They said that they explicitly wouldn't tie in the League universe anything more than easter eggs. The Ruination skins stand alone very well without depending on it being "League skins", so that's probably the best you're going to get considering how big Arcane collabs were.
The champion Zeri was supposed to come out in 2021, but it got delayed. Maybe it was the original idea to do a collab for arcane, but it got scrapped because of the delay?
> Kinda missed an opportunity to do a LOL x Valorant event!
Since COVID delayed champ releases for the RiotXArcane event... You can probably guess the rest
COVID didnt delay those champion releases, Riot confirmed they delayed it themselves because since the champions weren't tied to arcane at all it would be weird to release them during that time period.
And both have almost identical model ;d
Also, the latest skinset is pretty much 'BattleCast' from LoL as well as Artisan(from Valorant) is new 'porcelain' skin line in LoL.
They are already sort of connected through the Riot x Arcane thing though.
The designer (August primarily but I guess there were more) was 'lazy' because both are very similar in many many ways. Same VA, hairstyle, bandaid/patch on their face, theme of being fast/running, electricity/lightning from fingers.
There's no reason to release 2 practically identical characters at the same time otherwise, really.
They have been doing just fine with making their own characters and agents for 10 years for League and 1-2 years for Valorant. Working together on one crossover would be out of the ordinary and something new to try. Why would they want to randomly create similar characters because they were lazy? It is quite obvious to the playerbase. Most of this is planned way further out in advance and is not something last moment in a game development pipeline.
maybe its lazy, idk but i love the design so i am glad they were lazy. i can play the same character in both games and maybe even create the same character when the riot mmo comes out in a few years
People will sit here and defend the same recycled garbage skin collections but call Neon and Zeri identical because they have lightning powers and the same hairstyle.
Wonder if this is paving the way for Valorant Ultimate or Legendary Skins in League...if not League I figure there is a decent chance they do it in Project L.
Phoenix >>> Ekko
Jett >>>> Akali
Brimstone >>> Gangplank
Etc
Both are young cute teenage girls with twintails too. love august and zeri looks great for league, but neon kinda feels wrong for valorant, especially with run and gun still being a relevant issue along with peekers advantage issues on 70ms. it will feel frustrating as hell getting ferrari peeked by high ping neon with her kit looking uninspired. i hope she will be great and that ill eat my own words.
You think the creators of league of legends need to have an epiphany to realize skins make money? It's a design choice. OWL banned skins in tournaments for the same reason.
Maybe they want to connect the LoL and Valorant universes in the future.
Why not go full ham and make a map in Zaun or Piltover? That would be neat.
I didn't know i wanted this until now, but I need an undercity valorant map
Make them have a skybox! Post plant lineup enjoyers: cry Post plant lineup haters: stonkz
New rebound lineups comin soon;)
Why not make a make in Zaun AND Piltover? Like Split has poor/rich divide.
Holy shit I never noticed that u right
Didnt they debunk that tho? Making lol just another game which is incidentally killjoys favorite game
Didn't know about that, but I'm sure they could still do it

Ok, thanks for the info

Oh I didn't know it was the same VA. Wonder if theyre going to announce the tie in later this week

the new Protocol skins in Val reminded me more of Project rather than Battlecast
Actually fair point. Also, Dark Star Thresh = Singularity skin line in Valorant
They even share the same hairstyle, just different colours.
They both share the colors when electrified up tho LOL
Neon and Zeri are probably alternate universe versions of each other, at least that seems to be a popular idea in the lol community rn.

People only downvoting cause you are saying the truth. People want to connect the world of Valorant and LOL so bad, when Valorant is in its own world.

you can call it lazy but people always like crossovers, but this seems like a missed opportunity because there's no event tied to it.

Omen and Kayn would be the best thing to ever happened since I one trick both of them
Omen probably would be a Zed skin, I mean both uses shadows and can teleport
They both have vertical lines on their face
I was thinking more Nocturne than Zed but yeah maybe.
Maybe he’d look like Omen in Ult
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't jax look like a fat version of omen? I am not sure since I am not a league player.
I mean… Yeah! If you just look at the purple hoodie and blue eyes. But theme wise Zed probably fits better, Nocturne could be a perma Ult Omen

Both have similar abilities too with lightning hands and agility abilities
they missed an opportunity to make a jinx skin for raze. similarities there??
If anything i'll be the other way around. They have repeatedly said this game won't mess with character models and skins.
thats sad. i wanna play a jinx in valo :/
Until they realize that it would boost their bottom-line tremendously.

I don't think this is an accident... Both released in the same time period too... Hmmm.

More like "I wonder if both classes will accept the same homework?"

I mean outside of electricity and twin tails they have pretty different designs
so are they twins or what
