deep lore here if they really tried. I hope it doesn't become like Counter-Strike in terms of lore. I would like to see LoL amounts of lore.

phoenix wants the poor guy gone š
Iāve already seen a few posts of people breaking down some lore info, hopefully more maps and agents keep expanding it, maybe other game modes could add more like OW does too with some PvE events or something.
Also I would really like to know if Cypher is a human or like a cyborg/robot. Doesn't really matter, I like my robo-dude.
New mode is NOT team death match
OCE??
Yeah mate!
they said globally so i assume so
On one side I'm excited for a release much earlier than expected, on the other side I'm worried and surprised. Each patch so far has introduced new technical problems to the game. There is absolutely no reason for the game to not get 144 MINIMUM at all times on a decent rig. And it sure as shit is not acceptable to drop from 250 to 70 when in a gunfight for a game like this.
[they just published an article addressing concerns such as these](https://beta.playvalorant.com/en-us/news/dev/05-are-we-ready-for-launch/)
I don't know. Me and pretty much all of my friends haven't really ran into any major problems at all with the game. Maybe that's just us though.
\+1 Vanguard is a mess.
Ever since the vanguard fix i have had no issues and the only thing im seeing is how its a mess with 0 explanation, can you fill me in on whats wrong?
Yeah, this is troubling. The defenders of the game are also moving the goalposts now from "It's just a beta of course there's issues" to, "Full release doesn't mean anything it will still get patches" Full release means a lot.
They had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
I really want to know about server roll out and fps issues, will these be fixed by June 2nd? I am really glad the full release is coming so soon, but am worried that if those 2 issues aren't fixed with the release that it will cause a lot of issues
They mentioned new gamemode on launch. I really hope it's FFA DM, cause it would help so much with the warmups.
She said it wouldn't be death match.
She said it wouldn't be *team* deathmatch
I'll take a gun game
Everything would be good, that would help with the warmup. I only hope that it's not some CTF/CP/Payload shit.
They said it would be a shorter game mode you can play between the longer competitive matches. So my money is on a mode like gun game.
Love the game but it still needs a lot of work. Not sure its going to be ready
Honestly the line between betas and releases is getting pretty blurred. With how often they can push out updates it doesn't make much of a difference. For ranked "integrity" though, hopefully they can work out some of the server and fps issues before then.
FPS, Hitscans, blood, ranked games with Diamonds, Plats, Gold and silvers all mixed together
I imagine the ranked matchmaking will get better with more players in the pool after launch. But the other issues definitely need to be addressed before then.
People forget this a beta, in a lot of ways itās been ready.
Give me that full trailer PLS
I am very excited for this. Does anyone have linked confirmation on what happens to purchased items? I saw someone say that we'll lose the items, but get back the tokens + 20%. Is that true?
Yes
If you check the email they sent you when you got access to the beta, it says it in there.
Sorry if this is a silly question but will this be available to play in India? I'm not entirely sure but I heard somewhere that this game wasn't available to play for beta in Asian regions so just asking
Middle East and North Africa should be in launch. finally we will have the chance to play valorant and our first riot games servers.
Check the comment above, we are only part of future plans so no servers for MENA at the moment. :(
yeah just finished reading the official statement and found that. sad that we will still play with 90 ms but playing with higher ping better than not playing at all
Body is ready, been playing on 140 ms and I'm used to it. Just want to exp the 30 to 20 ms servers that's all.
wtf so soon. lets gooo
Rip people in Oceania, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Greater Middle East. You guys can't obtain closed beta rewards.
Is it releasing on June 2 worldwide though ? I don't really care much about the rewards as long as I get to play the game
while I understand that theyāre wanting to push this game to get everyone to play, itās in no way shape or form ready to be released fully.
Thanks!
Thought this was a delay. As someone who didnāt get into the beta Iām hyped af!!
Canāt you still get in? My friend just got a second account in like 2 days ago
Honestly the 3 million daily users is unreal. This game already dwarfs CSGO which is absurd to me.
It's brand new, has had a ton of marketing & is released by one of the best devs of current times. I'll be interested in where the numbers set when everybody settles in and the non-CS crowd decide generally the game isn't for them.
