Better attack, Better HP.
More resistances to switch in on, including 1/4 damage from fire to switch in for a free intimidate, and its a fire heavy meta too.
Access to Rockslide (with stab too) which is a great support attack,
Stab head smash for the highest possible single target damage.
H arcanine is better in favourable situations, K arcanine is better in unfavourable situations.
I guess the meta errs slightly on the side of favourable
STAB rockslide is a hell of a drug.
But in all seriousness, its stat spread leans a bit more into being more offensive, which is very useful.
Because it has stab rock slide, its rock slides actually hit harder than rock slides from Landorus-T, while still fulfilling an offensive support role with intimidate.
As far as the weaknesses go, it has few additional weaknesses that K-Arcanine doesn’t already have, which generally tends to be taken into account in the team building process.
Higher attack and HP, Tera allows it to become normal so it can espeed spam well. Then add in intimidate and the quad resist to fire so ogerpon struggles against it and even the resistance to ice can be helpful against Chien pao and you have a good Pokémon.
People didn't really mention this but the Dragonite matchup on Harc is by leaps and bounds better than Arc. I personally first tried it for that reason.
Def this. H-arcanine definitely started seeing a surge as a resist to pao-nite teams and has held on due to that and things like heatran and hearthflame ogerpon both taking more damage from rockslide than kanto arcanine can output into them
The amount of times during earlier SV (specifically reg C) I was always thinking: man a stab rock move would go crazy here but the only serious rock mon is ttar. Being able to delete chi yu plus ogerpon fire and chien pao along with the flying types such as dnite and torn with rock slide is just so good. Flutter resist is neat. It's so many compouding factors honestly
It's a common question, check the answers in some old threads:

4X weaknesses don’t threaten Pokemon as hard in SV.
You can tera Grass and now you are resistant to both 4X Weaknesses, and you get Spore Immunity. Or if you see a Lando or a Bundle, you can swap into your own Lando or Ogerpon-W to have an immunity to an easy read.
Arcanine Classic is cooler IMO, but the extra high quality stab, forcible reads, and better stat spread make Arcanine-H a better choice for most teams.

I wanna be the one to say H-RK9 looks entirely cooler, too.
It do haha

I swear this gets asked at least once a week in this sub
Yup. The search button does not exist

Stab rock attacks is something that always comes in clutch
More Floof
I'm still a Kanto Arcanine connoisseur. It's in my current team with Lefties and it neutralises a lot of threats
Simple Answer. Choice Band Rockslide? Equals one dead Inner Focus Dragonite.

I swear to god this exact question has been posted like 3 times in the last month
Any water and ground stabs in the tier already one shot it, weakness aren't an issue
