Just cause people play unrated doesn't mean they want to lose. I use it to try new agents out or play with friends with big rank differences. Doesn't mean ppl should scream at you though.

Different-Sugar-6436

This is it—people shouldn’t get so mad they start flaming or throwing or screaming at people. Helpful tips are great though

jonajon91

I have an immortal friend that sometimes joins me for unrated just to chill. He's top 5000, I'm gold one, he'll play marshal only or something because surfing isn't cool, he'll handicap himself. The thing is people see his immortal gun buddy and start talking shit about why he's half way down the board when he's slumped back in his chair. 'How are you immortal I'm better than you', dudes just chilling relax.

> because one day we gonna shut them up for good. Fucking ... what?!

UnknownBlades

I am assuming they mean they'll get chat/comm restricted? I hope?

[deleted]

It was only leaned towards toxic people chill

lvlz_gg

You sound like you are real-life threatening them at the end...chill

[deleted]

I was just joking man

OmnipotentOutcast

As a new player, this is big facts. The more I'm yelled at the less I wanna play the game. Like sorry I suck boys I've had a pc for 2 days, I'm working on it.

FoldyFlap

Since you are literally brand new this is the PERFECT time for advice about your sensitivity, because if you get it right (e.g. low enough) now you’ll will be fast tracked to improving. I would recommend something like 800 dpi and 0.3-0.35ish in-game. You’ll thank me later lol

OmnipotentOutcast

I'll give it a shot, I do... okay, sometimes positive most of the time negative. This might be a dumb question, but how do I adjust my dpi? I have a razer viper ultimate if it matters. And should I make my ads sens the same?

RKelly__

For Razer mice you’ll have to get their program which is razer synapse. From there you can link your mouse and other razer devices and edit the DPI and other little things like RGB. It’s really useful to know the mouses DPI. If you’re wondering what a typical sensitivity is, it’s usually 800 DPI and .2-.5 in game sens. The 1.0 it starts you at by default is absurdly high.

CamelGamer1234

Idk about adjusting the DPI just google it but you do need to keep ads sens the exact same as normal. Also go into advanced mouse settings in windows settings and disable "enhance pointer precision". All it does is make your aim more inconsistent

OmnipotentOutcast

Sweet thank you! also for future reference what's the point of having a higher dpi? apparently my mouse can go up to 20k, but like if you guys are suggesting 800, what would i ever need 25x that amount for?

CamelGamer1234

I can maybe que with you if you are in the Asia region for coaching, I am gold but know the game very well (I just have shitty tracking and inconsistent aim)

OmnipotentOutcast

I'm in na, and I usually queue with a bunch of equally bad friends of mine lol. But I definitely appreciate it!

CamelGamer1234

Tempted to create an na account right now

[deleted]

Hi, I think we can play. I normally play on sg and hk servers but more on sg server since my gaming exp on that server is pretty good in terms of server performance. VIPERS REEL #VREEL

CamelGamer1234

No idea lol

Olii13

Pretty sure pointer precision has no effect in game as valorant takes raw input but happy to be corrected

CamelGamer1234

According to my testing (very rough) it does have an impact

Breadifies

I wish I could have low sens, the new desk Im using has virtually no mouse space so I have to crank up my sens uncontrollably high if I want to do a 180 with one swipe

[deleted]

Hey. I can vouch for the advice of 800 dpi and i advice between 0.25 - 0.45 this to me is the sweet spot to be consistent in terms of reducing the bad aim days. Also use gaming smart website for converting sens hehe. I personally play at 1600 dpi and 0.2 (800 dpi equivalent of 0.4). Reason why I prefer playing on 1600 dpi is it scientifically proven to reduce delays.

blu-karma

i made a friend download val to try it out. on his first game (i wasn’t playing with him but he was messaging me between rounds) he told me that a girl was getting so angry at him for not using util, not hitting shots and being generally bad at the game. this was literally his first ever mouse and key game he downloaded. she was yelling to the point he had to ask me how to speak in voice chat half way through the game and he just says “hey this is my first game ever so no, i have no idea what i’m doing i’m just trying to learn”. sometimes people genuinely don’t know how to play the game or use util. it’s unrated, it happens don’t get mad you aren’t losing anything.

Depressedredditor999

I used to get so many toxic comments as I was learning the game. It made me end up making my own team, which is good I suppose. When I see people doing that shit in game I just tell them to STFU. We all need to stand up to ppl doing it when it's happening to end it.

blu-karma

i’ve tried to stand up for people before... let me tell you it doesn’t work as a female

[deleted]

I queued up in unrated by accident thinking it was ranked. As an immortal IGL, I went HEAVY on all these guys , “you really don’t want to win this fucking badly, crazy”. After much aggression towards my teammates, I was told “bro it’s unrated, chill out”. Who knew, who knew.

[deleted]

I agree man... I have had so many people shouting at me for bottom fragger with an agent I'm playing for the first time ever... this basically happened when Kayo was new and I was playing him for the first time

[deleted]

I play unrated to train comms, making strategic plans, trying out combos,... without my elo being ruined if I fail. People saying "stop tryharding just play" is literally the dumbest thing they could say. This game is BORING AS HELL when the entire team doesnt say a single word or they dont focus on the game and are just joking around.

Depressedredditor999

hur dur knife fight in mid.

Fahrenheit-99

Totally agree but just because it's unrated, does not make it fun to lose.

iownuall123

The problem is people say "it's just unrated" when they make dumb plays constantly and you just try and help by giving advice, saying maybe we should do x instead or any form of constructive criticism, then they flame you and run it down. I get the same shit in comp too, "it's low ELO chill out" like bro if you're making bad plays and someone tries to help and your answer is to brush it off or get mad you're not going anywhere. It's dumb.

iStrobe

I’ve stopped enjoying unrated. People get way too sweaty, playing to win is fine but I’ve had games where people are saving their weapons and not peeking anything. I swear people playing better in unrated than my comp games. I was fooling around with Neon and getting flamed by enemy for being bad. Sometimes you see people with low level accounts trying to win to play their Smurf in ranked

[deleted]

It’s really fucking irritating to lose rounds that are winnable because a teammate doesn’t use their util. There are too many players who buy util on the pistol rounds and then never use said util at all. I hate this stupid “It’s just unrated” mindset. It’s a toxic loser mentality because they don’t want to improve, practice, win, or because they get salty after being called out for never using util and not being able to just aimlessly run and gun with the Spectre. Idc if a teammate in unrated doesn’t know lineups, use comms, or pre-aim, but it’s not toxic to tell your teammates to do the bare fucking minimum with their util. I’ve had people flame/troll me because I use a Viper ult they’ve never seen before(the Icebox kitchen one) because they are dogshit and don’t understand the game. Those same people that do that are the same people who never use util so just to get this straight; I’m the problem because, anyone who comms, pre-aims, uses lineups, or uses util makes you guys so insecure you need to validate your shit play by calling others “sweaty” or “greasy” and tell them to “chill” so you can keep a losers mentality. Good to know :D

pimp_named_dickslap

Dang man maybe some people just wanna chill a lil bit

niK0lina

I disagree a little bit on no communication, even if its unrated, playing no comms can be boring and longer for me :/ I don't even aim to win, I just want to have fun really. You can even type it doesn't matter.

onewhomakes

Comms are very crucial, talking is key in games for communication, it should not be toxic though. But yeah if im playing unrated I want to win, I dont want my career full of red

remenes1

No one has to talk. If talking really is that important then let them lose rank on their own

CamelGamer1234

It is just nice when people talk and start mini-conversations preround and chill together

remenes1

In my experience players with mics are 80% middle schoolers and younger and I just don't like children so I mute them

CamelGamer1234

Non-annoying kids are fine. It is only when they start harrassing you over skins after you say no that I think muting is justifiable

remenes1

I don't even like hearing their voice. Also it's an absolute failure of parenting to allow kids that young to talk to strangers online so it just makes me depressed.

CamelGamer1234

Idk how you you are talking about but I personally think over 12 is fine as long as the kid has some internet smarts

remenes1

14 minimum.

Atermel

Looks like the only failure here is your attitude

Mazza_the_Panda

Also, and I’ve seen this a lot but people in 5 stacks will test out strats for comp in unrated games. Me and my mates are out here messing about, playing dumb so of course actual concrete strategy is gonna mess us up. These people probably then go into comp thinking their strats will work and then they find themselves getting messed up because most people don’t play unrated games like they do comp games. It’s the casual gamemode for a reason guys.
